What do you guys think will be added in 2.3? I know 2.2 hasn't been out that long, but I enjoy speculating on what's to come.

- Private housing and FC housing rooms. I wonder if this means FC housings will change and we'll have to redecorate them.
- New primal since we're getting one with every major patch. Based on the new beastmen tribe found in the data files I saw on xivdb.com, I'm guessing it's going to be Shiva. Unless that's being added in 2.25 since we were supposed to get two primals with 2.2 based on some interview a while back. Though I doubt it.
- New Crystal Tower raid. Most likely will drop ilvl 100 gear
- Ixal beast tribe daily quests
- 24 man queue for Crystal Tower. I wonder if this means we can actually form an alliance before going into CT and that we'll see some alliance content outside of just CT.
- Crafting changes
- Relic upgrade quest

- Primal capture. It was mentioned free companies will be able to eventually capture primals and summon them to battle. I wonder if we'll be able to form alliances and take them on.
- Frontlines PvP
- New PvP arenas...I think it was shown in the last live letter. Not too sure
- Gold Saucer (the location is in Ul'dah by the pugilist guild)
- Gilgamesh (extreme?)
- Chocobo breeding. Chocobo racing might be part of Gold Saucer and it's been mentioned that we will eventually be able to breed our own Chocobo. Given that we're going to have private housing, Chocobo breeding could be further incentive for people to buy a house of their own.
- It was mentioned in the patch notes that the materia system will get a revamp.

- New thief class. It's been teased a lot in 2.2 and Yoshida mentioned wanting to add new classes via patches before the expansion. But if I recall correctly, he contradicted that statement recently by saying no new classes till level cap increase and I believe it was mentioned there won't be a level cap increase till the expansion. I could be wrong on this.

-That's actually a common mistake. Gold Saucer doesn't actually exist as an area in the game yet. The casino in Ul'dah is called "The Platinum Mirage". I'm actually surprised they're creating the Gold Saucer when there's already a casino in Ul'dah that could very easily be used.
-Gilgamesh HM/EX would please me to no end, especially if he was all like "GILGAMESH MORPHING TIME!!" and sprouted more arms. Though I can imagine that Gilgamesh's most powerful attack, "Ultimate Illusion", will be pretty nasty!
-Chocobo Breeding is confirmed for 2.4, so I seriously doubt it'll be in 2.3. They might not even introduce Chocobo Racing until then.
-Curious about the materia system revamp.
-Thief/Ninja/Rogue/Whatever seems like it won't come until either 2.5 or even 3.0. But time will tell. -

I don't believe the Gold Saucer should be in Ul'dah or any of the other current cities as it would instantly transform that city into a de facto hub city. I cannot quite work out how the lore would fit in, but I always imagined the Gold Saucer being in Ishgard, and having it be the new hub city like Jeuno from ffxi, but it does seem somewhat silly.

Looking at it now with the teasers from this patch's storyline, it might make sense that the Golden Saucer would be in either 2.3 or 2.4. Though I don't think it'll be in 2.3.

Teledji Adeledji appears to be preparing for a coup to overthrow the Sultana, now that the Empire is no longer an immediate threat. We will likely play a hand in stopping him and his supporters in 2.3's arc. Teledji Adeledji is currently the head of the Platinum Mirage, a popular Casino in Ul'dah. Should he fail in his plans, the Mirage will no doubt fall into the hands of another intrepid Ul'dahn... possibly with a name change and slight refurbishment *hint* hint* -

I don't think we will see Ramuh until the first expansion (or whenever Ala Mhigo is released). Unlike the other primals, Ramuh's only desire is to protect the Twelveswood where the Sylphs live. Of all the primals, he's the least aggressive. The only way we'd have to fight him is if somehow we needed to intrude more and more into Sylph territory. That would be enough to enrage him. Ala Mhigo fits perfectly into this scenario since it will be accessed from Larkscall (you can see the road in-game now, it's just blocked off). Ramuh could get angry at the sudden influx of adventurers trying to reclaim Ala Mhigo from the empire, or perhaps the empire purposely rouse his ire as an attempt to impede us from our goal. Either way, I think they will be connected at some point.
I also foresee Gilgamesh being a retelling from the Wandering Minstrel. An 8-armed man fits perfectly with his tendency of "embellishments." :P -

about the personal housing, it was not said that it will be ready for the 2.3, actually while the last live letter they was mostly saying it possible it will not be ready for the 2.3.
for the thief/ninja/scout (whatever they call it) the teasing from the 2.2 quest line was too big... what we had as teasing for the scholar? a single picture... here this is named, showed and clearly stated to coming... it's way too big for be something for the 3.0. and more important... the 3.0 will be surely about Ishgard, and there we will have other new class.
And yoshida never said it will wait the raise of level cap for add new class. he did said that the level raise will be with the expansion, that sure, but he have always said that new class will be added. mostly because legacy player play with the same class for long enough. (the game have 3 years for us) if they add a new class i think it will be while a CT patch, where less stuff will be added and allows player to master the class outside of a change of tier.
even if the idea seems strange, i think the 2.3 is still possible as patch for add new class. even if i admit it seems quite early.Quote:

Yoshi-P said there will be no New Skills for current classes/jobs until the level cap is raised in 1st expansion because it would be unfair to give Summoner a new skill like summoning Levi-Egi while other class/jobs don't get anything new as well. He never said there will be no new class/jobs until level cap is raised. If a new class/job are released before 1st expansion it will just have the skills from level 1 to level 50 like all current class/jobs. -

no, EdwinLi is right, class is planned before the expansion. he did recently in a live letter talk about the fact that we will not get a raise of the level cap before the expansion... but not the class.
it will be a huge slap in the face of the legacy player if he don't bring new class before the expansion leading at 5 years with just one new class for us. some of us had all the class 50 before ARR. -

First of all, we are planning a new race for an expansion pack. For the classes and jobs, we will introduce them through patches because all of the Legacy players have level 50 jobs anyway. When we introduce new classes and jobs we will probably increase the level cap at the same time.
About what I want to introduce- it’s more like what I think I have to introduce. Something related to guns because the (musketeer) guild in the game. Something related to that I think I have to introduce.
Also I do feel that scouting classes are lacking so I want to bring in Thief, Ninja and those that have to do with stealth. Also more casters like Blue Mage and Red Mage are something I would like to add.
