Suggestion for change to glamour

I want to glamour my gear, I like the system, but I hate glamouring one piece on to another, gear gets repped in like a week in this game and it's getting expensive.

So my suggestion is to change glamour to be on the equipment slot, not the gear in the equipment slot. E.G. Glamour a headpiece to the head slot, not the other headpiece. Then no matter what you wear, or don't wear, in that slot you'll always have the look of that piece of gear. Unless you equip something that prevents you from wearing something in that slot. So if you had a head glamour and equipped heavy DL body it would temporarily remove your head glamour until you take off the DL body.

It won't be a gil sink that way! :rolleyes:

I agree though. I still haven't glamoured anything just because
of this reason, then again, it's not all that tough to scramble up Gil anyways.
What else are we using Gil for really lol...I do wanna save for P.Housing.

The entire point is to make glamour a gil and materials sink point. This will never happen; you should just stop complaining and save yourself some time. Just a friendly suggestion.

It's also meant to avoid straining the already strained and limited memory on the PS3. A slot based system would consume more, whereas this system doesn't.

What? It'd be server side not client side, the client wouldn't really even notice it.

How much do glamours costs on your server? Are they ridiculously high like 100k each or something? On my server they range from 3k-5k. First few days they were 10-20k each. So they were never expensive on my server.

Also, I'm personally happy the way the system works now. I hope they don't change it.

They are 20k-50k on mine. I'd rather them just had an NPC that let you unlock a glamor for each slot, maybe per month. Like 10k gil per month to glamor that slot or something.

Higher than on my server but still decent. I mean if you're a penny pincher type of person(which is not always bad, you can get pretty rich that way) it might not be ideal...but I still wouldn't want to change a system based on that.

I don't think it's actually the price that bothers me but how many crystals there are. Removing the level would be nice.

The main system games use for Vanity is a slot system, where you have a second set of slots. Which is what I was referring to, as it's something the client as to keep track of. That uses more client memory than the current.

I think there's something seriously wrong with your server's economy.
They're only 1-2k on mine.

20k-50k is just insane as they are very easy and very cheap to make.

Are they actually profitable to sell on some servers? I guess Leviathan server is just full of people or something.

Since they have no prerequisites to make, anyone and their cat can make one (don't need to even do the easy to get artisan weapon thing) so basically the marketboard is always flooded with them. They sell for less than than cost to make most often on my server.... Even if some rich person wanted to try to crash the market and buy ALL of them, which they easily could cause they are so cheap, *anyone* could replace them all, for the same cheap price.

So yea... >.> I know it's a pain to buy/make a glamour crystal just cause you want to wear a different looking shirt but... I honestly think really any system they go with will have a down side. My only complaint is i think their "levels" of glamour crystals don't make any sense for their existence. All they do is clog your inventory where just one crystal would do the job. I understand it was probably to try to help people make money on them by not allowing people to corner the market as easily on the marketboard but.... What market?

You could go into, "why is the market full of them if they aren't profitable"....but just don't....don't go there.... why do people list things on the market board for 1gil, when they sell for 25gil to the NPC? The answer? They just do. If it isn't ignorance, then the answer is: "Some people just want to watch the world burn" lol

Glamour is gil sink? Only thing there that costs gil is clear prism, and it costs 200 gil. Other things such as materials, gear - are obtained from air by running dungeons or gathering resources, and can't be a gil sink. If you buy prisms in market, you give your money to other player, they don't disappear - so it's also not a gil sink.
