I'm having a hard time maintaining good dps in T6. Between all of the random movement, target switching and blighted, my dps just isn't cutting it and I feel like I'm bringing my static down. Any advice?

1.)Never take two steps when one will do.
2.) always dps while moving (proc > swift cast > scathe).
3.) you can't aetherial manipulate out of briars so be sure to just be on the edge of them
Keeping your moving down to a minimum is really key in this fight and I really can't suggest tips without knowing what strat you are using. Just follow the ABC's of Black Mage: always be casting
From 100% to 40%: our strat here is to have the marked person run to the briar patch most behind the mob, while the rest of the pt gets on tanks. We prioritize burning the bee and burning any briars that spawn on the boss in the middle. I've been trying to make getting thunder on the bee a top priority, since it can tick thru blighted. But my biggest issue has been being able to spike dps on the briar that may or may not spawn in the middle after the bee is dead. I feel like I've burnt most of my procs trying to kill the bee and my spike damage on that briar (if it falls middle) is abysmal.
what stats are yall running right now? how much crit/spellspeed/det/acc?
With HQ deviled eggs: ACC is 437, CRIT is 575, DET is 272, and SS is 405.
Use sprint whenever devour is coming up to get where you need to be quick. Also, like Altimis said, you need more accuracy. I've missed a few times (its rare, but still misses) at 446 accuracy, though I've got more than that now.
In our group,we prioritize movement from anyone but me(DRG) and the blm. We're the highest dps and moving is cutting it.Ofc we do move sometimes but if it's possible for us to not moving,we won't.
T6 really need some nasty dps so it's easier for us that way.
Btw yes your accuracy is way too low.You need 452~(around this)to not miss.
i see. thanks for the tips guys. i have other gear i can use to hit the acc cap, so that shouldn't be an issue. But i need to convince my static to make other dps move around and let me plant as much as possible. Thats my biggest issue i think.
This fight is really rough for BLM, because of so much randomness and movement - you wont be near Top-DPS...
We are 2 BLM in our Static, both about iLVL90, but i could cry when i see my dps, especially when you have to get off honey, etc...
anyway, we tried yesterday, we had not enough DPS to burst it down (the fight gets easier for BLM in the late phase because of reduced movement) - we wiped at 10% ...
but with the Feeding Strategy, we got to 1.2%, but failed unfortunately, but it is doable...
In the honey-phase, we need to stop DPS, and wait for the honey to be sucked, because DPS close to do it with only 1 Honey/Bee, but not enough right now.
It´s really much about prediction (as far as the Fight allows)... for example, you can move to the back of the Boss early after he sucks someone in, use the teleport spell to reduce running (i have a macro which gets me instant back to a healer), DoT the Bee Add with Thunder3 to sooooomehow compensate the damage stop by blighted...etc...
I switched up some tactics and yesterday was able to put up 210-230 DPS pretty consistently. Thanks for the tips guys.
I'm not a BLM, but are you sure you can't (as in, actually tested it, not just reading skill description)?
I ask because three DRG jumps (Dragonfire Dive, Spineshatter Dive and Jump) all can be used from in the Briars, despite the skill descriptions of "cannot be used when bound" (Elusive Jump's description says it can be used regardless of bindings); same for MNK's Shoulder Tackle. So I assume you can use Aetherial Manipulation from within Briars...which should help DPS
Just gonna have to bite the bullet on this one. t6 has so much movement for a blm. I've beaten it as blm as well and man I was missing the dps I can do as mnk in that turn >_<. Though BLM flare helps on adds that spawn in the middle and the bee if your party member with honey can run away, break vine, and get back to the boss b4 blighted bouquet finishes casting. That way you can get extra dmg on the boss ala gaols in titan ex.
Depending on the strat you use for the last phase with slugs you can get some nice dps there too. But overall, not gonna outdo a top bard who can and does atk while moving, breaking vines, stepping into briars, etc. Of course, our dps as BLM depends a lot on lucky procs too so you'll see some fluctuation.
As a main BLM and someone who has cleared T6 doing around 250+ dps (At least thats what they tell me, since I don't use a parser) on the fight I'll throw in the aspects I keep in mind:
1. if you end up on the outside of the stack (assuming you're usually on the bosses back end stacked with the raid) you can stay and cast a fire or two before moving (I tend to go into blizzard before moving back, to give me time regenning while I reposition myself to lose minimal dps).
2. Scathe liberally
3. Get clever with your swiftcast. I save it for when I'm moving (or to flare) and almost always use it to maintain my Astral/Umbral stacks before anything else.
4. If you're targetted with the honey, move to the edge of the briar, cast a spell while in there then sprint out to position faster.
5. This leads me to the next point: Use sprint a lot
6. Finally on the subject of blighted: If you're going to lose stacks (and you will sometimes) make sure you've saved swiftcast for moments like this
