Scholar's Book of Diamonds

I do not understand why the developers place +44 spell speed to the Scholar's Book of Diamonds.
I personally prefer stacking Critical Rate for Scholar so I'm really sad that the Book of Diamonds gives spell speed instead. :(
I do know that High Allagan Grimoire of Healing gives +46 Critical Rate but not everyone can clear T9 that quickly!

I would love to hear the opinions on other Scholars as well!

I feel the better gear should drop from harder fights.

My static SCH is using the Allagan Grimoire till we beat t9 and get him the High Allagan one.

Book of Diamonds IMO is not worth wasting the sand. Scholar with the allagon from T5 is good enough for T9 unless you have sands to spare. It is better spent on dps and tank upgrades.

Basically yes, Allagan tome until High Allagan. Allagan tome is enough for everything up to T9. We still have yet to see how Novus stats will be. Some people said you could choose the stats.

Get your Animus. Novus should allow Scholars to customize with crit and will be the best option until you get high allagan.

Developers like variety. They don't want pieces of gear to always have the same secondary stats. Even if it's not desirable. They will push the spell and skill speed down your throat whether you like it or not.

That's fine an well but I from a personal standpoint I cannot forgive the stats placed on the extreme book for scholar. :\

Spell spead on book of diamonds is not the worst thing that can happen. Spell speed on t9 smn book is.

Seems like sticking to T5 book is the best option I can find :(

Stacking crit is kind of a thing for bards too (procs an ability in the same way), but in our case, the High allagan weapon is the one that doesn't have crit...
The Gerolt weapon does though... I guess in the bard's case the extra weapon damage of the high allagan might make up for it, but it's enough to consider not using "the best weapon in the game atm"... :/ At worst, for bards, the High Allagan weapon just looks better but isn't much of a upgrade since crit is so important.

Still, seeing how what our scholar has to deal with, I think having the easier to get weapon have the best stats is probably the better thing.

But that 2.47 second recast is soooooo goooooood.

WD > Crit.

In any case with HA Bow you still can pass the 500 crit threshold for BRDs. The DPS between the HA Bow and the Rosenbogen is rather significant (2 WD).
