I'm so happy~

I got my Gae Bolg Atma finally about 5 minutes ago, it took a long time, many, many gruelling hours of FATEs, but it's done! I feel quite proud of myself~

it took me about 42 hours to get my first, and then only a few hours for most after that, #8 and 12 took 22 hours and 10 hours respectively


Anyone got tips for the best way to farm up myth tomes now?

If you have an Blm, Brd, Heal or tank class sufficiently geared - Brayflox speedruns w/quit after 2nd boss is the fastest method.

Congrats! Way to fight through the rng and endless tide of forum tears and get your weapon. The books are pretty fun.

Like someone said you can two boss bray if you have one of the jobs people are looking for. If your not it a mad rush just doing all your daily roulettes will get you at a book per week. 1.5 month for the final weapon isn't too bad at all.

The myth grind and book fate grind is not much better than the atma grind IMO. But at least you can say you have an atma weapon lol ><b

As some others have mentioned in other posts, SE will likely keep adding relic weapon upgrades in future patches so it's best to start early. I like glowing weapons lol and the animus weapon looks very nice indeed.

I unfortunately don't have much by way of the desired class for those brayflox runs haha. Only 50 I have is this here dragoon, so I'll see what I can do about that, thanks a ton everyone. and 1 book per week isn't bad at all, that's about how long it'd prolly take me to complete one anyways to be honest.

You can run Bray HM as DRG in a decent amount of time. Part of my static, DRG, BRD, MNK(me) and WHM, all i85-i92 can tear through first 2 bosses in less than 10 minutes. Full runs in less than 15.

Fastest I've heard of is 7 mins, iirc. Taking into account myth for books, that's roughly 1 book every 3.5 hours or so.

I don't recall the exact times it took us (not claiming it took 7, probably closer to 9), mostly because we were trying to get our BRD capped for the week so we did more full runs than not. Didn't take long though.

I think the parties that proc'd those times were BLM/BRD, usually i90 or higher. My fastest was about 8:30 with BLM/DRG, while I mained as WAR.

I found an awesome group in PF formed of a BLM/WAR/WHM and me as a DRG and we completed multiple 'first 2 boss' runs in just under 7 mins, then I have bad times when it's me and a MNK... over 10 minutes on 4-5 runs -_-

Takes ALOT of Braflox farming, some Fates can suck but isn't so bad. Made a ton of cash because of the constant Brayflox. I will admit, the Gae Bolg Animus is so SHINY!

I got my first Atma today. And that was it. I have no idea how you guys can endure that mind numbing grind!

I'm used to farming low drop items in games, I've played Ragnarok Online off and on since like 99-00, the card drops to augment skills/stats/defenses were a 0.01% drop, off normal monsters, and lower than that, even for the boss monster cards.

I think I have grinded in the older Final Fantasy games, but I'm a lot older now so this feels so....I dunno, bleh to me. I remember stalling many boss battles in Final Fantasy IX just to get the super rare steals and RNG there loves to spank me.

Water bearer took me a while too, actually. and it really does, despite knowing you have the 9 books after, it feels AMAZING when you finally get them. The feeling of relief is seriously worth the time, in the end, hard to believe, I know.

I got the Water Bearer a long time ago. Lucky?

Sadly most PF farming longstop want blm and bard only some anal players request blm x2 only.

I got my last atmas last night. I used the Japanese Local time farming method - I got almost all 12 atmas with 8 hours of farming - across 3 days.

I read that theory, has it actually been "confirmed" at all? The last time I looked into it at all it was pretty back and forth with people saying it worked and others saying it was bs still. Might be good info though for when I start on my smn/sch atmas

Well, I've heard confirmations, and then I've heard mixed confirmations regarding the confirmations. Either way - it worked for me. It was either complete luck, or a really nice placebo.

Seriously. Either you want it or you don't. If you do, don't give up. No matter how harrowing it may seem. I was close to giving up on mine till I finally got the last atma I needed. Going to be working on my books soon. Looking forward to it.

Until you start all over again for another character lol. I am 11/12 and really havent minded the grind.

After doing the grind, I think Waterbear will be the last one I farm. The FATEs are so close to each other, it's ridiculous. First one I'd suggest to hunt down is Fish. The area is so large and the FATEs spawn about a billion miles away from each other.

If you like your atma you'll LOVE your aniums. It looks so sick ^^
