Coil Lockout Griefing

It isn't right that people can purposefully prevent other parties who are making an effort to learn things from doing so by taking them into a later turn and locking them out of their agreed upon destination.

Given the fact that this was also an issue back in the first coil when it had a lockout, it's ridiculous that GM's still can't reset it for you. Everything is in the logs, they have all the proof they should need to verify you aren't just cheating the system and trying to score more loot.

I get that GM's can't control the actions of others, and they can punish the person who does it. But that doesn't do the people affected any good when they now have to wait to try to complete the content.

Seriously. Fix this. When Coil 3 comes let's not have people doing this same stuff. kthxbai.

it's simple when you join a party have 1 member stay out of the area and have the leader try to enter it will say what turn they are on.

It shouldn't have to come to that though. People shouldn't have to expect someone to screw them over and try to out think the person first. And people aren't going to constantly have that on their mind to do when joining a group.

Therefore, when it happens, it should be something the GMs can actually do something helpful about. I care less about the jerk being punished than I do about being able to complete the content I wanted to do.

I've learned my lesson now. My character will be joining parties and stripping her armor until i see the can't enter message.

This has been happening since a few weeks after release and nothing has ever been done about it. People would still be trying to clear turn 1 and somebody would make a party and take everyone into turn 4 or 5 screwing everyone over for the week. It seems like it would be so easy to add something once the party leader clicks to enter that everyone else gets a notification asking do you want to enter turn X? Yes or no?

Exactly. It cannot be that hard to implement some sort of check to make sure people aren't being taken into the wrong one. OR even put a timer like the kick timer, duty has to be commenced for such and such minutes before it actually locks you out of previous turns.

i wish lockouts would go away entirely. I'm much more a fan of the limited loot system rather than not being able to do content entirely.

unequiped all your gear Open up a npc menu change your job to a Doh or Dol and let them try and enter and it will tell you what coil you are going into.

Autumn, I agree. I'd rather be able to go back and help people, or just do the fights again because they're fun, or get help when I need it from someone who's already done it, even if I only got to see loot the first time i went in.

And Destinova, like I said earlier, it shouldn't have to come to that. Sure that solves the issue, but you're not always going to think about that when joining a party. Sometimes you're just like. Tonight I beat Turn X, and you're all excited that the group seems solid and then boom, you're screwed over by one jerk in the group who claimed to have a shortcut.

Overall, I feel like the game should protect the players from this kind of griefing, or at least be able to resolve it when the problem arises.

Post on J part of the forum seems to indicate you will see and be able to confirm the turn you're about to enter with 2.3.

I disagree. The fights stay fun to me because they're almost like a special event I get to participate in once a week. There's no lockout on Leviathan Extreme, and I hate that fight now. I'd like a mirror, especially after losing rolls on three, so I keep doing it. But it isn't fun at all anymore. I'm guessing Rafflesia, Melusine, etc. would all be the same if I was doing them 20+ times in a day.

On topic, yes it was stupid there was no notification in the original Coil, and it's even stupider there still isn't one now.

And I get what you mean Tegan. We'd burn out too easily on it if it wasn't locked the way it is. Which is likely why it is that, to give us something to focus on while they pump out more content.
Still would like to be able to go out and help my friends with it. But that's beside the point.

Locks should not enable until you kill the boss or 1st boss, that would save everyone from this issue
