Tired of the BS threads and Reddit comments.... (Accuracy)

So, Been trying to research this for awhile. But keep getting different opinions. Alot of people are saying you don't need Accuracy caps for Primal EX fights, then others are saying that Leviathan EX required 475acc. Which do I believe at this point??

I got two sets for my bard, One for Coil with high Acc and Crit. And a Primal Set with low Acc. Good Crit, and a strong Det build.

Reason why I bring this up, I have the Elfen Bow that I want to use for my Primal build, and keep my Zenith for Coil. If I switch out, I will lose even more ACC? So, I need to know if there is a accuracy cap, or even if accuracy is required for Primal fights in general?

Wanna start doing Levi EX but need to know if my Non-Acc Class can pull it off....?

Levi is unique among the EX primals in that yes, he does have a high ACC requirement.

If you have enough ACC to do T4-T5 you will do just fine against him. Your low ACC "everything else" build will probably whiff a good chunk of your attacks.

You don't need accuracy for old primals EX ( Ifrit, Garuda and Titan ) but you need accuracy for Leviathan and Good King Moggle Mog XII. ( i think it's around 490 for tanks but i'm not sure since i play a healer, same as T6 )

Thx for the info! I kinda figured you didn't need ACC for old primals, I always ran gear that had low ACC for this reason, but now that I beat Ifrit today, was having people tell me I needed to swap out lol! Kinda threw a wrench in my Builds lol! But will make the appropriate adjustments! Again Thanks for the speedy response! :)

I have done up to T5 so far without real issues. I have mostly the weathered gear (head, chest, leg, ring, the rest being myth gear) and also have the atma bow (2 book upgrades for accuracy and 1 book for skill speed)
Rule of thumb from what i have heard from various people is to shoot for 500 acc on all classes, probably for T6 and above, EX Primals are not really an issue

500 is too much. Noone but tanks should need over 500. Even in t9, flank accuracy cap is 495. Old EX primals and Mog don't have accuracy requirements. Only Leviathan has the requirements similar to turn 5: 484 for front, 458 for flank, 435 for rear.

You do a lot of attacking from the front in T9. I'm not sure I would dismiss having 500 accuracy so easily.

Accuracy is a non factor for every extreme but Leviathan. For attacking Leviathan from the front (including spumes) you need 472 to have 100% accuracy or damn near close.

472 is also the magic number for the first coil except Turn 5's adds. You need like 481 for those.

These are physical dps numbers. Casters need 420 instead of 472. Summoner needs a bit more.

For the second coil, physical needs around 500 accuracy to be safe and casters need like 460.

If it's same requirements as T5, then 434 is for casters (although that doesn't really matter for OP). Second Coil, 470 (again, irrelevant to OP's woes).

All I'll say is, as WAR with Bravura Zenith, I miss combos. With Dual Hakan, I land them all.

You don't say. Unless you meet the accuracy requirements without the weapon, a weapon without accuracy will make you miss combo while the weapon with accuracy will be less likely.

I have an accuracy question, so I'll give this thread a try. I just hit lvl 50 on my monk and sit at 430 accuracy.

In terms of the level 50 content, I am assuming that the accuracy cap for The Wanderer's Palace is lower than the cap for T5. So, as I'm progressing through the end-game content, is there any way for me to know where I need to be with accuracy for each stop along the way? Heck, who knows if I'll even press all the way through to where I get to experience the late end-game content. I'd hate to sit here trying to shoot for a T5 accuracy cap when I'm squandering opportunities to do the most DPS I can on the content that I'm actually reaching. Seems like this information could be useful for a lot of gear choices that will need to be made.

Any thoughts?

p.s. I am pretty new to the game (PS4 launch, Monk is first DoW 50) and, but I find it inexplicable that SE doesn't offer rates for hit/crit/dodge/etc. That makes absolutely no sense at all.

Accuracy you really do not need to look into until you hit Coil 1. Or Levi EX which you will probably not be doing until you are done with Coil 1. There are different levels of Accuracy for the turns as you progress though Coil 1, just as it ramps up with Coil 2. Mostly, this is because of the incoming ilevel gear you will be getting.
Coil 1 look for around 472 accuracy by T5
Coil 2 around 495 accuracy by T9
Levi, use 472 T5 accuracy.
Nothing else really is effected by accuracy in the game really to my knownledge. So yeah, go less and stack your crit and det

Besides Coil, Coil 2 and Leviathan Extreme, there is no accuracy requirements for any contents.

T5 and EX Leviathan 472 for melee/bard, 430 for BLM, 450 for SMN w/ Pet
T9 515 for melee/bard, 475 for BLM, 491 for SMN w/ Pet
EX Garuda/TiTan/Ifrit 350+ for most classes

So, I come from WoW (several years ago) and with any DPS class, I always wanted to make sure that I was at the hit cap (meaning I never missed). To the extent that missing can affect DPS, accuracy still ought to have a role in gear leading up to Coil, I would think.

But, it sounds like there's really no numbers out there on what the cap might be in the lower lvl 50 content? Therefore, no real definitive best build or prioritization as between accuracy/crit/det/ss for content before Coil?

For accuracy no. With accuracy out of the equations, determination is the best secondary stat to stack, followed by crit, slightly higher than ss. I'd take crit over skillspeed because high skillspeed only leads to TP starvation.

Short of crafting the gear, there are also very few choices to choose from, so your selection itself, is pretty limited ^^
You are not really looking at many choices until you start getting Coil 1 vs Myth Gear followed by Coil 2 vs Sold Gear

OK, thanks. I guess I was thinking between GC gear, low lvl 50 drops, and my LW crafted gear there would be some decisionmaking.

Or perhaps I am just more accustomed to a more clearly defined mid-game endgame. If the reality in XIV is that gear doesn't really matter until Coil that will be a a little disappointing.

One thought I had that prompted the original question deals with overmelding. If the gear configuration between the ilevel 55-70 stuff doesn't really matter, should I really even bother with overmelds on that gear?

Would probably not really waste gil on the overmelding of gear that is crafted unless you are looking at top tier crafted gear. a few pieces come to mind that might be okay in place of the i90, but not that many.
Mid game for FF14 is hitting level 50 ^^

Materia seems to be much too expensive to meld on level 55 or 70 gear now. Consider melded level 70 a stepping stone to Myth and Allagan gear, you will (and must) eventually replace it with myth and/or allagan. If you are going to spend gil on crafted gear and materia, save for level 90 crafted gear as that will last you much longer at this point.

Run dungeons for most of darklight gear (level 70). Replace a few pieces with myth as needed (example, if you need to drop accuracy, or need more accuracy, replace those pieces) and start running coil. Farm coil for most of your gear, buy myth or soldiery as needed to up your average item level or fill in stats.

Gear will still help you in content, but as far as clearly defined end game, that would be Coil and to a lesser extent the extreme primals. (the level requirement for extremes is pretty low, however the fights tend to take a while to clear due to team mechanics)
