Second Coil Turn 7 off tank issue

Wonder if anyone has this issue or only me.

Before first wave of Lamia I have my Rage of Halone chain ready and wait for pop. Once I initiate the hate on first one at 12:00 with RoH, she just goes to healers and comes back to me. I am quite confidence to say that RoH is landed in less than 1 second after first one pop. I am well prepared for its pop every time....

I don't know why this happen, then I try to use shield lob to initiate hate with some distance to see if there's any difference. Once the shield lob landed I charge in and hey, the Lamia stays where she is.

I am thinking that there is a bug on the first Lamia which requires some distance and time to let her judge who the top hate guy is, as RoH need to be used in close range, while its hate is no doubt larger than shield lob with shield oath up..

Tank in the video had Whispering Dawn put on him seconds before the spawn. That and Regen/Medica 2 are the reason that happens

Try using Savage Blade instead, you don't have the animation time to content with like with RoH.

Hmm... this could be the reason, cos I just watched another video the warrior can hold the first one with skull sunder where the 2nd one goes to centre with butcher block.. will try that thank you very much.

I never grab threat with RoH because of how long the animation is, Savage Blade is always enough and very fast.

Healers should also not cast AoE heals (or have AoE regens up) when the adds pop, so make sure that's not the case.

This is the main thing, because there's a second or two before the mob shows up where you can still generate enmity on it, ie healers.

Like everyone else said, the RoH animation is pretty slow and it doesn't seem to count the hit until the end of the animation. You can try using Savage Blade first, or Flash for immediate threat and then follow up with RoH.

Pretty much no reason for any AoE healing at that phase or indeed 90% of the fight. Maybe stick Medica II up during ranger adds phase since they just shoot whoever but other than that it's unnecessary.

I had this problem in T4 as OT moooonths ago. Had a RoH combo ready for an add, smacked him with it but it had already chosen a target (usually a healer) and insisted on completing that move before recognizing that i had used RoH! If you can click the mob in the enemy list before it appears on the screen and use your RoH it should register as threat gained BEFORE it appears on the screen, that way it won't chase down someone else. This is a silly way to get around it but it did work for me so thought I would share lol

Or you can be in position for add, Flash when the name appears and it won't run after anyone. Savage Blade might be a better idea.

Like what everyone else said, charge up a Savage Blade by smacking Melusine with a Fast Blade first. I was having the same issue the first time our group went into T7. Was too obsessed with only using a charged ROH. It made all the difference in the world to just used a charged Savage.

I would recommend to not do this unless a Renaud has already popped and is being kited or if you actually timed the 50 secs between each spawn to know that it won't pop when the adds spawn.

This really sounds like an issue with your healers. There's no reason for them to be aoe healing at all. I will if the ranged happen to wander too close to the raid and get us hit with flames but I opt for medica since it has more burst, the damage isn't consistent and know adds will be spawning.

Make sure your healers are sharing the pain in healing ranged and not just designating that to one person. I heal OT and one ranged while our scholar heals MT and one ranged (our group has two melee). We share any extra raid healing needed.

Actually, unless you're both WHM, it's better for the WHM to just keep regen on the ranged, especially if you only have two.

This. A regen is enough to heal to full between two fireballs, lasting for two full sets. Easy mode.

If the healers have HoTs up and those HoTs tick just before the mob actually appears, it will take a moment to recognize that threat and start moving towards healers, even if your RoH has already hit. Direct heals and buffs seem not to be noted until your attacks would be as well. If the ticks go off a moment later, you're fine. RoH will also give more time for the add to notice and move towards healers than SB. (If your BLM tends to open up on the add with a Firestarter and SC-Flare for whatever reason, etc., SB and RoH will be a better initial grab anyways). Flash can be cast just before the mob actually appears and still catch it, but... the chances of that going badly make that advantage nearly null.

Edit: In short, your OT should be able to hit the mob before it moves most of the time, HoTs or not, but bad luck on HoT tick timings seemingly can make it impossible to stop at least some bungee-ing towards the heals.

Mobs like to "queue" attacks on someone as soon as they spawn and get that attack off before they switch targets. This is why mobs will chase a healer even though you're targeted. I play warrior as OT on t7 and let the paladin MT. Tomahawk usually does enough threat to keep them off the healers. Knowing exactly when and where they spawn also helps. We also have the MT pick up the first add, provoke the second at 50%... that gives me more than enough time to queue a Butcher's Block and make sure I have Inner Beast up to pick up the adds as well as being in position when they spawn.

I do this, actually. I just don't understand why the OP's healers would be using medica 2 before add spawn unless there's a whole lot of avoidable damage happening.

Only spike group damage would be from the the Arrow Deluge from the 4 Archer adds, but otherwise Fireballs can be healed with targeted Cures.
