There should be a way to save our favorite vanities.

It would be nice so we don't have to redo them over and over again. Once we've made an outfit we like, we should be able to save it to a separate Glamours tab and then be able to switch on the fly with some sort of catalyst. Having to remember certain outfits and change each piece is time consuming and an annoying process.

Gear sets work pretty well for that.

I totally agree. I already have a few ideas for my dragoon and bard vanity sets, but I can't have two or more different glamours on the same gear.

It's not about gear sets. It would be nice to save 2 or more vanities for the same base gear, and just be able to change whenever you want without doing it piece by piece. Make your outfit, save it to a Glamours tab, then switch to that outfit with a catalyst at any time.

You can tell via Prisms that they intended for their to be a kind of commitment to a vanity appearance.

It seems they don't want people wildly costume-changing.

From a design standpoint, I'm okay keeping it as is.

More economic gain for crafters is welcome.

The problem with a separate tab or special slots is it would use more memory, which would work out on PC or PS4, but not PS3. And this is a function they want on all 3.

Not until they implement a wardrobe system, this would be a nice addition to that.

personally. I'd prefer they take some time to figure out a way to make it save to the class rather than to the item.

With as much "shared" gear between classes (SCH/WHM and SMN/BLM for me mostly) I hate finally getting a look that's nice for one, and then it either can't be used or doesn't "fit" the other class that shares the gear.

(As an Example glamouring the Daystar set into a cool "Schoolgirl" outfit for SCH...and switching to WHM which shares the same set, it now doesn't really "fit" the class)

The memory usage would be the same as now. The real reason is that they wanted an easy solution to make sure a 2 piece item (head + body for example) would always be glamoured to another 2 piece item. Instead of having multiple checks on vanity slots for if head and body are changed etc. they just forced you to do the actions on the gear itself and the gear keeps track of what you can and can't do.

Had they never made those awful two piece armors, the good vanity system would probably have been implemented. With reservation for SE maybe favoring crafting updates over design.

vanity in the first place should be casual side content... why make it so complicated lol

Should just went normal with vanity slots on top of equipment slots without all the boring crafting process ( - . - ;

I miss the glamour tab I had in Mabinogi. You cannot use the stats of anything in glamour tab. It covers what you are "really" wearing. It's for show only. Very simple system any mmorpg could adapt it.

We are speaking trivial differences. Currently they add a pointer to each gear that has had the appearance changed. And the alternative we are talking about is having the pointers inside an equipment menu, which in programming means a list.

Because the vanity objects take the same data size regardless of where the pointers are, we are only talking about if the memory location is inside equipment or a list. Potentially there are a few bytes difference in memory to allocate the list/array instead of having them be a member of the gear class.

Regardless, claiming they had no choice due to memory, is the same as claiming that if anyone throws 1 stone into the ocean, cities will be flooded by tidal waves.
