That would literally defeat the purpose of the low level roulette.
At the very least if you could go in as a class and retain your cross class it'd be far less painful..
I completely disagree however there should be something that would have prevented me from going to Stone Vigil as a MAR like an idiot.
I'd prefer to have the roulettes split. Thousand Maws and Manor would be the dividing point.
The whole point of the Low Level Roulette, and the entire Duty Roulette system as a whole, is to dramatically decrease the wait times of dungeons for people running the content for quests. Prior to Roulette, the wait times for most content was annoyingly long, even for Tanks, because everyone was grinding Wandering Palace and Amdapour Keep. Ain't nobody had time fo low level dungeon grinding. Then Roulettes came and, suddenly, queue times got much, much faster.
Segregating Job/Class seems utterly silly and defeating of the purpose of Duty Roulette. If you don't care for it, you can just run dungeons of your own level, FATE-grind, Leve-grind, or whatever else you like. Roulette is just one of many leveling options.
Hell, I hate running CM when running Main Scenario Roulette because it's normally filled with farmers who rage and openly insult and harass newcomers, but I do it anyway because that's the dungeon that I got in the roulette.
You guys call it utterly silly. A lot of us call it 'not wanting to have even less skills than the Class going into the dungoun would have if we unequipped our soul crystal.'
At the very least, I wish they would take RIFT's approach and let us change between our Job and our Class, but I imagine that would be hard to put in (And a risk with troll-scholars going Arcanist and then not healing 'because they're a dps'... Rift had this problem, too, with people que'ing support and then g oing DPS because of faster que times.)
At the risk of sounding logical, you can switch the slots of your cross classed skills to focus on the priority. The closer to slot 1 they are the earlier you earn them, with a new slot added every 10 levels. And if necessary you can always change skills when you aren't mid fight, though of course this triggers the long cool down and can be a bit annoying for some things.
Indeed they can't, but a lancer loses the straight STR increase you get just for equipping the soulstone, so it's all about gain vs loss. You gain raging strikes while on lancer for a few seconds of buff versus losing a small amount higher base damage the entire run.
Tanks will literally be incapable of doing their job without their crystals.
Wow, considering how little I explained I find it surprising you can glean such a result from what I said. That's the power of assumptions I suppose. What you seem to think couldn't be further from what I was saying. Pre-30 the abilities on all classes are balanced in such a way that both GLD and MRD can hold hate using the few skills available to them. After 30 things start changing drastically. Ask any GLD who wasn't able to get his shield oath till 40 if he had an easy time running dungeons or not. Ask him how easy it was to hold hate without his Shield Oath. It's a problem I hear from FC members all the time when they are leveling PLD. I guarantee you all the MRD didn't have the same problem those GLD did because they get Defiance at 30. Without those job crystals post-30 the tanks don't have the boosts they need to keep up with the skills and damage of the other classes. Limiting job crystals on low level roulette would just make that problem worse, and make it an issue for both tanks. After 30 skills are balanced in such a way that Defiance and Shield Oath are required.
Holding hate-aggro-enmity is a team effort, not only on Tanks. Thank you for reading.
By all means then. Go into a CT run without your tank soul gem on and please report to me how easy that was to hold hate all the way through. It doesn't matter how much your team helps you because you have such a low hate generation that they would have to be doing next to nothing in certain phases just so that you can continue to hold hate. Healing specifically becomes a serious issue. This becomes a major drain on the parties potential. It is not just the parties job when one player has a class where it is specifically their job.
Also, yes I know CT is an extreme example, but it would very clearly illustrate the problem I'm describing.
Discussion is about low-level roulette. Lets keep at it.
Remove soul gems for everyone, not only the tank.
I'm trying to inform you about something that would be a very severe issue, but you clearly have no interest in taking what I said seriously. Ok. Bring it in. Good luck with having tanks that won't leave the moment they realize their in a post 30 dungeon. Like they tend to do in all annoying dungeons.
The real point here Tiggy, is to leave the low-level dungeons that way. People are not happy to sync for helping lower-level ones? Only concerned about their Gil bonus and such? Sigh..
FYI, I am a Main PLD. I have all classes maxed (19) can't wait for ninja to come, i'm twitching for Fates.. ;)
So.. even when I get the longest dungeons in the game, I tend to stick to it till complete, helping low-level ones or others Alts, giving advice if asked, and happy with 3 commendations ^^
What breaks your heart, that you get bonuses? Seriously taking much for granted now? This is all sorts of wrong here. The roulette reward you with bonuses in exchange for your help with other players, usually newer players and lower level players, or players leveling up alts. Skills being locked out is annoying, but you do not need them in tam tara or totorak, and didn't need them first time thru there, nor do you need them now.
