Monstrosity in FFXIV

Monstrosity was some of the most fun I ever had in FFXI, and although it never kicked off to full steam, it was really a well designed mode and felt almost like a whole game on its own. I found leveling monsters to see which one they would unlock was a lot of fun, and just being able to control things like the behemoth was always a blast. I think this would be a fun addition to FFXIV as well, and could even be used as a pseudo-open world pvp(Make your own boss fate? lol) like it was in FFXI. This mode could go hand-in-hand with the glamour system, by making sets of armor that could be obtainable from monstrosity for use in glamour, and could even have crafting materials, materia, and semi-good gear available and be an alternative to myth tier gear.

Thoughts?

Can't wait to transform into a Lalafell and mugging other Lalafells.

I wonder what Lalafell abilities gonna be...

Obviously I didn't read the entire thing (very large article, number values with no context or comparison), however this sounds hilarious and very interesting.

was this the thing with the camera that you fought other players monsters in an arena like place?
or this came later?

It was pretty much Pankration on roids.

Yea I remember that but came very late in XI's life though just last year in 2013 if I remember correct.

was fun as hell :D i always wanted to play a mandy or pugil :D ,one of the most interesting things FFXI created , loved it

to the ppl that dont know what its, its basically playing MONSTERS as u were playing a player starting from lvl 1 ( u had levels too ) and went on your own way to kill mobs and get levels ^^

its like playing the other side of the coin of a mmorpg , very fun!

oh its like that new PS4 game EVOLVE wher 4 players are good and 1 player is the mob and evolves with skills as it levels up :o

Oh man, I loved the monstrosity content. I kicked butt as this adorable little sapling, strutting my stuff and whacking things in the face with my leaves. It would be so great to have monstrosity in FFXIV. I'd probably play as a dodo.

This looks really fun. Would be cool if they ever implemented it. I want to be a Malboro! (not calling it Morbol) or a Tonberry!
