Spiritbond Materia

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but does anyone think it would be a good idea to have materia that increases your Spiritbond Gain? For instance:

Spiritbond Materia I = Spiritbond Gain +1
Spiritbond Materia II = Spiritbond Gain +2
Spiritbond Materia III = Spiritbond Gain +3
Spiritbond Materia IV = Spiritbond Gain +4

It's been pretty much determined a gain of +1 = 1% increase in spiritbonding. However, the pieces of gear (head, necklace, earrings, rings, and wrist) that have the Spiritbond Gain on them doesn't help if your goal is to spiritbond alots of gear in an effort to convert it hoping you get level IV materia.

Of course to make this viable there will need to be Spiritbond Gain caps on all gear (not sure how much work this take on SE part). Melding a few pieces of gear with 4-5 Spiritbond Materia IVs would obviously throw the entire spiritbonding process out of whack for the game (granted that would hopefully be pretty rare based on the rarity of Spiritbond Materia IV).

Ok how do you obtain Spiritbond Materia? Good question. I don't have any one good or bad answer. Some of the ideas off the top of my head include:

-Small chance from converting any type of gear into materia (this could be restricted to just DOL/DOH gear or DOW/DOM gear).
-Small chance (% TBD) as a drop from any open world mob.
-Chance from treasure chests in dungeons.
-Rewards from completing treasure hunt maps.
-Retainer ventures (I'll let someone else run with the specifics of this one).
-Purchased with GIL.
-Purchased with Company Seals.
-Purchased with Myths.

I'm sure there are countless other ways, but this post is getting too long as it is. This is just something I have been kicking around in my head for a little while now and there is probably a whole lot more that would need to go into this then I have describe in these posts. I just wear a full set of i45+ crafting gear with my staff and go urths gift in the shroud. Doesn't take long in a party to 100% a full set.

Yeah. Not too bad there. If one is willing to not do an entire outfit, have an aetheryte ring (+1 spirit bind) and meteor ring (+3 sprit bind) coupled with FC spirit bind action and +3 spirit bind potion works wonders.

Just use the edit feature to work around the 1000 character limit. It'll help save you from making several, smaller posts that are all related.

There is already an absolute ton of ways to increase spirit bonding speeds, without being able to custom make SB+X equipment.

Personally, I thought the potion was going a bit too far. But oh well.

Provided this materia is not obtainable via spiritbonding, I guess this is alright. But, I do not see too much of an advantage for this, as melding any materia on gear speeds up spiritbonding by a significant amount anyway.

In my experience, +Spiritbonding as an item stat doesn't do nearly enough to matter. I'd rather just make the item HQ and have at it. It doesn't take long and having an item slot dedicated to increasing spiritbonding speed has two things going on with it. One, it takes away a slot that you could be spiritbonding something useful. And, as mentioned, +Spiritbond doesn't increase the rate significantly at all.

buying or earning the spiritbond materias would take more time and effort then killing 1 or 2 additional monsters to spiritbond a set...

full set (+ spiritbond potion + 1-2 junk material if in a rush )

I'd rather spiritbond more items than spiritbond some items faster...just that feeling of converting so many items all at once you know xc

There are lots of accessoires that push the bonding rate but still I never use them because there is not a single stat on them that I can use. I use Materias mainly to speed up the process of spirit bonding and buy the potions from my Grand company from time to time when I know I am going to spend some time with bonding in a row. So far no complaints because it is actually quite quick but I wouldn't mind to insert spiritbonding Materia instead of Resistance Materia so yeah..why not.
