2.3 tomes question

HI there,

Will 2.3 remove cap on soldiery and introduce another kind of tomes?

Maybe the unlocking of tomes comes every 2 patch. 2.0 and 2.1 (No lock philo, Lock myth) 2.2 - 2.3 (No lock myth, Lock Soldiery)

What do you think??

Pretty sure the lockout will remain in 2.3 since you won't have time to get all ilvl 100 stuff with soldiery anyway

If they do, what the difference will be? Will they remove myth? It'll be no difference from before. Just a different name for tomes, I say for them not to do it. Leave it as it is. Unless they keep myth, sold, and add a new extra hard to get tome you only get from coil, etc.

2.3 will likely be like 2.1; increased cap on Sol, more Sol/Myth dropped from places.

2.4 will likely introduce a new Tome, eliminate Myth, and uncap Sol.

^this is where i see it. phil/myth has been out for a long time, i doubt myth/sol will have a shorter life span then the previous tomes.

I doubt they are going to raise the cap any higher than 450/week for the higher tier tomes.
I think the 300 - 450 cap raise was needed because 300 was insanely low.

Who knows, but I wouldn't hold my breath on getting 600-700 tomes/week.

Personally, I would like it very much raised or lifted the soldiery cap. A cap almost feels like a way to get you to pay for another months' membership...
Also, I do not get to play enough to reach cap every week (as I work 70-80 hours a week)... That way I could get as many as I could when I actually do get a weekend.
(It took me two months to get a level 50 WHM with all the proper cross-class abilities... if that helps you gauge my kind of game time.)

Sol cap remains, perhaps the new dungeons will reward more sols and myths but it's way too soon to either A. Remove the Sol cap or B. And/or introduce new tomes.

I also doubt they will raise the cap. 450 is perfect for this. You can get an accessory every week and an armour piece every two weeks. Keep in mind, some of us had to deal with a cap of 300 myths back in 2.0. 2 Weeks per accessory piece and small armour piece, 3 for pants/top. Yeah.

I did not play much before 2.2 well not enough to be high enough to see the tomes but..before myth and i90 gear was there different gear or somthing? Do they phase out old tomes in favor of new ones and new gear?

You bought Darklight Gear with Philo tomes. It did not drop in dungeons and was a great upgrade.

I'm thinking the Soldiery cap will remain the same for now, keep in mind that with 2.3 we are getting "more ways to get tomes". I suspect we won't see a new tome and the Soldiery cap removed until 2.4.

Oh cool this makes me excited then. As someone who loves changing up gear every so often I hope they do phase out myth for something new.

really wish the wrong idea on raised tomes from dungeons would go away. dungeons didnt get touched. some roulettes got raised. CT got raised. that was it.

If you capped every week since 2.2, your main job has all of its i100 gar from soildery. 2.3 should be a catchup patch that allows you to get your alternate jobs geared up to the i100 level faster, so between CT drops, Rumdah drops and a slight increase to soildery cap (i would guess up to 600) this can be achieved.

I expect increased drops of soildery from current dungeons, or at least a higher rate from the 3 new ones.
