Black-out names when posting on the forums. You're breaking ToS, bud.
Fixed :D

I'm not quite sure what I'm reading?
So tank says they are tired and want to go straight through, otherwise they would have to leave and go to sleep, and you wanted to do side rooms/optionals. Comes off like they were being pretty reasonable, and you weren't willing to compromise. They were offering you an option that would have allowed them to stay, because it often takes a while to replace a tank for an in progress dungeon. If you didn't want it then why not just say so?
That about the size of it?
Yeah im lost it was a reasonable request and was nice about it and gave you an alternative.
Real question is what does farming Atma have to do with chocobos
I dont know if you can say that's being reasonable. Why queue for a dungeon if you are tired and sleepy? And let's face it, as soon as you say "I don't care", you are going to piss people off.
I am guessing that they are forming parties for Atma, and some parties might not want Chocobos because it takes up party space? I was farming Atma last night and I purposely went into a party where I can still have my Chocobo out. Being a WHM, sometimes I prefer my Chocobo does the murdering for me, I need to stay innocent *innocent eyes*
I'm with Darkslayer on this one. I didn't see the whole conversation (at work, can't watch the youtube video), but the tank's response is a bit snarky. Did you guys establish it's a quick run right at the beginning? If the tank is sleepy and grumpy, he should stay out of DF. The party consent was to fight the rest of the dungeon, it seems. In a democratic situation, it's 3 against 1 isn't it? The party voted by action.
Yeah. If you're tired, go to bed. Don't keep playing a game and expect everyone to rush through for your sake.
How about a little back story on this? Are you all lvl 50's running a low level roulette for tomes? If so why waste time opening junk chests with potions and cheap crafting mats? Or are you a mixed group where people can benefit from the xp? Did you agree to a quick run? Are you all in a lvl 50 dungeon and the tank is bypassing chests preventing the party from a chance at upgrades? With no history and only a screenshot of a few sentences who knows what was happening.
The video isn't a breakdown of the chat, it's a snarky video response using a movie clip.
Also, the tank should have just left. Still, the point of DF is to find a party to clear a dungeon with, anything beyond that and you're expecting way too much. If you want a group that will clear the whole dungeon of every enemy, make a group with PF. If you want quick, easy straight shot runs, make a group through PF. Both sides here were expecting way more than what is considered usual for a dungeon run, then tried to impose that expectation on a complete stranger.
Well, at least the tank didn't whine about it on the forums afterwards...
I don't really see why this is something worthy putting on the forums in the first place. It doesn't maatter if it's a tank/dps/healer, when a person is tired he tends to be a bit more harsh or carelss with his response. Things like this happens all the time and i honestly don't think you should single out tanks if you're gonna address this issue. Why not address the larger issues of bots and gil sellers while you're at it? printscreen that and post it on the forums, lol. If every player were to be given a reaction to every time they said something that sounded careless we'd all be here.
Also why even post the youtube clip? self promotion? - waste anyways
oh i thought i caught more of the chat log,
basically he just kept telling us to skip mobs otherwise he was leaving, but we joined for the exp and asked him to kill the mobs, first area he did, then on the second rooms he was taking a hissy on the chat box, threatening to leave if we didnt so whatever he ordered and such. just thought i caught more which woulda made this make more sense.
+ its just the irony of the whole tank issue people are having, when theyre leaving for silly reasons and then thinking they're a hierachy. i did this dungeon before with a titan-egi and i had to do it again with a titan-egi.
Kinda wanted to get a different youtube response to it, but i couldnt think of any other because we just didnt go through the shifts and i tanked the adds. lol
You should do like me. I have shadow play on my computer. Whenever i feel like someone is being a d**ck i just record it, show it to gm's and have them deal with it. Though, this is not punishable behaviour, just some guy being the "king of the hill".
I'm probably going to catch some flack for this, but I really don't care. Tanks need to come off it. As a tank, I know I am not the most important person in the group. Any tank needs to remind themselves that. Yeah, we have some leverage given the difficulty of finding a replacement tank for dungeon groups, but that flies right out the door when all it takes is one member of the 3 or 7 you left behind to switch over to FC or LS chat and call in back up. I guarantee you there are a hundred other considerate and probably twice as talented tanks out there willing to take the spot of a self centered ding bat at the pleas of their FC mates or LS mates. I am the sole 50 tank of my FC, and idiots like this keep me in work. If there is one thing I love more than feeling superior to other players, it's being desired by other players. And acting superior to your fellow player is just a sure fire way to make you look undesirable.
So rude! :O
A Tankless Job indeed...
Rudeness levels (descending).
1. Queue for in-progress and keep withdrawing for minutes (i remember one healer in the morning was doing this for 15 minutes or so lol).
2. Enter the dungeon but leave asap before duty is commenced.
3. Go afk and wait for vote dismiss.
4. Leave or *disconnect* when things go too slow or wipy.
5. Inform the team you will leave if reasons above.
6. Inform the team you will have to *repair*, *help FC* or *rejoin as xxx* when things go too slow or wipy.
How many people will keep wiping until time out? Maybe 5% at best.
I don't do this as any role I play, especially a tank. On the occasions that another player has ragequit or threatened to, my response is the same. "I've 3-manned most dungeons in this game, and I'll do it again. Do what you need to do." It's the truth and frankly, some of the most fun I've had in dungeons has been when forced to do them with three people (and no egi). However, when this happens, I certainly don't post screenshots of the dialogue on the forums. One is rude and one is tattling, and both are equally childish, IMO.
