Error code 2002 and 90000

I bought this game last Friday, and it kicked me out with error code 90k when I first played and then I couldn't log back in. I was able to play last Saturday with no problems, but then Sunday came around and I haven't even been able to get into the game since (mainly error code 2002, sometimes 10105 I think). I heard there was a maintenance to fix the problem, and I'm not sure if it is now a problem on my side.

EDIT: I also meant to mention this is on my PS4, as I have seen solutions people suggest (pingzapper or something) that I don't think work for me because I am using a ps4 rather than a PC.

I see a lot of threads from Europe, but I live in the US, Georgia to be specific.

I tried resetting my router, port forwarding, static IP address, anything I could find.. and no help. Is anyone else in America getting this? I really don't want to waste the rest of my subscription without playing more than the one time I've played.

I started getting the 2002 error on friday afternoon. I have tried pretty much everything and can't fix it.

Yes, I am having the same issue. I have not been able to play the game in over 2 weeks. It started when I switched over from PS3 version to the PS4 version. PS3 version worked fine before that, and now I can't play at all, I just get 2002 or 90k errors if I even make it passed the character select screen.

I'm having the same problem on my ps4 just started a couple hours ago i was playing fine before that went to work and came home tried to log on and i keep getting either 90000 or 2002 still going through options i can find but looking at the list of things that others have tried I'm not very hopeful, I think the maintenance either didn't actually work or only fixed the problem temporarily

Well, I bought the game yesterday, installed it on the PS4.. and nothing but Error Code: 2002. I mean sometimes it gets through to the actual character creation.. managed to create one.. but then back to lobby error 2002. Oh, one time I even managed to get to the loading screen, and seeing the cute little moogle on the bottom right hand only to get another code. :(

SE, I actually bought the collectors edition back during your first FFXIV run, we all know it didn't go as planned.. oh well..
Now I was sort of excited after my buddy told me how great this game is, but at the current moment I am getting another bad taste of this game.

Its a bit annoying when my bud on the ps3 is playing with no problems..

So today I decided "maybe it was an installation error?" So I uninstalled and reinstalled, reset my internet connection on the PS4, and even went as far as disabling the firewall on the router, thinking maybe it was an issue there.

Nothing but code 2002, though at least now I seem to get a little further on other screens, made a new character on another 'world'

If you haven't already it probably wouldn't hurt to contact their tech support. I put in some comments on Sunday and all I got was the canned response check your ps4 connectivity, reset your router etc.... Really frustrating and doesn't really get us anywhere but it wouldn't hurt to ply the pressure on them.

All they say is the typical restart your router etc garbage as if we had not already tried that.

But we have at least something to look forward to there is maintenance tonight on ALL the worlds so maybe this is the fix on the servers we've been waiting for. if not i'll just have to cancel my service account and go back to DCUniverse online ;/

Never had a problem with this before. But since the last maintenance I'm getting it non stop. Can't log in most of the time and when I do get on I'm booted after about 10 seconds. Can't move my character or do anything in those 10 seconds :(

So, I finally got my copy of the PS4 to connect and work.

I ended up connecting the PS4 to the router directly via ethernet cable aka hardwiring.

So after finally marveling around the game a bit, for roughly an hour, without interruption at all, I was curious to see if I could play the game wirelessly..

Lo and behold, Error 2002 yet again.

So I'm not sure what exactly is the issue..
Other games I play perfectly fine, Call of duty, FIFA 14.
Netflix, Hulu, and crunchy roll stream w/o problems as well..

Oh well, I hope this info helps others to play the game!

Thanks for the info but that's not good for me as I can't hard wire my PS4! I need to play wireless. I never had a problem until today after the update/maintenance...

Got ffxv on ps4 on launch day. This has happened to me twice already. Once for two weeks. And now last week. Tech support keeps telling me to forward ports and disconnect and reconnect my router but tht didn't work and idk how to forward ports. -sigh- well im gonna try disconnecting my router again later on today. Maybe itl be different this time. I hope i can play soon

Honestly i don't think they even care that we can't play the game to be honest. Because we're not the majority that is on paying them money at the moment. So screw us apparently.

I heard alot of people having this issue for awhile now, but I was doing fine. Then the first 90000 crash happened around a week or so ago. No problem, locked back in continued playing. This happened once a day. Then it got to twice a day. And now since yesterday I keep getting the 90000 crash followed with 2002 lobby connection error tossing me out of the game completely. Sometimes I manage to get online for a while, but get 90000 out within an hour or less. And unable to get back in game due to 2002 error. Is this due to the ddos attacks or what the heck is going on? More and more people seem to be getting this and being unable to play.

I'd bet it is because some party DDoS:ing, in past couple days I'm getting disconnected (and laggy as heck) about twice per hour. And checking lobby with ping... 35% packet loss in data transfer... no other place (so far of which I've observed) has resulted in any but 0% loss.

Yup, i keep getting it too. Whenever i select my character i either get instant 90k or am being able to log in and have huuuuge lag, resulting in 90k regardless. It started happening since yesterday evening (eu) and it's really pissing me off.

This seems to be extremely common, and I try to be on the defensive side of SE saying maybe it is Ddos attacks, but this has been an on going problem since day one. Some months the 90k problem isn't that bad, but most months (especially after any patch) its horrid. since 2.4 I 90k at LEAST once a night, and I'm lucky if it is once.

I never got a 90k error until about 3 weeks ago, now I get them 4 or 5 times a night. This is crazy I have lost out on coils, caused countless wipes, and had Lots of frustration. I am almost done with this game over the constant 90k. I had two back to back this morning in cutters cry.

Ive had this game since the launch. I came back a month ago! and it was fine in the beginning then all of a sudden, 90000 errors! kicking me out of the game and when I go to log in it says cant connect 2002 error! game force closes im like ugh so I reopen and then it says im still logged on and I have to wait for ever for it to notice im not online and then finally log in! this games anywhere in the game sitting in the fc house in raids in trails at the market board! and its happening to so many people! its kinds frustrating cause im told this was fixed in update 4.0. but idk I was told its on my side so I upgraded my router and modem spent like 200 bucks then upgraded my laptop and wireless card and I even tried hardwiring it with Ethernet sometimes works better but not I still get kicked off! then I upgraded my internet at my internet provider but I still get it! so this has to be on their server side! cause ive don't all I can freaking do and I don't wanna waste my money and be broke trying to fix this to play a game that wont let me play!!!! im very upset!

I had a few problems early after release, but then it was fine until a week and a half ago Friday. Since then, I can rarely log in for more than a few seconds, though I do sometimes get an hour or two before 90000. The problem is clearly a routing issue from the server so there is nothing any user can do other than switch ISP / use a VPN in the hopes that the routing is adequate. Not being willing to pay even more for the game, I'll give it a week or so, then give up once and for all.

I purchased this game a week ago on the PC. Until the patch, I was able to stay logged in for hours at a time. Five minutes after the patch, I started to get both error codes. I duo with my husband; he's able to stay on consistently. The DC happens randomly.

my friend keeps getting unable to patch file on his ps4 and his ports are opened and everything. he even tried rebuilding data but same crap.

I've also been experiencing this problem with Tonberry since yesterday. Any JP servers. But I'm totally fine with NA and EU servers. It's even hard just to get to the login window and sometimes the Play button doesn't show up. When I get lucky to get into the Lobby, I always get 2002. One instance I was able to get to Character Selection screen and game loads as normal, then 90k happened then 2002. After that, been kicked out of the game (from default choice of a JP Data center that time)... :(

Note/Edit: I'm playing on PC. I can browse the net just fine, only cannot be able to use game's online services (at least on JP part). However, I just logged in Siren (NA) and had no problems with my alternate character. ISP/https issue perhaps? D:

experiencing the same thing here.. hard to get the "play button" and I get disconnected on the character server (JP Atomos) or the time when your already loading into the server itself.. T.T whats happening.. its reset tomorrow..

Getting 2002 this morning as well, i have not been able to access even the character selection screen, am on the NA server - Excalibur

I've been getting huge spikes where everything would stop moving and then load all at once. Been checking my internet speeds and they're still good. The spikes become more frequent when im in a duty. -Diabolos

I am having the same issue I'll be in the middle of playing and I'll just get booted 90k error and when I log back in I'll get the 2002 error code. The weird thing on my end, I don't have any lag every thing is just running smooth and I'll just get kicked. But it's happening every 30mins to an hour with me. Everything else on my net is running perfect and this just started last night. So hoping they do something soon.

I've been playing since 1.0 (and the start of 2.0) I'm also getting a lot of 90k and error 2002. I've never had this problem before until now.
I live in Canada east coast, not far from the servers so My ping is about 30-40ms (or less).

I have been using WTFast lately because I was having some issues with latencyin the past (Basically if I went to a area with high traffic other players would skip around the map as if I was lagging) but just today I started to get 90k and error 2002 nonstop. I thought maybe it was WTFast and turned it off but the errors kept coming.
Not sure whats causing it since I can't seem to login the game and when I do login I'm only online for maybe 5 seconds before getting an error.

Well guess what tonight the dreaded numbers came back. At least I was able to attend the wedding of some free company members but now am offline due to these lovely numbers respawning all over the place whenever trying to get back in from Que. Last time I tried logging in from character creation screen I was 396 player in Que to log in then the screen darkened like I was zoning in then boom slapped with these dreaded numbers. Guess it is going to be a long night. Glad for school work. Night and hope this gets resolved.

I am getting a lot of 10105, and 90k errors. And now, I can't even get to the character selection screen due to error 2002. I am on PC, and live in America.

I've been having trouble actually staying online too. I never ever had this problem til like a month ago with the 10105/90k errors. and now, getting 2002. Please, SE, fix this! I am not wanting to keep paying for a game I can't even play right (as much as I love this game).

And believe me, I am a tech person....I have tried everything in my power on my side to try to stay connected and play, but nothing works.

Maintenance atm. While strangly enough this time it says we should be able to play but we will need to keep trying to log in.

Well after multi attempts at my NA data center "Aether" along with "Primal" never got in, only had continual 2002 errors. Did give the JP data center "Elemental" and EU data center "Chaos" a try and got it on first attempts. Exited and retried Aether and still get 2002. Guess NA data centers are down.

Aether and Primal still seem to be experiencing 2002 errors. 12:57AM EST. There's no notes about maintenance, are the servers full? When will it be fixed?

Getting Error 2002. This is frustrating and the same reason I quit the game 90 days after the original launch. Too many issues with the server. My question is why even mess with maintenance on a weekend?

Why not hire some better IT guys?

Error 2002 trying to log into NA server Primal, multiple attempts this morning. I will try again latter today. I've never had server problems until today, no changes to system since I logged on yesterday afternoon.
