without large scale endgame ffxiv will be a bust in my eyes and i'll toss gasoline on the disk and light it on fire, then piss on it. ty.
It will, just not now.
yeah but no way i'm ever paying for it till there is, so if i have to take a year off from this game then so be it, i'm not supporting se and there screw ups. fact i'll go a little farther in saying if they really screw this game up i'll stop playing any game they make and boy cot any company they buy. screw there goals of money i'll help a no name get to the top and crush them. :)
I'd actually prefer for smaller groups than we have now. Maybe 4 person max groups with the ability to link up 4 of them into a raid of 16 people. I have never understood the allure of large scale pve raids(20+ people).
if the large scale pve is implemented good and the fights are fun i hope they will implement it in the future.
So far a lot of mmos don't offer smart large scale stuff imo.
They all just have tougher mobs and 99999999999999999999999999999999 hp. That is the reason you need a lot of people.
I hope this won't be the case since so far the game is goin in a very none-creative direction and this would be the easy way out in designing such raids.
I really hope some developers start thinking about raids a bit in the future and get more creative since if not i prefer smaller groups by far. And its easier to create interesting content for them.
But if they keep catering to the solo-gamers there won't be a need for raid content since the more solo content you create the less "massive" the player-base gets.
true. I enjoy group content all around. from duo to a party, doin a lot of different stuff together. not solo to lvl cap then join a "raid linkshell". This is how a lot of mmos are made these days and its really bad design and incredibly boring.
And its not happening often that you need a large group if not for the extra dps alone. I would welcome more strategic changes in dungeons or on nms as well. Not just dps and heal spam. groups should be busy all the time but not just by dpsing their asses off. Some to kite, some to backup tanks (who perhaps get 100% one shotted every once in a while), enfeeblers, people taking care of massive adds etc. etc. and perhaps some who work levers or similar stuff... just for some examples.
Godzilla attacks Tokyo... 8 people show up to fight him.
8man is ok for smaller dungeons, sorta like how we did salvage. But for large scale encounters 8 is sorta pathetic... I am really against as the devs said the "Smaller group is the new thing" movement... it just makes no sense in a mmo. You simply need both.
I say anything below should be classified as low man if it is below 10 people. The 4 people thing... well honestly that is just sorta lolz for me... I sure hope they do not follow that path for everything.
Game needs solo content, small group 4-6 person content, full group 6-12, and alliance 13-18 at least if not making something for like 30 people... it is a massive multiplayer game after all.
I would like an alliance structure where you can have maybe 2-3 alliances, in this large scale pve, so it'd be 16-32 people who could group up during a thing like campaign or something, but you wouldn't have to group up to get into the instance, it's like behest, you can group up and do it all together and get the best sp, but if you had lets say 50 more mobs in behest it could support maybe 3 parties doing it together, and those three parties could form an alliance and receive more sp by having killed all the mobs as a group and such. We would need epic mobs to satisfy our need to kill stuff in large groups though.
