We're pleased to announce the next Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XIV focusing on the many exciting updates coming with Patch 2.3! This next Live Letter will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2014, from 4:00 a.m. (PST) / 11:00 (GMT)!

In Final Fantasy XII, players could fill up a bestiary which, in addition to information about the enemies they encountered, also had pages filled with world lore that were unlocked after a certain number of the enemies were slain. Being both a fan of Eorzea and the lore, I was wondering if we will ever see a similar system implemented in Final Fantasy XIV: A realm reborn. Exploring every nook and cranny of Eorzea to fill up every last page of my bestiary is something I would truly enjoy. If not in 2.3, what are the chances of seeing something like this implemented in future patches, if ever?

Where is fantasia?

I also would like to know when the mogstation will start selling Fantasias.

What kinds of hairstyles are being added in 2.3?

Do you choose what hairstyles are added based on player-feedback? If not, would you ever consider doing a contest/poll to determine what hairstyles to add?

will we see an increase in tomestones of soldiery we can get per week?

can you tell us if you are going to add more ways to obtain the so far Coil exclusive upgrade items like unidentified tomestone, oil and sands of time?

Mini-Games, Please!

Will we ever see mini-games such as Triple Triad in Final Fantasy VIII?

Would it be possible to increase the distance Foe's Requiem is applied to targets to 25y to match bard abilities instead of 20y?

Will the next tier in Crystal Tower, along with pre-formed alliances still be featured in 2.3?

Will we see any additional gear for crafters and gatherers? An i70 hat and tool are not enough.

When will marriage come out?

What is the official name for the "Golden Saucer" area you are implementing in 2.3?

Any chance at a sneak peak of the new hair-styles planned for this patch?

Already planned for release in May as stated in the last FATE event a few weeks ago now.

Do you plan on making adjustments to the DoL/DoH classes in the future so that it will be easier to obtain the masterwork books/ilvl70 gear as more powerful gear is released?

We've seen development sketches of the Artifact Armor 2 sets for Warrior, Monk, Dragoon, Summoner, and Bard. Can you show us what the Artifact Armor 2 sets will look like for White Mage, Scholar, Paladin, and Black Mage?

Is it clear yet that the playerbase as a whole does not like FATES beyond the convenience of an avenue for leveling? Can you please stop tying important content that people will want to do for progression to FATES? It is not enjoyable whatsoever.

Are you able to reveal what the name will be for the dual-wield dagger class? Which job will it be given?

Will you consider adding a target HP % (percentage) indicator to the default UI. With bosses having percentage based phase changes this feature really needs to be in the game already.

Do you plan on doing a massive cosmetic update in or around the first expansion? Like add a ton of hairstyles, makeup, and tattoos in one update?

What kind of cake was Yoshida's birthday cake?

Are there plans to run the Lightning Strikes event again for PS4 players? Or perhaps will the item rewards/hair styles become available in other ways?

Will you be expanding the World at any time? New dungeons are great, but it would be nice to have an expanded world too - new places, more lore etc. Thanks!

Will our path companions from 1.0 ever come back or are they gone forever?

When will we be getting second Jobs for those classes that have yet to get one, such as maybe a tank Job for lancer or DD Job for marauder?

Right now it can be difficult to click on moving targets in the game. Do you have plans to improve this?

The area has been in the game since launch and is called the Platinum Mirage.

In the Miqo'te naming lore, it states that the U tribe is named for the word in their ancestral language which meant "Drake." What is that word? What other remnants of the Miqo'te ancestral language are there in their modern speech?

When will hairstyles be shared across genders, or is there a plan to do anything like this?

Will we, at any point in the future, be able to take our retainers out in the field and have them fight at our side?

It was mentioned in Tokyo that add-ons are basically done and that you are just picking a date to release them. Will this be featured in Patch 2.3? If so, what kind of add ons are you expecting the API will allow?

Are any improvements or adjustments being made on the current materia system allow it to be useful to those who have been obtaining raid level gear?

Would it be possible to add a Hug emote?

I'm sure it would be complicated since you would have to make individual animations for the different combination of races, but it would be a lovely addition.

Everyone is worried about hair. I'm not when will you add the new jobs.... I mean lets be honest.... in the server I am in everyone is literally level 50 on all their jobs... I appreciate the extra contents but a lot folks getting bored with the same jobs cuz ppl have literally mastered majority of them. I would love to see Dark Knight rather then if ur doing marksman. But, just a suggestion if u brin gout some more jobs u might need more then 2 extras cuz everyone will spam these jobs non stop. Maybe, add the red mage, thief and dark knight... I hope I wasn't out of of line, but I think a lot ppl love to see some new jobs... By the way I'm a formal GM from FF11.... So I know about dealing with those demands of ppl.. Thank you in advance... :-)

I've read that you're considering adding more changeposes - would you consider adding a few for /doze as well? Some of the sleeping poses are not very... sleeping!

There has been discussion about new jobs upcoming sooner than later. Will they be forced into existing class trees? My fear is that when they launch they will be already level 50 without ever having had the experience of leveling up. What plans are in place when instituting new classes? Or will it be like Arcanist where one can level a 50 Scholar and the Summoner with no practical experience is also max level?
