Chocobo Customization!! What you think?!!

Hey SE, I would love to suggest that you add chocobo customization to the game for us chocobo and fashion lovers. I'm the kind of girl who loves to look gorgeous and what better way than to compliment my beauty then my beautiful chocobo. By chocobo customization , I don't mean armor changes and stuff like that it's ok but it doesn't excite me. Though what I mean is Chocobo creation mode!!!!

Think about it!!! How crazy are we all right now about changing our characters looks, hair and etc. Just think how amazing it would be if we could change our chocobo's feather colors and not only change them, but give their feather's highlights. So every chocobo can match his or her owners hair :D!!!

Come on you have to admit that's pure genius. Why would you do this? Because it's something that everyone will want and love. What can you gain from this? Satisfaction in knowing that you not only make the best mmo's in the world in most opinion, but you cater to the needs of your players. Ok.. So maybe isn't good enough, but you could make profits if you desire.

Me personally I wouldn't mind paying for a feature that allows me to customize my chocobo and if others really want it they don't mind it either. It's a really great suggestion i think you should look into. You can also make a quest called "Cater to Kewh!" I know how you all love word play.

The story line to this quest is basically about getting stuff that will help the NPC "who you get your chocobo mount from" to cater to your chocobo by bathing it and grooming it and giving it a new color and highlights. :D So this is my opinion I hope you look into it thanks :D.

I believe this would be a lot of fun because it would add yet another dimension to owning a Chocobo. Plus as the previous poster suggested it could even be used to create yet another fun and exciting quest. SE please add this option during the next patch and let us take our Chocobo to a whole new level!

Kweh! So, here is a thought that has been stirring the forums lately. The idea of being able to customize a chocobo's appearance is top notch and here is why. SquareEnix has already made it possible to customize first your characters. Next, the retainers. Followed by the ability to add glamor to the character's gear (very cool). SE does an awesome job with the dynamics of this game and we think what would add a great new touch to the aspect of the game would be the ability to customize your chocobo, thus setting it apart from the rest of the birds! The thread above mentioned a starter quest which is an excellent idea. Also mentioned were color changes and highlights. These items or skills could be purchased from your character's GC or won from the quest mentioned above, then for ease and fun, could be allocated to the hotbar! Anyway, it sounds like a very exciting idea and the word is growing!

I'm extremely happy you both think it's a good idea. I really hope SE introduces it. I would be something new and I have no doubt it will be a hit with everyone. With enough comments and support I'm sure SE will give it a glance ^^ Thank you both for your support

I love customising and I love chocobo raising :D I still remember my good 100 hours + I spent just to get my chocobos in FFVII right

seriously this is a great idea, kudo's to the OP I would love this and I am sure others would as well. it would also add a great way to set your choco apart from others when CHOCO RACING finally comes (when ever we start getting games and things to do in game besides crafting and battling)

I think this is a neat idea too. Final Fantasy 7 did great with giving us the option to raise different breeds of chocobos, that gave different colours and abilities. I remember spending hours on end trying to get a golden chocobo (which I did get in the end!) and it was a blast doing so.

Also, adding to the Chocobo racing mentioned before, that's a great mini-game to add to this game too! FF7 did that as well and it was fun! You race and get prizes if you win! :'D Ahhhh the good old days on the PS1... lol

I like this idea too! Any type of customization would be welcome. Whether you let us do a "character creator" like approach and change our chocobo's color, tip color, height, weight, beak length, etc, or just letting us breed and get different colors that way. Hopefully you guys add chocobo raising and let us level up our chocobos in different ways!

I really appreciate you guys for your support. Also each one if your ideas I loved. It would be amazing to customize your own chocobo and race it against others and breeding them with other player chocobo even probably gaining some of that chocobo stats like in ffxi. Bedside all these cute chocobo bardings we have, they need pretty colors to match. Let us make our own unique chocobo SE :D

I'd like to see it too, at least a way to customize main color and highlight (in the same way as character hair)

But before that, i'd like to see a way to reset skill point on chocobo (or make the tank branch better, he is useless as it stand, can't even keep agro from me aero-ing mobs >__<)

Glad to see this idea already has its own thread, as I wanted to suggest something similar. More types of barding are certainly welcome, such as a set which prominently displays one's Free Company emblem and colors, similar to the Grand Company barding. However, to really help make your bird stand out from the rest, changing the color of its plumage would be even better! Ideally, there would be several areas of its body which could be colored independently with separate base color and highlight (head, body, wings, tail, legs) but if that is too complex, a single base color and highlight which cover the whole bird is acceptable. Perhaps the existing dyes could be used to make these alterations?

Also, yes, a way to reset or redistribute a chocobo's rank points would be most welcome. I have been calling for an Amnesia Greens item for just such a purpose.

Oh, and as for quest titles, those are fun and easy. How about "Let's Hear It For the 'Bo"? "Raising a Chocobo is Hard Wark"? "Standing Out From the Flock"? "A Certain Je Ne Sais Kweh"?
