Hi, On PC and when trying to launch the game, the launcher hangs at a black screen and before asking for user information come sup with the following error.
A system error has occured -2146697205

me too !!!! I'm having the same problem , I can't start the game , launcher is black and error 2146697211

Same issue. I was playing finethis morning, now I try to start it back up and I get the black launcher + the error code in the OP.
Same issue. Was able to log on fine just after the servers went live, but I had stuff to do. Just tried to get back on and I have this problem :/
EDIT - I restarted my PC and managed to log on - but the black screen was there ages, and then when I entered my details, it took a long time for the play button to start up. I have managed to log in, at least though.

I also had the same issue, I restarted my pc, and the launcher was stuck on black for some time before coming up with log in details.
I am also experiencing this problem now. I had to apply a patch, and afterwards I'm getting the same error popup on a black screen.

i deleted my ff14 folder in MyDocuments (backup your character settings) then run ff14, and then the launcher worked

Server congestion, there's a topic about this, I linked to it earlier.
Not really imo. I think the patch sort of corrupted some of the player's boot.cfg file for pc version. It worked fine after i got a new boot.cfg file

I would say that this would be the issue had not the patch actually downloaded on mine and then while trying to apply the patch to the rest of my game it said it couldn't do it.
Same issue, frustrated about this we have so limited time to do progression and this happens.......
