5th June, as Pride said. From what I got, they wanted to release it next week, but they've had some issues in their offices and thus they need to delay it until that date.

I'm pretty sure he said echo will be added to pets as in Eos/Selene/Garuda not companions.

Well that would make a lot more sense. I saw it translated as "companion" by two different sources and assumed it meant chocobos. I'll fix it - thanks for the catch!

FFXIV is amazing! Keep it up Square-Enix!
