Am considering playing on PS4 so that I can play from my couch.
I am now playing on a 2560x1440 monitor with a benchmark score of 12k. Let's assume that current graphics quality is 10. What score would playing on a PS4 be?

Here is an excellent comparison video from IGN that might help you make your decision.

I'm on a similar PC setup, and my girlfriend went from PS3 to PS4. I often see them at the same and I'd say a solid 8 graphically, mostly due to the reduced resolution. You're also further from the screen meaning UI tends to need to be bigger, so you do miss those pixels. I upgraded my PS4 HDD with a hybrid SSHD and I also highly recommend doing that. I've got a raid 0 SATA array and she loads faster than me into every zone/dungeon. Disk access speed also accounts for delays/reduction in visible enemies and players, so it's not just fast-load convenience factor.
You get bigger boobs on PS4. At least, that's what IGN's comparison video showed me.
As someone who has played the game on PS3, PS4, and PC @maximum/60fps, I feel safe in saying that is a very bad comparison video to demonstrate the differences.
Edit: Nevermind, it's not so bad if you change it to 1080p and then maximize it on a 1920x1080 screen. Its default values are just bad for seeing anything.
playing on PS4 you get 30fps to 20 fps but if you use to high-end PC fps like 60+ fps you see the differences
graphics quality
PC 10
PS4 9
Honestly it looks as if the PS4 has better shading than the PC...as seen in the comparisons in Thanalan. But towards the end of the year the PC will get the DX11 upgrade and there will be no comparison! Perhaps......
Why? Won't ps4 get dx11? It shoud get it to, there's no reason not to do it... I think it shoud handle it well.
where are you getting this information? they gave no indication as to when the PC would get DX11
actually the PS4 uses both OpenGL an DX11
have a look here http://www.geek.com/games/sony-iimpr...u-ray-1544364/
this likely means the PS4 version is infact a tweak of the PC version not a reprogrammed OpenGL version
it was mentioned a few days ago that they're going to pick back up dx11 support towards the end of the year?
Here it is, its from the post with the next few patch notes on
"Work on Dx11 version to continue after the world media tour. Aim to release before year end."
i play on ps4, an my wife plays on pc, she actually likes my ps4 better because the colors are a lil brighter, however i like the graphics on her pc better, her anti-aliasing on pc is way above the ps4 quality, the character edges on pc are smooth. also she renders objects farther in the distance better on pc than my ps4. i noticed at our house in the Mist, on the islands out in the distance she can see each individual tree, where as i can jsut tell there is some trees out there lol
DirectX is a Microsoft technology that runs on Windows (and Xbox) only. Sony has their own graphics API for Playstation 4 that is similar to DX11 in terms of supported features, but it is not DX11.
It's not likely that we'll see any king of significant graphics upgrade to the PS4 version. It already runs at 20-30fps and having it go any lower would make the game completely unplayable. They may add small graphics improvements in patches (like the rain/wet clothing effect in 2.15) but nothing major.
I'd rate PS4 a 9.5. It handles shading and lighting a bit better than the current DX9 PC version.
As for the framerates, that's not quite true. You do get up to 60fps on the PS4 version, though in a place like Revenant's Toll on a busy day it'll drop to the mid 20's.
Thanks for all the advice guys, I'll give the PS4 a shot!
Looking to get a SSHD where to get one from that's compatible.
Also from 1-10 how much improvement will it be and about how much?
Before I spend the cash. Hopefully if helps for all games online and offline it should be worth it.
Because I'm crazy, I spent $300 and put a 500GB Samsung EVO SSD into my PS4. It works. And I must give kudos to Sony for making it extremely simple to install and configure an aftermarket drive.
As far as performance increase, most places you look on the internet will tell you it isn't worth it, because you won't see too much when it comes to booting up the PS4 or launching games. Maybe you'll get a 10 second improvement here and there.
However, there's more to playing games than just starting them up. And where a SSD really shows its stuff is, for example, load times when changing areas in FFXIV. It's much MUCH quicker. Area transitions on my PS4 are now faster than they are on my PC, which is also using a SSD.
Was it worth $300? I dunno. I don't regret it, and certainly one can go for a smaller drive for less money. But keep in mind that the game requires 35GB, and that's only gonna get bigger over time.
Well the game is capable of more then 30 fps on PS4 just sort of a last minute decision i suppose to lock it to 30 fps.

Yeah my bad i just changed it with the actual link.
Melting would be bad, lol
I suppose you mean cap it to 60 fps.
Frame Rate test:

PS4 frame rate is acceptable, however doesn't compare to a high end PC. PS4 is very good value.
High-end PC is 60+ fps unless you happen to be at the Limsa Lominsa aetheryte, in which case you drop to 24fps without fail.
The PS4 graphics compared to PC is pretty equal. Going from 1440p back to 1080p is terrible. Also the responsiveness of the PS4 is slower than a good PC, I find myself having to double click skills on the PS4 because it didn't register.
Pretty sure PS4 is above 30fps. Pretty sure PS3 is at 30 fps, but I could be wrong.
I absolutely love the PS4 version. It runs so much better that it did on my laptop.
My favorite feature would have to be remote play compatibility. Gathering and crafting on Sundays on my vita, while watching football is a good feeling.
