Where to start killing things?

How do I get to the very first area in the game to kill my first enemy? My god most mmo's start you off in that area, I'm in Limsa Lominsa I'm a lvl 2 Maurador. Enough with these unuseful quests. I just want to kill and gain xp, and maybe a few quests along the way. I'm in the Maurador adventures guild and none of the quests here start until lvl 4. What do I have to walk all over the place accepting quests from random npc's until I reach lvl 4, I completed the damn tutorial and still haven't seen or attacked anything. I think this will be very confusing to new players like me.

Why don't you keep playing and do those quests, you will eventually end up fighting enemies.

Exits to other areas on your map are marked by little green arrows with the name of the area they exit to next to them. Find one of these arrows with a label that doesn't start with "Limsa Lominsa." Go there.

It can be a little confusing, but the quests do lead you outside fairly rapidly. But Bixby is completely right as well, just open your map, find the green arrow that leads to "La Nocea" and you'll be outside

If you actually look at your map, it should indicate several quest givers that are available to you. Eventually, you'll receive a quest(s) to actually leave Limsa and start offing the local wild life; for example your class guild leader.

I should let you know that the majority of FF14 is accepting quests from random NPCs that you're so fond of so expect to do a lot of them.

Those initial quests that send you all over the city are to teach you where various things are and to get you near every aetheryte crystal so you can attune to it. Once you have attuned to them all the gates will also show up on your aetheryte list. Before then you can run out them. The first one you will probably use is by the Moogle near Aftcastle.

Strange as it may seem, they're implemented to explain the very basics of the game, something A LOT OF new players (even some not-so-new players) find so much useful.

If you find this confusing I can see your mind exploding with the Armoury System, unlocking jobs and dungeons, exploring,...

If you complain after 5 minutes: Stop playing the game and look for something different.

could also open up your "hunting log" and start chipping away on that as well..

Not until he does the useless quests that unlock it.

Pacing is a bit slow early on with the sole purpose of trying to teach the basics. Spend the time to actually read what is on the screen because it will be important.
