Drops in the three new dungeons.

I really don't want this to seem as a complaint thread, as I really do love the the new hard modes and ampador
However the old tome items dropping constantly is beginning to get frustrating
Two Friends who needed to gear up asked if I would tag along
In ampador we kept getting the item drops, with final boss dropping only cooking sherry and void sent blood (both of which sell more to vendor than they do on MB right now)
Next we had Brayflox where apart from one armor drop, every other drop was the tome items again cooking sherry and the water,,both sell higher to vendor

I have no issues with these items dropping, but please give bosses two chests, one a tome drop and the other an armor drop.
It would help those still needing the gear that drops from these dungeons.

Or you could just do the dungeon again and hope it drops that time.
The game is already too easy as it is and people keep asking SE to make everything even easier and less time consuming to get
I have yet to see an armour drop from the last boss in the new dungeons, but I'll just keep doing them until I get what I want.

I think your missing the point, dungeons have never been about being able to make 120gil from items that drop off a final boss of it
You said it yourself you have yet to see an armor drop off of last boss, where did I say I'd like it to be less time consuming? I wasn't doing it for the gear, I was helping others, should they be punished because you don't think dungeons should drop armor?

Yeah I agree with the reagent part, but that is how the game is so instead of making a thread about it you/they could just do the dungeon again and hope for a better drop
I think it's great that it's hard to get these new armours cause they are great for vanity and if they dropped every time everyone would have them and they would lose their purpose (except for new players but they will get ilvl 90 really fast anyway so it's not like it really matters) I'm trying to collect the Pilgrim's gear for vanity but so far I have only got the bracers. And I think it's nice, it makes the new dungeons exciting everytime cause there's a small chance the items I want will drop and I'm not only doing a mindless farm for stones

I totally agree with the OP and was going to make a suggestion about this as well. I got fairly lucky with Fistfighter's drops early on, but this last week or so, I haven't seen any of the new sets at all, and only a couple of Darklight pieces. The rest have been mostly Minium or Aqueous Whetstones or Voidsent Blood. These particular materials are often worth an amount of gil less than what is earned by killing a single enemy in the dungeons where they are obtained. It is especially irritating to find two or more separate drops of the same material in one instance.

The other dungeons make all materials drop from bronze coffers, why isn't it the same with the Expert Roulette dungeons? Either crafting items should be added to bronze coffers and removed from silver and gold, or silver and gold coffers should be made to drop one equipment along with one material, or the crafting items should be removed entirely. After all, we have two other sources for these materials. One may turn in Darklight drops for seals now, and then trade those seals for the same materials, but not vice versa.

I personally wouldn't say no to the magicians set, but again I stress, they weren't their for vanity sake or to make 120gil, they were there for the now non purchasable DL armor, new players to them dungeons that actually need the gear shouldn't be forced to run it 100 times just to see a single piece of armor drop.
Etcause bu that time the tomes alone would of purchased better, to not see a single armor drop the entire dungeon is a bad design, now matter how you dress it up, and I am entitled to make a thread, not have some one tell me I shouldn't and that I should just run it it again

Time Sync =/= Harder to get, Just makes it more annoying to finally get it. Getting Allagan Legs of Striking is not hard, but ive done 180+ runs of Turn 1 and still not seen it, Does that make it hard? No, Just makes it annoying.

In Brayflox hardmode there's 2 chest that give guaranteed Darklight gear, 1 is after the 1st boss up the ramp and the 2nd right after the 2nd boss to the left. That seems to also be the case in Lost City and Halatali HM as well.

So what exactly is the issue you are bringing up since you end up having on average 2-4 Darklight drops per run.

Crafting items should drop off side chests, and not boss chests.

No, there are indeed two chests in Brayflox that give Darklight EVERY time. I have never gotten something other than DL from those two chests. The one on the pillar structure after the first boss, and the one to the left after the second boss.

I've seen DL in the save chests in Brayflox but not always and rarely, the issue isn't even about side chests it's that bosses are regularly not dropping armor just vendor junk that sells less than killing a single mob would give thanks to the Mb being flooded with them

I hope you're not telling me that you're having issues taking 20 seconds to clear a pack of mobs to get to a chest that drops Darklight or having 1 person run up and click open those chests as they get back into the group.

If that's too much of a hassle just clear the dungeon multiple times and get ilvl 90 gear instead.

To me that is the point of mmos, farming for that one gear drop you want.
This game has both, either you could buy gear from tokens (Which I think is crap, but luckily there are drops too) or you could farm from dungeons or raids. But people on this forum are trying to make every single part of the game like they want it, instead of being satisfied with that they got one part of the game and the other group got the other part.
If you think it's fun to do dungeons to get tomestones and buy your gear do that! I Like doing dungeons for the loot rather than tomestones so I'm doing it my way.

Just getting tired cause there are always threads about drop rates being too low and stuff, but there are never threads about removing tome stones cause it makes it too easy to get good gear. I guess those who don't like tomes are fine with it cause there are other ways for us to do it

Arrogant? You seem to be adding attitude and tone to text. All I did was tell you that there's 2 chests per dungeon that are guaranteed Darklight drops. Yet all you care more about is gil issues.

The boss drop more than just gear since people had issue with bosses dropping nothing but gear in the previous level 50 dungeons and those pieces of gear becoming obsolete. With talks about crafters having benefits from those obsolete dungeons instead this model works for both.

If you don't want to spend the time of day to get those 2 pieces of chests in the 3 new dungeons. There's alternatives to helping yourself to better gear. Like farming myth.

Congratulations on running Brayflox so many times, I applaud you and would gladly give you a special cookie for it, I do know where the chests are and as I already pointed out which oddly you cannot seem to comprehend is that the thread is about the fact bosses are not dropping anything except under 100gil items, that's not working as intended, that's a major flaw, even in WP/AK days side chests contained crafting mats bosses dropped loot, having apt he gold chests drop nothing except cooking sherry of the water is almost like telling people don't run the dungeon just clear up to the chests (which I've seen a lot of ether and potions from) but congrats on winning the "I wish you were on my server so I could block you" award

I'm just trying to defend the few things I still like about this game before the community turns this game into something only saaay 80% of the players will like
I like playing this game and I don't want it to change so that everything is obtained more easily.

If your friend doesn't want to farm the dungeon for the loot tell him to just collect tomestones and buy better items if he prefers it that way

A post with a reasonable opinion, with a very good suggestion that is backed up by facts. Are you sure you are in the correct forums?

By the way, the two chests people are talking about that have a 100% rate on Darklight items; I think those chests drop accessories only, not armor pieces.

Agreed. People who don't want DL but want some mats can just trade in the DL for seals anyways. These dungeons are tough enough for the fresh 50 I'd assume, so ditch the mats!

No, those two specific chests. NOT the ones from the bosses, are both DL, every time. Plus it's been rather 50/50 for me. Some days it's mostly gear, some mostly mats. And like others have said, unless you REALLY want the pieces for vanity, it's not a huge deal.

Those two chests always drop Darklight jewelry, which is fine. I geared my tanks up from that. I don't mind that mats drop from chests from the first and second bosses, either. I just wish that the only thing the last boss dropped was gear. Even my friends with crafting at 50 groan when it drops cooking sherry or one piece of coke. Like others have mentioned, those mats are easy to get now with seals, which are also easy to get.

Getting anything OTHER THAN accessories in the new dungeons is infuriatingly difficult. I've been running Brayflox Hard near non stop the past few weeks tossing any caster gear I get to the side to gear up my Arcanist retainer. It's taken all that time to build up a mix and match set of darklight and magician gear and I'm still short a pair of boots.

What they should have done is put the crafting materials as alternate drops from the med/accessory chests. Getting crafting mats off the first boss is okay, getting double crafting mats off the second boss is pushing it, but fighting all the way to the last boss and opening the chest to find a single peacock ore is down right infuriating every time.

Total agree, isn't fair on oeople who run them to gear up to kill final boss and get rewarded with cooking sherry and void sent blood..
