I noticed in the new images of the bathing suits posted today, that even THEY have a crafting tool on their hip.
Would it be possible for the devs to make it so that you can actually wear no weapon?
Remove the weapon and cause you to be on "no class"
You can use no skills, not attack, not go into active mode, nor gain HP or MP.
Just a thought.

Doubt it given they chose the route of Class = Weapon, so the only option is to go the FFXI route and make event weapons.

I like the idea of event weapons. They could be a beach ball for the summer event!! But no weapons would be nice. They could do a off duty or leisure mood.

I support the ability to remove your weapon/tool. This probably isn't an issue with anyone but with this system you are basically forced to carry around at least 2 weapons if you want to repair one. Second, it kinda does ruin the role-play/aesthetics atmosphere - I remember being annoyed when I wanted screenshots of the santa suit but I had to keep a weapon on. It looks even worse with the bathing suits and the random hammer stuck to your hip.
