Player Comms - Entering Dungeons as a Party

I understand the need to block someone that entered a dungeon with a party or friend from giving them player commendations. I do not like not being able to give one out to one of the random players my party was grouped with.

There are times when me and a friend use DF as a party and I want to give one of the other players a commendation but SE won't allow me to. I think this should be changed. Having the option to give one to someone doesn't mean I have to. Let me choose it the one or two people my party was grouped with should get a commendation. Don't block me from giving them altogether, just block me from giving one to my premade party.

Does anyone else find this irritating?

I literally came here to make the same thread lol. Me and two friends from my FC did AK for the first time last night. We ended up with a healer in all maxed out gear. I instantly said we're new to this dungeon. This awesome person then proceeded to take us step by step through the whole thing, showing me which pulls to make, how to position bosses, etc. We were under geared as it turns out. Boss fights took forever. This person tossed down endless rezzes and amazing healing. Not a single complaint and nothing but good cheer. I thanked them profusely at the end but of course couldn't give them a com. On top of that they gave me one lol. I would love to see this changed.

Any time I enter Duty Finder I always play with a friend so I am never able to give commendations. We've had mostly good experiences and several bad but the good times have always been because the people we were matched with were patient, understanding, and took the time to explain the dungeon if needed. They also didn't complain if the party wiped for any reason. These people are being cheated out of commendations just because I like to play with a friend. It doesn't seem right. I'd love to see this changed as well.

I mostly play with my GF myself, and yes it's frustrating not being able to give a little thank you to someone just because we choose to play in a party.

Have fun with all your friends (as it should be) or make friends on your server, and they'll become your static; and in a party of 8, if you are 7 altogether, then make it so that the 8th random one coming with us, if he's nice/did it's job, then let's give him 7 Commendations! <-- not sarcastic btw, I'm all for it.

Giving one person 7 comms is the one issue with it. People already use the guildhest trick to build up comms toward the achievement rapidly. Being able to go in 7/8 and have the comm recipient queue solo would make it that much easier.

I don't know that this would be a trick someone could exploit. It would be on the party of 7 to prevent this from happening if it wasn't deserved. Being able to give a comm and actually giving one are two different things.

While I recognise that some people would abuse this for commendation counts, I really do think there are some players that deserve it.

When my FC queues up 7/8 of us into a trial or crystal tower or something, given how much of goofballs we are, it'd be nice to be able to hand commendations to our 8th for putting up with our nonsense.

I see that 8th person getting 7 commendations just because an fc wanted to give them out... I can imagine being the 8th person being qued up and seeing a party of 7 fc mates, it would be a player commendation dream. If they can't commendate anyone but you... all the commendations will go to you

exactly what i was about to say.

That one not grouped player would receive the commendations just because he is the only one who can, not because he was the most valuable player, was giving tips or just being nice.

Adding the fact that the system would be more vulnerable to exploits like people here said, I like it how it is.

Uh not really, since many people don't even give comms in the first place and they can just choose not to give that person any as well.

Should be obvious that this thread is about people that give commendations.

If the run went just moderatly well, no one stood out good or bad and you see the comm window only has one player (again I am assuming here you look at the window...), why would you not give it.

You just said it yourself, no one stood out. I give if I feel it's earned, not "just because" That's sort of the point of the system.

I don't see it being exploited. The person reaping the benefit has no control over being placed with a premade 7 person party or not and the premade can choose not to give one out if it wasn't deserved.

Y'know, even if people "abuse" this, they get a title, a hat, a barding, and a mount. And some points. Faster. It's not exactly game-breaking.

It's also already decided, so kind of moot.
