Raise a dead player instantly with half hp instead?
So a 5 minute cooldown ability to do the same thing that you can do with Swiftcast?
I'm not following your logic.
Clearly your reasoning is not based on party logic. As playing and healing tanking roles in busy fights, benediction has saved my ass or given me a quick emergency full heal.
If it worked as OP put, then healers would ned to cast protect all over again, thus wasting time and mp.
I think the op means in addition to what it already does. I would go a step further and say it should be a full cure no weakness raise/heal to put it on with lustrate.
have less cooldown... i wish it have like 3-3.5 min cooldown.. :D
For what it does (instant full health) the cooldown is already pretty dam low.
Its not supposed to be always required, hell its technically never supposed to be required.
I remember wow paladins having exactly the same spell, wanna know the CD of the dam thing? 1hour.
There is only one thing that should be changed and that is the delay between the press and the health gained. It should be bam bam instant.
Sometimes it even registers as giving hp yet the target still dies.
By the way, the title is wrong... if it did have an apostrophe... What's it would read what is if benediction can do. I'm just saying OP
NO thanks OP, the only things i can ask about Benediction is, please stop making it cast on me if my previous target die's by the time i Hit benediction.
I like Benediction how it is, but would prefer it if, like mentioned above, it actually cast instantly instead of having a slight delay. I've lost tanks recently despite Bene going on cooldown as I cast it. I even see the animation of them receiving the HP, and they still die. Very frustrating.
Like many had mentioned, other than it should be INSTANT cast rather than a "let's do a dance move and waste 1 second cast", the function and the cool down time is perfect. I don't think Benediction was meant to be used all the time. To be honest, WHM has a lot of tools in the bag (I main WHM), a good healer will be able to utilize these tools efficiently. What OP suggest here, in my humble opinion, will make it less challenging for the role.
Since 2.16 i think it was, this is no longer reliable. I frequently have Lustrate misfire on myself instead of my target even though the macro is a <t> with no <me> backup line.
WHY SqEnix did this is beyond me, it frustrates me to no freaking end.
On topic, Benediction is fine. The cooldown is fine for what it does, too.
What if benediction can stay the way it is.
I've never had an issue using benediction. I use it all the time. I can just sit in cleric stance and dps and aoe or whatever and just heal the tank up when he hits around 20-30% and go back to doing damage. Without dropping stance or skipping a beat.
When I'm doing stuff that is rather healing intensive and I'm not dpsing, it has saved my groups ass more often than not.
I've also got the timing down on it and find it's a phenomenal 'oh shit' button.
If you've got a problem with the spell. Learn how to use it. Practice. I don't want to see any changes made (not even casting before it's animation). I like it how it is, I assume I'm not the only one.
The OP is saying that, since Benediction is used for "oh sh!t" moments, why don't we extend the definitionnof "oh sh!t" moment from only " oh sh!t someone important's about to die and needs heals immediately!" to also cover "oh sh!t someone important just died and need to be raised immediately!"
