PLD and enmity after update?

Anyone else noticed not pulling ahead on the hate list like they used to before recent patches? i even got me the levi sword but I sometimes have a kinda hard time to stay on top. Biggest problem so far was when I tanked with a war in T6 and he kinda grabbed hate of me even though he claimed not doing the hate combo... we thought it might have been me missing a bit but no one in the group noticed any misses at all after looking into it.
WAR on the other hand seems absolutely fine. Mine is even less geared then the PLD...

I havent noticed that, but admittedly haven't had a run at T6 yet. What is your accuracy?

well if your were missing your combo wouldnt flash
i have been pulling hate from PLDs when OTing even tho i throw out Eye/Storm Combos first to give them a lead and then butcher's block combo for dps, i just call it being i90+ now and having 30str points vs vit

I do this quite often on my WAR, but it never happens to me on my PLD. Most of the time, when I do it on my WAR (if it's not within the first couple GCDs if the MT is slow on the attack), it's when I do Unchained>Berserk>Internal Release. Defiance doubles the enmity, Unchained + Berserk is a ~90% increase in damage dealt, and getting a crit is 50% more damage. With that, it's entirely feasible for a WAR to pull off of a PLD just doing RoH. If your WAR is pulling off of you because he's doing this, tell him to swap out of Defiance unless he's actually tanking something or until you actually generate a healthy cushion.

If your WAR is simply doing the normal stuff, it's got to be on your end. If it's not your gear, then the only thing I can think of is that you're dropping combos and/or taking longer than your GCD to input an action (like, you're waiting until the CD is done before hitting the button).

There are loads of PLDs I know that do not play well from an offensive standpoint (there are a lot of WARs that do this too, but they're not as common). On a straight tank and spank, I pull 120 on my PLD; I've seen identically geared PLDs pull a mere 90-100. If your WAR is like me and routinely pumps out 150-160 DPS, if you're only putting out 90, you're one of those PLDs that needs to learn to use your attacks more effectively (though I have no earthly clue as to how anyone could screw up "RoH spam while use FoF, CoS, and SW on CD").

I have noticed I took more damage than normal even with Shield Oath on during a Moogle Ex session last night.
I think OP is having same problem that Shield Oath did not take effect.

Only hate issues I've had is flash spamming while solo tanking T5. Either flash doesn't scale with the echo or DPS scales much better. 8 flashes used to lock the 3 start adds and the snakes on me for good. Since the echo holding them has been a chore.

Flash is just a flat aggro increase that doesn't deal damage, so why would you expect it to scale with Echo?

Flash isn't a flat aggro increase. It's based off of attack power. Since Echo is a damage buff, it wouldn't affect Flash, which kind of sucks since it's supposed to increase *everything*.

Just ran Halatali (hard) and on the 2nd boss and for most of the dungeon really the monk ended up tanking and I was basically useless the whole dungeon.

On the 2nd boss the group let me tank it for a full rotation afterwards the monk ran in and with 1 ability went straight to the top of the hate list. I've never lost aggro on a single target fight to anything and I really don't think I've ever lost aggro to melee dps before (black mages occasionally). It seemed like the only ability that reduced/increased aggro was provoke, shield oath didn't make a difference (switched between sword oath and shield oath, no change in damage in damage dealt/received). I tried using flash to pull the boss off the monk and after 7 times in a row (wasting my mp bar) I was finally able to pull hate for a few seconds before it switched back to monk.

In group pulls I tend to start off with 3 flashes/CoS then alternate between enmity abilities and flash I can normally lock down groups of enemies and not worry about loosing hate. It was definitely different this time around, I was wasting my entire mp bar in almost every fight and was barely staying on top in some cases losing hate entirely.

They're going to just ignore that bug report since you didn't use the form, so you may want to edit it before that happens.

I've had monsters flat out turn away from me as if I were boring them, right after wrapping up a hate combo. I don't know what's going on, but something definately changed with the patch.

I had this happen to me during a Levi run where I zoned in with ShO up. I turned it off and then back on again, and it went back to working as normal.

Disagree. I was holding hate vs. our i97 BLM in T4 farming last night just fine on PLD. Haven't noticed any increase/decrease in enmity gains. Also was T5 OT Farming with a random pug last night, and I was easily passing the Warrior if I remained in Shield Oath, and kept slightly under pace for Sword Oath. No problems to speak of on adds.

Sounds like the previous bug they 'fixed' that Faeye and Kitru are bringing up. Perhaps it's ghost is still in the system causing havoc. I haven't had any issues personally with zoning in and out, but sounds like there might be exceptions happening.

For funsies to try and solo the Gladiator enemy in Halatali Hard, I did a run as WAR before, then PLD next. The only difference between them right now is my WAR has Zenith and 90 head gear, PLD is the same otherwise plus Shield of course. I noticed I was having some hate issues with the Dragoon on the team, and I mean, I start a fight, Flash three times, with Shield Oath, start making my rotations, and something was already going after him. My PLD is item level 89, that's not awful, and a DRG with near similar gear as me was pulling off extremely easy, same with the Bard in the party. I emptied MP several times trying to hold and kept losing it anyways, RoH combos were barely affecting my enmity, only if I was wailing on something for a minute or so with no one else, like the final bosses when you tank the caster and the creature who's race I can't remember right now, was Enmity being maintained.

If something wanted to convince me to stay on WAR it certainly has now.

been tanking Levi T6-8 for the last week, never saw any different. altho, I'm Oath dance quite a lot in levi and T6 LOL
