3 weeks - 6 Atmas. Trying to do 1-2 hrs a day and about the same luck as you. Anymore than 2 hours and I fall asleep on my keyboard.
i tried the reddit post about specific time drops per zone and had best luck doing them in JST time (friend did in PST time just as fast tho) had 5 from testing time zones out then ran thro 7 in about 6 hours when i saw novus was postponed til 2.28 ; ;
The timezone thing is just a placebo, I tried 2 zones at their specific JP times 2 days in a row with no drop. Luck based RNG is just that. I went about 20+ hours of farming, an hour or 2 a day, and only ended up with two atma. Yesterday I sat down and went on the grind hard, and was able to get the remaining 10 atma in about 12 hours total (Soloing boss only fates in a few zones was my huge time sink).
Just keep at it, and eventually you will get the atma, may RNGesus be with you.
Ditto. I tried the timezone trick and it was just smoke and mirrors. I got all my atmas by doing them at random times
yeah, been a fun game until now I'm done until they increase the drop rate dramatically.
250 fates, no atmas. screw this idiotic BS.
:/ Idunno what to tell you guys. I've only spent a total of around 6 to 8 hours looking for them, having started the quest recently, and at the time of writing this have 11/12 Atma. It's just RNG being terrible, as it always is. The only time I ever ran into a problem while hunting them was when I forgot to empty my inventory because I didn't know that for about 45min it was full, so I couldn't find anything anyway.
Best of luck!
My problem isn't that this is hard. It's not hard. Low level FATE grinding. If anything it's easy, but boring. The problem is that there's no gauge for how well you're doing. I've burned 80 hours of my life at this point, sitting in front of my computer doing content that bores me for very little payout. The kick in the teeth is seeing people doing the same thing in 10 - 20 hours. Why do I get punished because I'm not as lucky as them? What a terrible system for advancement. ><
The worst part is a bunch of the people come in here and just say. "quit whining I did it, it's not so bad." The only thing I can think of is there's this weird sense of accomplishment that they get out of having it way before everyone else even though it's just they got lucky. No skill no effort just GD luck. Unless putting up with mind numbingly boring "content" is a skill.
I mostly gave up on atma and further. I do fates now only to get some GC seals for crafting manuals and ventures.
agreed. this really needs to be adjusted. i guess my luck is about average. ive grinded this for about 14 hours total i think over the past week. i have 5. the thing that is nuts is all the ones i have gotten have been when i switched zones. sit in one zone for hour hours...nadda. go to a new zone...10 minutes. frustrating...but good at the same time.
i understand WHY they did it this way, to keep people helping with fates to assist people leveling subjobs. random is one thing but something that takes weeks and is boring as crap...and then tack on ANOTHER grind (even though a better outlined one) on top is kinda crazy.
also i cant see anyone ever doing this for a subclass.
also, given the time involved THIS weapon should be the end-all of your class. there should be no equal...ever. putting in the time this should always be the BiS...and not by the slimmest of margins.
all ppl that like it are the ones with a lot luck ...I'm farming since it started and only got 2 Atma , that s frustrating , it's not fun at all
I do Atma grinding for 2-3 hours a day, hopping zones roughly every hour. I have been doing it this way since the Atma was released. By that logic you could say...
30 days x 2-3 hours = 90 hours.
I have found 3 Atmas since 2.2 hit, I admit I am getting extremely worn out and frustrated. I can grind, don't get me wrong, but there is a line where it should be drawn. I don't feel rewarded for doing this at all, because I have hardly a thing to show for it. At least with the old relic quests you completed "steps", and with each step you were a step closer and you felt like you accomplished something. "Yay, I beat Garuda HM!", "Yay, I beat Titan HM!", etc...
With this it is just mindlessly killing 1000's of mobs, hoping you are going to get a drop, then repeating it 11 more times. In my opinion it feels very lazily thought out and there was no creativity behind the idea. I know they are trying to keep players tied up in the game, but this is a wrong way to do it.
I'm starting to think farming for Pink Tails is better than this
JP Atma Farming Theory
idk what to tell u guys, i got my 2nd set of 12 in a total of 12-13 hours, might be just a placebo but using it and converting to JST i was getting atmas within first 5 fates and moving to next zone, farming it for the rest of the hour "for the lower drop rate" and having the new atma drop in the listed time zone right after the hour change (3-5 fates) sometimes would get 3-4 timezones ahead
had a impressive chain of 5 in about 90-120m
Confirmation bias. Yoshida himself has already publicly stated that atma drop rate is only based on dumb luck. He even called what you are talking about "occult rumors" and kinda made fun of the whole idea.
