Rowena's Token/ Horse Mounts

We all want a Horse Mount whether its Nightmare or the new extreme primal horses and cant get one because of the extremely low drop rate and a dependable party to farm extremes. I compare winning the lottery to getting just one of these horses. So here's my proposal. Everyone wants to use there "Rowena's Tokens" for something else now that most people have the item they were aiming for or have all of them. Please add these mounts to this service. It doesn't have to by 3 tokens and you get a mount make like 9 tokens so it takes 3 weeks to get. Regardless of whats done about this please make it a little easier to get these horses. (Not to easy though I still want to work for it.)

i disagree. i think mmos should have anesthetic items at high RNG. only then are items special and worthy to go after.

But I like feeling special when riding my blue horsie. =[

But let's make it 99 tokens.
That's just over 8 months doing the quest each week.

This is a good idea. By allowing you to trade in X# of Rowena Tokens for one of the Rare Horse Mounts, it would definitely drive up participation in the basic 3 Primal EXs again (Garuda, Titan, Ifrit), since so many players no longer bother with them.

Yoshida-san can still keep the RNG and "Lottery" feel with the low drop rate (so it might drop (rarely) with a Win as usual), but allow players to slowly earn Rowena Tokens and trade in a bunch for the Horse Mount as a 2nd Path (e.g., 9 or more), so it's a long-term back-up plan solution, for people that are unlucky with Random Number Generator rolls.

It's the best of both worlds.

It's a good idea since mounts are now the only reason to do those fights.

Having lost lot on a dozen mounts in (a minimum) ten times as many fights since they were added, I can only agree wholeheartedly with this idea. I've rolled a 1 twice. It's getting to be a bit galling. MMOs do need aesthetic only benefits that have a low chance of dropping, but a 1/8 chance of getting one every 10-20 kills is ridiculous; not to mention, it will probably be 1/8 next time because whoever gets one probably won't stick around.

So unless you have a static just for farming mounts, there really is a low chance of getting one. I can't be the only one a little disappointed with losing over and over, especially when on several of those occasions somebody dying repeatedly or being carried won the lot.

Another idea would be to make them tradeable. Then people with luck get some gil and people without can spend theirs.

I approve this idea. I'm not bothered enough about aesthetic perks to spend hours on these fights in the hope RNG smiles on me. I've also purchased all the weapons I'm interested in owning. However, if there was another reward for just running them it would give me an incentive to revisit these fights.

I've never seen a mount drop from ex primals. :(
I have every primal weapon and every primal accessory.

I've only seen Nightmare after 3 hours of straight farming garuda extreme.

A high amount of tokens needed would both revive participation in the fight and give people a goal to work towards.

I saw about 5 mounts, but never got one.
I would really tp get them via a side method.

They can even require 30 Rowena's token up to me, so people interested in them will continue to do Primals Ex, and while they hope to drop them in fight they will atleast know that after 10 weeks they will anyway got the favourite mount.

My issue with this idea is I feel you are contradicting yourself by requesting another method of obtaining these for the sake of giving a reason to do the extremes again

The incentive is the duty roulette bonus as well as the chance of that mount drop.
Requesting it to be altered is no different than requesting that the bluebird, tonberry or opo-opo minions be altered so as to make them easier to obtain

This is all purely aesthetic content that exists for the rights to show off

I personally can't look at someone with full soldiery gear and be as impressed as I am with someone in high-allagan
It's the sheer differnence in being able to say "i can do that fight enough times to get THIS!" As opposed to "I can grind!"

The mounts are the only reason many do these fights anymore. And I feel that is why they should be such rare drops. To keep us doing these fights. This kind of incentive is neccesary to make certain new players always have someone to do these fights with.

You cannot get a daily roulette bonus from the extreme primals, only hard mode, so that point is irrelevant to the topic.

It's not an incentive though. I am never going to farm Garuda EX hundreds of times for the chance that maybe I will get to see a mount and maybe I will roll high enough to get it. If they told me I would get one for doing 200 times like the tank mounts? I'd definitely go at it again.

And lol new players aren't benefit for this at all. I've seen PF mounts, they're all "100 myth message = kick".

Yeah i have yet to see Nightmare mount drop which i want soo bad. Many have said it has taken them around 80 runs before it even shows up.

And so the mounts are actual loot you need, greed on? Damn i was under the impression it would be random drops into someones inventory.
Now i know for sure i would never get a mount as i can count on 1 hand how many times i have won rolls.

It should be around 50 or 100 tokens

I would like to turn in coil gear we get for coil gear we actually need, im tired of seeing whm drop every turn every week!!!!!!!

Can we please have real rewards from stuff besides cosmetic things and mounts that are the same speed? There is no incentive to get it besides looks, and the low drop rate makes me stay as far away from it as humanly possible.

If you insist on trying to bait people to do these can we have REAL items? Thanks.

You mean the "most randomly generated" items, not the "rarest." I've seen mounts dropped twice in 2 consecutive runs after a week of them being introduced, and then never seen them again in those fights.

That's essentially the only point of having various mounts, to be able to collect them. This is because they offer no other bonus outside of pure cosmetics. It would be a different story if X mount was 5% faster, but an incredibly rare drop. Then it would be worth it to farm for. As of now, there's no reason to pursue the primal mounts other than to collect them (which easily warrants a token system).

Well I don't mind titan ex(I find titan enjoyable anyway) or iffrit ex... Garuda ex though still have nightmares of that...

You mean like pretty much 99% of the drops you'll ever get from a primal fight or dungeon? Those weapons and gear do exist.

Not surprised, this is the same company that takes bad decisions with every single content update, I have yet to see a single content update where they didn't screw up something or didn't see something coming (I'm still laughing about hunts).

They are only deemed the rarest, because they are not farmed enough, due to the fact that they are too "rare." I personally feel the drop rate should be raised a tiny bit, to incentivize players to kill it more. As it stands, I personally feel it is a waste of time. No one here really wants to farm a primal that yields no more gear they desire from it for an infinitesimally small chance at a mount that could possibly never drop over 100 times...

I have been trying to farm the mounts, but it is very hard to get people to join for EX primals anymore. Maybe instead of making the mounts less rare, something can be done to make doing the old EX primals more desirable? Additional drop or lots of soldiery tomes or something like this.

Just because earning the tokens will make the horses a bit more common, doesn't make them any less special.
Besides, players (in this game especially) like to know that their hard work isn't in vain. So I think going from 100's of primal fights and lost loot rolls, to a few weeks of grinding for a GUARANTEED reward will be a much better system.

I honestly thought this was supposed to be the philosophy, at least it was stated early on in the game. You have a chance at getting something for free through a completion drop, or as an alternative, you can save up consolation prize tokens to eventually buy what it was you were seeking. The later of which would take a very long time and a lot of grinding. It was still as much work as grinding anyway for the treasure drop, but gave hope and motivation to the unlucky..

Course I've seen so many different systems and changes of rules in 2.0 since launch I get the feeling they're testing out different strategies this last year to see what works best for the community. Which is cool, albeit a little confusing at times.

Still curious: What is the thinking of having items be rare due to random chance, and not due to skill? Is FFXIV akin to online gambling? I didn't come here to play pachinko. :(
