For the love of the Twelve, remove the BLARING TRUMPET MUSIC just for aggroing.

The ridiculously loud and dramatic battle music that plays every time I casually run past a Kobold or Sahagin during beastman daily quests actually impedes my enjoyment of the game after the umpteenth time. Give me some peace.

Please make it so that battle music does not play simply for aggroing. FFXI had the right idea about this. Or simply add quiet, ominous music for aggro like some of the 3-D Zelda games. But preferably, nothing. Only start the BLARING TRUMPET MUSIC when we actually fight. And don't consider unruly pets set to Sic auto-battling as fighting.

Or you could just control your pet?

TV/PC volume controls? Music volume settings in the game? Earplugs?

I sometimes have them on Sic when mounted, and the only reason I bother to take it off Sic to mount is to prevent that music. I don't mind so much that the pet vanishes.

And that's not the issue. Even with out a pet, trumpets blast and church organs bellow through the canyons of Coerthas if a chinchilla sees me and I'm on a lower level class.

Actually, I like this idea. They did it for mounts. And lost city is so much cooler because of the fact that it doesn't have battle music.

I agree. I remember back when they added the "feature" of battle music starting for mage classes that never engaged monsters in XI and literally the forums BLEW UP. Battle music is nice the first few times you hear it, but it gets obnoxious after a while and one of the things I loved about partying in XI was I could jump on a mage job and listen to the beautiful soundtrack in places like Caedarva Mire, only occasionally interrupted by the bleating of Imps letting me know it was time to toss a silena into my rotation.

The battle music in low level dungeons is obnoxious, the aggroing sounds interrupting the soundtrack of the open world is obnoxious, and in general ANYTHING that stops my enjoyment of the soundtrack of the various zones is obnoxious. I'll even add the chocobo music to this - I ended up turning it off because instead of a short chocobo-theme song that I was expecting to fade back into the zone sound... it NEVER ENDS. Occasionally I will turn on the Coerul music because it is pleasant, but overall it's not worth the hassle.

There are a lot of things that need to be fixed about how the music plays. Or rather, is interrupted.

Haha, I absolutely agree and also feel there really should be a toggle for battle music. I've been switching the BGM on and off depending on what I'm doing, but I really enjoy the soundtrack especially in certain areas like Coerthas.

I just hate it when my favorite part of a song plays in the area I'm in..and then a frog decides to grab me with it's tongue..and the battle music starts.

Same here i find my self near little Ala Mhigo a lot and I love that soundtrack. The damn amajaal always interrupt the music because they see.

There is a way to disable choco riding music, so it couldn't possibly be too hard to adjust the way battle music works. Just like whats said earlier, make it where it only plays, when you claim a target.

Did someone say blaring trumpet music?

I have often desired to turn off just the battle music. Especially since you can't here anything else while it's playing.

Same, the only thing I dislike is the new mini boss theme for all expert dungeons.

I turned off all BGM a while back due to Titan music, and have just left it off. The only thing missing from titan music was some emo singing about how life makes him cry.

I would really like that option.

I'd like a larger pool of battle music for each area. Just to make it different. I would also like specific music in each dungeon... you know... like it's done in Lost City of Amdapor. Other than that I often jump on my chocobo to listen to that music or even use the porter to listen to that one. Wish each mount had a different tune as well... Coeurl mount has a good one but all teh other reuse the same one which is just annoying.

I know the Titan music is grating, but I can't think of any reason why hearing it would make you think emo. Hell it's lyrics are decidedly anti emo

The battle music in this game is SO BAD!!!!
Please arrange a TON of new music to replace this one track that the game plays most of the time.
This is one area where variety is literally everything and you've placed same music for every single zone. Please please fix it!

There is so much music in this game that giving every area an unique battle track should be trivial. (Uematsu already did this in 1.0 btw)

Some of the fields that have their own music should just up-tempo and intensity and keep playing during fights instead of always starting from 0 (with the blaring horns).
