I know the Warrior can output more damage, but is it really the difference between a 6 and 10 minute run? I figured with a Paladin it would give the healer more luxury to DPS, so it balances out anyway right?

Person complaining doesn't know a thing. I complete SR's on my i90 pally alt, best record is 5min 40seconds. You were obviously better off without this clown.
No such a thing as 10 minutes runs just because the tank is PLD. I'm a PLD myself and I already did A LOT of Bray hard and my runs with my group are always 6mins or less. That was just a braindead assumption. :U

As a WHM I prefer PLD. They can HG for the first pull, allowing me to holy for 10+ seconds, followed by benediction, then more holy. They also then have all other cooldowns left for the 2nd pull. My best times are around 5 minutes, 10 seconds with PLD, 5 minutes, 40 with war.
I don't understand Brayflox snobs. Ask for two minute bathroom break, and nobody bats an eye. Take 10 seconds longer because you're a Paladin and not a Warrior and everyone loses their minds.
Yeah that dudes an idiot. I play WAR but ive also gone as BLM with a friend on PLD and didnt notice a difference. this guys just one of those perfect pt retards who think nothing but the golden jobs can clear content. hurrdurrdahurrdurrr is what you should translate that to next time.
I just loled the other day when there was a PF group sitting on the list for over an hour at 3/4 because they would only take a WAR. As a PLD I made my own group, speed ran for an hour. We got done and they were still sitting there in PF as well as shouting in Mor Dhona. But hey, at least your speed runs will take 20 seconds less.
These kinds of people are all over the place. I main a Summoner and queued with a WHM friend to do some SOLD runs to cap out. We get a PLD and a DRG. The PLD starts off by saying that since we aren't BLM's that we suck and our DPS is going to be lame. He pulled ... 1 mob at a time. (I'm i94) ... we let him die and kicked him. Then we got a new tank and promptly finished the rest of the instance in no time, which SUPER speed run pulls.
I am also tried of PF Bray runs with the only dps they want is a BLM ... Just because they can flare, doesn't mean they know how... and it also doesn't mean that they will be great dps etiher.... :/
People also seem to assume SCH cannot do Speed run when I really don't have much issues

It's definitely slower breaking up the pulls.
My first choice would be a WAR due to being able to use Overpower to do damage and keep threat, but in the grand scheme of things there's not a huge difference. I've had sub-6 min runs with both PLDs and WARs. It really comes down to the player controlling the character.
my fastest time was with pld and whm. cause pld can drop hallowed ground at start, and whm can hit holy rotation (divine seal, regen, cleric, fastcast, holy, presence of mind, holy, holy, holy, holy). whoever said this got lucky and had a war with tidal wave axe once, made good time. whm can still do holy rotation with a war because it stun locks them. war has to have finger on trigger for holmgang, and a macro so whm knows how much time he has to hit benny, or there will be a wipe every now and then. only other reason i can think that he won't let pally join is if he's a scholar? 9 mobs on first pull might take too long to get dot's up for it to be worthwhile while healing. not dissing scholar though, the time lost on aoe phases can be made up for through dot's on boss fights, especially if the bard saves battle voice for them, and makes macro letting him know when it's going up. a bad scholar would insist on war i guess.
people in this game are so worried about wasting their time that they waste time to avoid wasting time. noobs will be noobs.
all that time that noob spent dropping from the dungeon, finding a new party, and getting back into bray... he could have been done with at least one speed run.

I can't really holy spam as much as I would like to with a warrior. Whm can out dps a warrior in brayflox any day. So I'd rather take a pld imo.
The big issue is PLD aggroholding. This should however not be an issue if the DPS uses Quiveling Strikes or that they actually have any kind of gearcheck because I assume the DPS's was of the SR classes. This really should not be an issue.
It should really not be an issue eighter if it is a SR group. I except pallies to be able to hold aggro then :) I smell a person who is bad at this game and want to blame failures on everything but themselves.
Hollow Ground at first pull is OP. It makes mobs positioning very very easy.
Yes quelling strikes helps, but the key issue is the disparity between tank dps and actual DPS classes.
PLD has an almost imbalancing lack of strength at first with zenith/ clean slate atma, so upgrade priority should always be strength. (or get the levi weapon)
Once all 3 str upgrades are applied, enmity is loads easier. Once you upgrade to Animus? You have a lock, like in 2.1~
TIL: There are still PLDs that don't sprint during pulls for SRs.

Well, even if you only save 1 minute per SR by having a warrior. Times that by 120 runs and you just saved 2 hours of your life. While you can do other things while looking for an ideal party.
More of the issue is tanks who can't play both tanking classes are usually less then ideal for min-maxing out the runs anyway. (Either through lack of effort, or lack of free time to improve oneself)
Also I'm not an impatient or anything, I did all my roulette every day too with random players, It is just if I am going to do a speed run, its either going to be the best setup I can make, or with my friends. Not even to save time, just for the fun of trying to beat the clock.
Maybe he had a few bad Paladins who couldn't hold aggro. Otherwise PLD is just as good or maybe even better. HG and healer going bonkers with Cleric stance and Sanctus is awesome. :P The only ones who can really make a difference in the time the dungeon takes are melee DD. My fav combo is 2x BLM and DPS'ing healer. Fastest runs you can get.
Really?! Dang. I guess I should stop speed running this. I guess 6-7 minutes is really bad when I go in as PLD.
Sarcasm aside, I've seen more i75-i80 DPS and/or WHM paired up with PLD than WAR, so it very well could be bad experiences. And then the i92 WHM/SCH and i90 DPS get paired up with i90 WAR and they go "See? Much faster". Not taking into account the lower geared WHM and DPS and PLD they had been paired up with.
Just started healing brayflox hm speed runs and I don't care if I am healing a paladin or warrior. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
They do less damage but their innate 20% damage reduction is more beneficial when so many tanks get paralyzed from the aoes. A warrior that can't innner beast because they're paraylzed is worse than a paladin that will always reduce damage by 20%. And Hallowed ground is 100 times better than Holmgang for desperate situations.
Tbh Paladin will be superior compared to warrior when it comes to BF SR, and its all because HG as it allows your WHM to do insane Holy spam on first pack. Our WHM was pumping out 1600dps with X-int potion on first pack while also keeping them stunlocked for a while, only heal used was bene because they just melted when there was also 2 BLM's present. So from my personal experience best setup was PLD, WHM and 2 BLM's as that comp will melt everything up to 2nd boss. PS: Cover is also pretty handy in there
