Fair solution to Atmas

Hey guys, i just saw on some forums a super cool and great idea for atmas for which i don't see any downside and why people wouldn't want it

Assuming the current drop rate for each fate is X%

for each fate you don't get the atma, the drop rate increase by ... i don't know 0.01%, maybe 0.05%

With the 0.05% increase, every 20 fates, your chances increase by 1%. That way you are garanteed to get it someday.

the rules would be for the counter to progress to not enter a duty, not leave the area.

Any counter arguments?? This wouldn't break the system and it could stop the QQing no??

Have it increase Chance a little by getting Gold in fates. How many Golds you get in a row could help. Not leaving the area, other than duties. Take out the penalty where if a level 15 was partied with a group of 50's doing their atma. They can still gain xp.

I got a better idea. Make them drop randomly from doing any type of content.

take them out of FATEs.

lets get real, they are not gonna change the very mechanic of this quest, that would assume they were wrong from the beginning. They won't do that. SO it just seem to me that the change i propose is still RNG but garantee you'll get it inside X amount of time at worse

I think the current FATE system with these terrible droprates is fine actually. I'm halfway on them, so i'm in between choices. I dont want to cheapen the experience for the 6 i already have, but i also dont want the remaining 6 to be quite as bad.

I think the only REAL solution is to make Atma's drop regardless of what job you are on or what weapon you have equipped. If i could level my lower jobs while grinding FATE's for ATMA's, i wouldnt be quite so upset.

I always thought they should drop a few tomes of myth until you got the atma for that area. Only 3-5 per FATE, but it would allow you to make some headway on getting your first book and would ease the pain slightly when you see you didn't get the atma.

The solution is to stop QQ and do more fates. The fate you missed while complaining probably dropped your atma.

Yea guys, no sense in QQing on an official forum that the devs frequently view and take feedback from, in the hopes of them applying the feedback and adjusting the rate. Get back to that fate were putting off, you might have missed your 0.0001% chance at a drop.

atmas should o been from EX primals, your chances may be better then these fates, lol

As evidenced by the live letter they know how many people have atma and animus weapons. They have all the information they need.

Right, and where do you think they got alot of that information from? Have they offered a fix yet? Have they even SAID that they were going to adjust it?

Until there is an official announcement to address the issue, this stuff is going to constantly be in the threads. So if you're tired of seeing it, don't click on a post that has the word "Atma" in the title, or rally with your fellow gamers and try to help solve the problem instead of criticizing them for voicing their opinion.

It would be nice if they used something like Blizzard's "Legendary system" or "RPPM system", either system is designed to help players that run into extended periods of bad luck.

Yeah, don't voice your opinion unless it is the same as mine.

The idea is good, and something I thought should exist already. Don't see why entering a duty or leaving the area should effect it though. That defeats the purpose and makes people grind more then they already do. Don't want to do anything else, will ruin my drop rate. Most people are doing atma fates in between other things (much more enjoyable btw) I don't think they meant for them to be hardcore farmed for 5-10 hours at a time.

Pretty sure I did not say that, please read my previous comments, I was pointing out the fact that it is not necessary to be rude and say someone is acting like a cry baby on the forum because they don't have the same luck as hundreds of other people and wanted to provide feedback.

Overall, my point was that people need to get over their elitist attitudes, which is a common theme among this entire forum.

I wish there was some kind of fail safe...I'd like to add my tank intot he Queue for Myth dungeons, but I've done probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 FATEs without a single atma drop....

This is starting to get unpleasant.

Wait till you get LS/FC mates get 5 in 4hours. And on top of that he is working on his second Anima weapon.

An alternative to implementing some form of streak-breaking logic to however the Atma drops are scripted would be to add an additional alternative drop like a "Fragment of Atma" that has a significantly higher drop rate but you need some multiple of to turn in to an NPC for a complete Atma. For example using the 2.5% drop rate that is sometimes thrown around for Atma, if Fragments had a 25% drop rate and you needed ten of them it'd come out to the same expected value. It's still RNG and you could still get really unlucky, but I think it would be less soul-crushing overall.

Of course there's always just making it a flat quota of 40 FATEs or whatever the expected value of the drop rate is to get the Atma for a zone.

Thx for the feedback on the idea guys. And just remember that i'm trying to be constructive, not cry over the situation. If the dev fix it or not, i'll do the quest line anyway but i'm trying to solve the situation and ease the problem that atma have right now

Atmas are fine, just don't try to get them all in one day.

How about the people that trying for 4 weeks and still nada? What do you say to those people that try to at least get ONE at a in that time frame?

I am not sure if this content will have the same ideas applied as others. But lets say that SE has not made this its own little universe. When the next huge upgrade set comes this will probably take a fraction of the time in one form or another. They are buffing people in other content. This is suppose to keep you busy till 2.3 at least if not farther.

You can blame the hardcores that farmed all the atmas and had half a dozen books done before second week was done. They need to slow them to start you are just friendly fire.

As long as Atmas are tied to FATEs/RNG this will be a complete waste of time for the vast majority of players. Until last week I would spend 2-3 hours early in the morning doing FATEs without the slightest hint of success. I have given it up as a complete waste of time. Now I just do enough FATES to cover the challenge log. If I should get a drop, fine; if not, fine. I understand that I cannot progress further into end game without it. So be it. At least I can do things with measurable progress and maintain my sanity. I am done now. Let the White Knight Fanboys have at me as I know they will.

PS Before anyone says anything I do have the quest completed for Atmas and I am using an Artemis Bow Zenith.

Yea... Animus weapons are like the fourth best weapon available or something... and considering that people are out there doing Levi EX and second coil without them you're really pushing it to suggest that having the weapon is necessary to progress into endgame... it's necessary to progress into the next tier of weapon come 2.28 or 2.3 but endgame overall? Hardly.

My thoughts with that statement was for 2.3 and the expansion as the upgraded weapons will be needed. Granted mt Zenith is as good as the Animus but later patches will upgrade that and the new weapons will be needed. You cannot get those without Atma first. Acquisition of this type of equipment should be based upon skill and hard work, not pure dumb luck. I believe, in that regards, my statement is accurate.

Wait... what?

Where on Earth are you reading anything about upgraded weapons being "needed" in 2.3 or in any expansion?

The ONLY thing relic weapons will ever be NEEDED for is further relic weapon upgrades. When 2.3 and any future updates and expansions come along the upgraded weapons will be within the top tier of weapons but there will likely always be alternative weapons available.

Trying to suggest that if you don't have your fully upgraded relic for each update you will be shunned from all further content is just asinine.

Crap happens?... But seriously though, I've been working on mine since release of patch off and on. The way I see it people asked for longer/harder content. Not mutually exclusive mind you. They got what they wanted. Now we can sit here and talk all day about how this or that could have been done. But let's face it. We saw this coming in some sense. I personally don't have a problem with the system as I have grinded far worse than this, 100 times over. Yoshida did warn us it would take most till next patch to upgrade their relics and he delivered. I won't call anyone a crybaby or elitist. It's pointless to do so. Opinions differ from one to the next. But there is much more to do besides upgrading relics. Could upgrade new armour perhaps?

I still wonder how many people on this forum lies about how many fates they have done without not getting any drop.

Wondering since some of the once i have read about in the various threads, have so low probability that you have higher luck winning the lottery. Well, unless SE set drop to 0.1% or around there.

This is a very civil response that quiet frankly amazes me. Thank you sir. Well this Atma system is a mess but that is and will be my opinion but if that is my only option to upgrade the weapon that to me I worked for (had to learn how to heal HM primal in 2.0) then so be it. I went the other route but it really hit home when I got the Levi Sch book. It just wasn't the same... I can't explain it but that's how I felt about it. But on another note I find Iit hilarious that some people that have animus are QQing about the quest being pushed back but telling people that are still on the atma phase to stop QQing...
