Knowing You're Prepared

So I had this idea and I'm just throwing it out there for fun. I think it'd be nice if SE implemented training dummies that emulated the kind of accuracy and DPS you would need to enter a certain turn on BoC. I say this because like it or not you have to be prepared for those fights (among others) and it's a bad idea to go in unprepared and under geared.

For example: let's say you want to enter T5, go fight the training dummy that represents T5. If you miss it, your acc is too low, nail it, you're ready as far as acc goes. Also, give it a timer. After a certain amount of time it'll "grade" you on your damage output and you would prefer a certain minimum grade to enter that turn.

Just an idea.

The acc caps for content are well known. You can just check if you reach that number or not. :)

Yeah predictive text screwed me on half that post. As for looking up the accuracy caps, I like to try and play a game looking up as little as possible to help me, feels like cheating. You're always gonna have liars no matter what. The first time I beat Levi I joined a party that required you beaten it already. They never knew.

I don't wanna just jump in and try it without knowing if I can hit or not. I don't wanna be a detriment to the team. I can look it up but it's possible I could find 5 different answers.

Like I said, a random idea but I don't think it'll bring anything bad to the game that's not already there.

I agree with OP. It wouldn't be detrimental, and it'd be a nice little tool to help you practice by analyzing your output. Nothing compares to the real thing, but a little earned confidence goes a long way.

Accuracy needs to be a requirement for BCoB in DF. One turn 1 run had the tank in 90% ilvl 70 PvP gear with around 360 acc. He literally got one-shotted by Cad. When he was told that his gear is not any good for coil and better to leave and work on his gear before attempting Coil he got all aggressive and said wouldn't leave and for us to "deal with it".

Vote kick ensued, another tank joined and it was a breeze.

By adding the acc requirement that would pretty much stop players dodging the ilvl requirements by gearing unoptimally to be able to queue. Albeit it won't stop wearing the wrong accs XD

It is. But some feel that they "don't have to" put any effort into reading up on the end-game content and have rest of the party carry them with no effort on their part.

Acc needs to be given more precedence in its importance in end game. Or better yet, imo, get rid of it :D Allow us more flexibility in putting together different sets of armer without having to focus on that one stat which limits us way too much.

Yeah, but he also said Coil was implemented for serious end-game players, and that there's no reason to go through it if you don;t want to get to that level. I believe thats why it starts off not on DF. Most players who want to go through it prepare themselves, though there are a few who just want to be carried, or don't take it seriously enough. I think for those that do, who don't want to use parsers, the OP's idea has a lot of merit.

I also agree that there should be an ACC requirement for DF for the Coil.

So you go to BCoB to get gear but you can't get in BCoB because you don't have gear.

I think the ilvl requirement is already enough. It's just that it's ridiculously low.

That's not entirely true... DL gear had way more ACC than you need for First Coil. After that, you balanced Hero and Coil loot to get the required ACC. T1 and T2 required lower ACC than T4, and T4 lower than T5. When Second Coil was released, we had the options available to us, along with food, to get to the new cap and work from there.

I think listing the acc cap in the DF would be a solution without actually making it req'd.

Take BRD for example. If a BRD geared up solely in Allagan from first coil they wouldn't have enough accuracy as the stat isn't on most of the gear. BRD has to wear quite a few pieces of Myth gear to get adequate accuracy. Not so much cap anymore as Echo counters that very small miss chance of being a few points under. But being something like 100 accuracy under the cap would cause you to miss more than hit.
