...Of the level 100 gear having less accuracy on it than the level 90 gear.
Especially when Second Coil calls for a higher accuracy rating. I'd have more to say, but none of it would be nice so I'll just leave it at that.

well it's always been a mix matched thing, some of my pld set has acc and some doesn't while some of the allagan gear does and some of it doesn't.
i think it's more so you don't have to aim for 1 set or another and can go for alittle of both.
Hit 90% of the time 100 dmg
Hit 100% of the time for 90 dmg
100 swings = 9,000
100 swings = 9,000

Also outside of coils ACC doesn't matter for higher other stats means everything else is quicker.
The new sets seems to push a lot of accuracy on the accessories. Not necessarily a bad thing but it does mean that some newer gear will be shelved in higher content until you get an upgraded acc piece in another slot. Heck even the mages get accuracy as a bonus stat on their accessories.
This is just 100% wrong. Not only in your math, but in your logic. What happens when I get to my #3 combo move and it misses? Not only do I lose emnity/a critical debuff, but I also lose the damage of my hardest hitting move and I have to start my combo all over again. Accuracy cap is absolutely needed with little to no exception. In this scenario, we are talking about Coil/Ex's, where it does matter.
Double post because I feel the need to post and example (and because my previous post was too long with this included.)
As a tank, I am having issues keeping my accuracy in the 490 range for the Second Coil runs. I'm even holding off on getting certain upgrades from soldiery simply because the "upgrade" would make me useless due to misses. The chestpiece is a good example. It has like 12 less accuracy or something than the allagan chest (not sure if that's exact but it's somewhere around there, not in-game atm.) It just seems silly to have higher item level gear be technical sidegrades to lower level gear.
You try crafted i90 stuff ?
I'm personally having the opposite problem, My mnk has too much acc :/ (500+) and alot of the new sol has even more acc+.
But i agree with what someone else said, its a mix-max thing.
The majority of the accuracy for the new i100 sets tends to come from the accessories. I'm fairly sure that if you have a full set of i100 accessories and a weapon with some accuracy on it you'll be fine in most casts. If not, there's always accuracy food until you fill the gaps with i110 gear.
Its a balance.
You can have too little ACC and also too much ACC (As in, points are not in other stats instead)
They don't expect you to get a full set of one type of item (weathered...crafted..ect), but mix and match (Ever notice that best in slot complete set was NEVER all Myth or all Allagan pre patch?)
There is a mixture of both for best in slot, which in the end will make your acc where you need it to be.
Let's see what happens.
remove acc from the game ._. retarded stat
I think it's the opposite of balance: some jobs can easily gear up with any combination of myth/soldiery and coil drop gear and have sufficient accuracy, others notoriously always have too much or too little and need weirdly specific combinations. One of the most glaring examples is PLD versus WAR, but there's also DRG versus MNK, or SMN versus BLM. And let's not forget how stats in Crit or Spell Speed are weighted for SCH versus WHM. Oh look, I almost counted up all the jobs there are.
Not a broken mechanic just very complicated to balance which is why they removed it.
