HUGE CONNECTION PROBLEM

I'm so sick of getting disconnected by the 90k error every two minutes. I've contacted my ISP and my connection is more than fine, I've power cycled my router and modem several times. And have also tried just re starting my computer and I STILL cannot stay connected to the game for more then 5 minutes without being booted off. I'm so sick and tired of the connection errors and lag with this game. It's seriously making this game unplayable and I'm sick of wasting my money on a product I can't even connect to.

I am kind of relieved to see this isn't an isolated incident. PS4 player here, and I've been encountering these issues too- though my connection is stable. Tried to run a couple of DF instances and it was very hard to even clear let alone complete due to the lag spikes causing spells/skills to not register, or error 9000. Quite frustrating, sometimes causing me to be booted out of the dungeon due to a followup error 2002. Hopefully they will address these issues in the next maintenance.

been getting 90k and 2002 for 2 weeks now. isp says ports are good and my internet connection usually stays above 86%. so im pretty sure its not my fault. maintenance today says itll make the servers(worlds) more stable. here's hoping this works and we can all play without any issues

I'm in the same boat. I recently picked the game back up, was able to play just fine last week, and now I can't connect at all. Just error 2002 over and over again -- I can't even get to the character select screen. I'm fairly certain it's not on my end, either. Every other game and connection runs fine, and I've tried ever possible fix named so far. I just want to play.

Been having the same problem for the past 3 weeks, the game boots, but I'm unable to get to the character select screen.

Square Enix customer support is absolutely useless on the issue, I've created 4 different tickets, all of which have been closed and was told to remake them! Reinstalled multiple times, reformatted my machine with nothing but FFXIV on it, and still the same problems. Other MMOs / games work perfectly.

Almost lost an entire months subscription, what a waste of money this game is turning out to be.

I play on ps3 and I keep getting kicked from the server ever 15 minutes. My internet is great, I have checked it many times. This is making me very angry and annoyed. Have they said anything about fixing this problem?

Nope not a word i've been with this problem on ps4 for 2 months now. Game is unplayable but since we are the minority. they dont' seem to care

A suggestion to everyone with problems run a pathping in a cmd window and give that to tech support to prove it's not your end. You do this with the command pathping ipaddress. The ip address are:
North America Datacentre | square-enix.montreal.com | IP address: 184.107.107.176

Europe Datacentre | eu.square-enix.com | IP address: 209.130.141.243

Japan Datacentre | jp.square-enix.com | IP address : 202.67.53.202

You'll get a list of the latency on each leg of the trip and if there is any packet loss. This will prove to customer support where the problem is and hopefully let them be able to work on fixing it.

Today was a no go for me, I tried low level roulette, got DD, got hit with lag at first boss and D/Ced multiple times. Probably the worst lag I've had in the 2-3 weeks I've been randomly suffering this.

Those % are your loss. Now that address where you have the problems is the start of the data center SE has bought space on in montreal. Because of some ways servers are set up, getting the loss and high ping times at these jumps can be normal and not indicative of a problem. I don't know enough about SE's setup, but I have seen other companies make that claim. If you had no high ping times and no loss previous to these jumps it means that the problems you are having though are in server. I'm not an expert, I've only done some reading up from having problems in previous games. I hope that helps you.

Nothing was out of the ordinary then when I ran pathping besides those two, everything was below 10%. First run things were around 5%, second were around 3% or lower. So if that means it's a server issue on their part, how do we go about getting them to fix this?

Also I've had the lag hit me in a run and the FC chat is still going in the background, found that rather odd.

As mentioned above I ran a pathping because I am getting constant 90k disconnects so much so that it's not even playable. I have had to do cutscene quests multiple times and cannot run any dungeons without getting DCd a handful or more times. My husband also plays but he isn't having any issues with disconnecting. He's playing on the PS4. I play on a windows 8 computer. We both use the same internet and are both wired. I get no packet loss on the line until the end where it is out of my home and service providers control. I'm only pasting the part that has the issue.

So after contacting SE and my ISP I've come to the conclusion that between the two ping tests shown here the problem is the same regardless. Unfortunately, this problem is not in the control of ISPs or SE. The problem is with the hub that the signal is going through. I've tracked down the IP address source though not entirely sure what to do with that. It appears the one that controls the IP causing the issue is either Tata Communications based in Montreal canada or IWeb Technologies.

I keep DC all the time, last week I was perfect. Now I can barley stay on for more than 5 mins, this makes the game unplayable. I've tried everything I can with my router and contacted my ISP and they say that there is no problem with the connection.

Huge amount of info in this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2168562 I'd do a pathping as stated earlier to look for smoke, and take a good look thru Raist's post that I linked. Bad connections are very complicated and if it's not something simple with the wires to your house or a bad modem / router in your house it takes a lot of work to get it fixed.

its there servers got server lag they sorting this out

you lot not the only problem with the connection problems it is there data centre with the SE / servers

I play on a PS3 and I have only had this problem in the last week. I know they have maintenance tonight and just a few nights ago but it feels like since that maintenance it has gotten worse. Thankfully because I'm a WHM (largely because it's the only way to actually play without waiting an hour AND because I wanted a unicorn), I also am able to get in to do instances and don't get kicked but it is really frustrating. The other day people I asked in "shout" if this was happening and people said it happened to multiple people but today I noticed when I kept getting disconnected the raid groups were being really rude and saying I needed to play on PS4 or PC. I would think that is not the problem since you can now buy the game on PSN digitally again that SE would want it accessible to PS3 players too.

anyway...I just hope they get this fixed tonight. and honestly....I can handle getting disconnected once in a while. but every 5-10 minutes is not good. sometimes even within relogging instantly it happens. it makes all the E3 news less exciting cuz I can't even play what is there already in game :(

Ever since downloading the recent patch the "teleporting" latency has returned. Anyone else having this issue?

I feel like I am playing FFXI on a 56k connection, this is not right.

I mean FFXI runs better than this with cable/DSL, there should be zero reasons we are all lagging this bad.

I played on 56k before regular dial up on ffxi before I upgraded my internet, it is the same as ffxiv's right now, play for 10-15 minutes get dced 90k

Lamia Server. Just started playing this game about 2 weeks ago and have had no problems until the patch. Now I'm getting hammered with 90k every 10 minutes, and unable to log back in quick enough to save my group due to 3102 which is seems like a ridiculous amount of time to auto log a character from the server.

That speed test really means nothing. You have to check your ping to the server, is that bad then a traceroute, if that's good, then a pathping to look for loss.

From what I've seen in these threads it seems like most the people with problems are TWC subscribers.

Yup, this is happening to me every single night, just past midnight (EST). I pinged the NA servers and I have >40ms to them, yet the moment I enter combat outside of a dungeon, be it a FATE or even just a single mob, I get HUGE lag and usually get 90k'd. I just came back to the game not even two weeks ago and I already want to quit because I cannot play at night.

Run a pathping to the datacenters. See if you have any loss, if you have loss that is your problem. Most games tolerate high ping times fairly well but can't handle when there is high loss in my experience. If you get loss before it hits the datacenter you need to try to deal with your isp and their routing tables not SE.

Folks you are using the wrong IP address. DO NOT USE 184.107.107.176

I made the same mistake. It turns out that the above IP address in red is for the FFXIV web servers not the actual game servers. That's a huge difference. You need to use the game servers IP to do an actual trace.

Example: Adamantoise Server: 199.91.189.28

Ran a test just now, does the 0% signify my loss? Or is a 0% right off the rip mean I have a string and a cup connecting me to the servers?

I made the same mistake. It turns out that the above IP address in red is for the FFXIV web servers not the actual game servers. That's a huge difference. You need to use the game servers IP to do an actual trace.

Example: Adamantoise Server: 199.91.189.28

Someone has kindly compiled all the IP addresses of the FF14 servers, in case looking it up through the other method is difficult (as it was for me!)

Raist pointed out that the IP's are not completely accurate on that website. Apparently according to him it's showing the wrong IP address for the Adamantoise Server. He saids it's close enough though for testing purposes I suppose :X

Considering my download speed is 3.8MBPs and I play the game fine I'd say 60 is muchhhhhhhhh more than enough. *00 is overkill.

Yesterday I was getting this and it was annoying. Today it is unplayable. Every minute or two I get disconnected if I last that long, and when connected it is seriously laggy. Nothing else on the internet is showing any issues, and I've pingplotted to the server, and nothing looks unusual there (no packet loss at all, and no unusually high latencies). So, I have no idea.

I should add here, up till these last two days I was running great, maybe a rare disconnect, but no issues worth speaking of.

I am on Balmung and I have had OVER 22 90002 and 2 90000 errors today. :mad: This has lost me 5 HQ synths, the HQ mats in those synths, and 4 spots waiting in 25+min queues. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable. I have checked my ISP. I have hounded my provider. I have had the ports forwarded. I have done everything under the sun on MY end. This is NOT an issue on the customer side. This is COMPLETELY an SE issue... and if it means it's a Level 3 issue then SE needs to bloody well address it or find another company.

I have had horrendous latency issues for the past 24 hours.
It is not on my end as I have double and triple checked this, my other games run fine.
For the last 24 hours I have had several 90k errors among others, the connection has been steady (although I'm in Aus and 200ms has become acceptable...)
I have run speedtests and its fine. Here is one that I just ran and I have been playing on this connection with no issues for the past 2 months.

It's probably loss from your ping test results. You had a lost packet. I'd run a pathping, same as ping just with the command pathping instead of ping, to figure out where you lost the packet. Packet loss screws things up way worse than bad pings in my experience.

PS4 Lag/DC problems beginning around 21 June 2014

I just wanted to say I play the game on PS4 and for about a month it's been just fine, but for the last couple of days (June 21, 22) - it seems after maintenance as I saw mentioned in this thread, I have a lag on actions taken by my character, the chat continuing to work fine. After 10-20 seconds I catch up at high speed. 3 Times tonight I had a DC and couldn't get back on for a few minutes when trying to do an action. Sometimes if I back out I see an 'Action Cancelled' message as well. Hope this is being looked at.
