please stop making things too easy

in 2.2 they took the bees out of AK. I ask why? was it too much for players to start learning how to juggle 2 mechanics at 1 time? im all for content being beatable, but not laughable. do not cater the weekend players as well as the players that do not want to work for there drops. I propose they brick all dungeons into 2 tiers. the first tier is easy mode which will give tomes and give different item level loot. then have a hard mode with no echo boost for failing. the hard mode dungeons will drop great gear and the easy/normal ones will drop decent loot. put this system in place for all dungeons. this system lets u cater to everyone. im all for the echo boost being axed from the game entirely. 1st they are making content easier by removing the challenge. then to help the people who want everything with out working for it they added echo boost on top of making stuff easier. when these players try to do coil and cannot juggle 2 mechanics at the same time what will they do then?

break down if my dungeon idea. have all level 50 dungeons have 2 difficulties. have an AK easy mode and an AK hm. do this for all dungeons. good gear in the hard mode decent gear in the easy with this system the weekend people have there fun along with the lazy who want easy content to get the best gear. however you also cater to the hardcore player at the same time. please get rid of echo boost or at least take the loot away if you hit the 50% boost or something like that. im no elitest but I like to work for my drops. when these guys who do not want to have challenge try coil they ruin the experience for me as they didn't wanna learn before but now they want to. these players that want jokingly easy content will have a very hard time getting along with vets who work for there loot drops.

People still do AK for tomes after 2.2?

AK is an example of them catering to the stupid. the bees during the demon wall fight were totally manageable. no need to remove them. 2nd pharous Sirius was not too hard. so why make it easier?

Pharos Siruis was too difficult in relation to the gear it dropped. At the entry level (which is ilvl48 btw) it should be very challenging (which it still is) but not completely impossible (which it was) in this case of both this place and Haukke HM.

I don't know if they've changed Haukke HM aswell but the dps check on the final boss was too brutal for people in i48 to get past.

You already have an exclusive gear now that not everybody has: work for your High Allagan gear.

Now myth tomes are easier to obtain and myth gear is not as difficult to obtain as it was, so new people have it easier. So what? People who have already the myth/allagan gear are now working for their Weather Noct, High Allagan, Atma, etc. They don't/shouldn't care if newer people obtain myth gear easier than they did, and concentrate in their own fun.

By the way, all those people who cried that much because Coil was going to be nerfed with the Echo were finally wrong.

I find it funny that making something a little easier gets people up in arms over it, even though it shouldn't affect them at all.

I think the goal is that all the dungeons on the same roulette group give about the same rewards relative to difficulty: they put AK easier so it is about equal to WP, and Pharos also a bit easier so it is about equal to CM and HM hard. So more people do the duty roulette, players are more evenly distributed, there are less queue problems and servers work better (it seems if there are too many players who do the same dungeon at the same time there are server problems or longer queues, if I understood well.)

Up to now, people avoided AK and Pharos S, and didn't do roulettes. So now for roulette you also need all the hard dungeons unlocked, people left Pharos locked so they didn't fall there in the duty roulette (some Pharos hater called it Russian Roulette.)

why in the world would they create an AK hm with better gear than the current AK? If you want better gear from a dungeon drop you have your ability to run the new hm dungeons. there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to build two versions of AK.

besides the strat before the nerf on ak was to ignore the bees and burn the wall. people were already ignoring the bees. the only time the bees were a problem was if the party didn't have enough dps. so if the strat was to ignore the bees, and then SE takes the bees out, what's the problem? and why do we need another thread crying about how it's such a tragedy to nerf a dungeon that people only run in dr, to get their relic, or because they're new to the game.

I love being challenged in games. There is nothing like going into a dungeon, undergeared, with the FC mates and still beating it because we actually strategized about what we were doing. Thanks for taking that away SE. I guess I'll just have to rush everyone to get max geared so we can do everything before they make it easy.

Wait....there was bees during AK? When did they come?

They took out the bees for a reason. Think about it, people are so overgeared to the point where the boss can easily be burned before the bees even come out. They've been ignored for the longest time, they're just getting rid of the bees because now nobody will ever see them because we can wipe the wall way too fast now.

I think simply implement an option let you enable "maximum iLV restriction" can resolve the mentioned too easy issues.
For example, every piece of your gears will be sync to max iLV55 for AK...

Just as an FYI you don't get echo in the dungeons. Only the HM and EX Primals and the original BCOB have that.

ex primals should not have echo boost as they are supposed to be challenging.

If you think that boost helps in Titan EM, you're crazy. You die once, you probably just screwed over the entire team in that fight. Got hit by Landslide? Grats, you're out of the fight. Got killed by anything else (most likely Weight of the Land)? Grats, if you're brought back up you're going to die again and be useless. The Echo does NOT help in that fight, except make it a little harder to get killed. You've still killed the entire party if you get hit by landslide, and the latency/lag that this fight has is still the main culprit of the deaths obtained within.

Even in Garuda EM, that boost won't save you if you don't know the mechanics well enough to know when and when not to kill the spiny. A single tank or DPS screwing up in that fight can still kill the entire party, with or without the buff. Same goes for Ifrit EM and the healer explosions if you/they get too near everybody else. Even Leviathan EM cannot be helped with such a boost if you fall into the water.

The echo cannot save people who do not know the mechanics, and if they were really so powerful, we'd see everybody passing these EMs instead of seeing so many people still fail them. They're still challenging, just simply due to the mechanics. All the Echo helps is you getting from phase to phase through damage/survivability a little easier...it won't help failing the mechanics. Even if they boosted it so everybody takes half damage and does double damage, you'd still see quite a lot of failures in these fights.

Honestly, who cares if old content is easier if you've already completed it? Is it offending your epeen? Let the casuals have their fun like you did.

You can still join the dungeons undergeared with your friends. Your only limit is the required ilvl in the higher dungeons, and that was there before this last patch too.

The second Coil is the place where you are not yet overgeared, and you can go there with your friends and have fun until you are all overgeared, or wear just only the minimum required gear there, probably it's still a challenge.

Not seeing or reading any guides or tips is also a challenge if you like them.

Its awesome how u can duo or solo demon wall now ( good gear/ dps? )
Also i think in response to having AK made, they planned on the lost city being its sequel in a way as it drops higher gear, has a similar theme and probably the lore too?

Part of the problem I see is that you can significantly outgear something, but still need the reward (whether it's gear or tomes). IMO more/most/ almost all upgrades should come from challanging content instead of re-running easy content.

I really think they screwed up the progression of gear and difficutly badly from the start, which is understandable at release, but needs to be corrected over time. For example, you can easily significantly outgear everything at 50 until Titan HM, where even in great gear witha 30% buff suddenly you can fail. Progression is more like a brick wall than a steady incline.

I would argue it's a combination that the very hard things might be too hard, BECAUSE everything else can be facerolled.

they should have left Pharos alone and made it an Expert dungeon and reshuffled the i70 loot into it.

even the now nerfed Pharos is more difficult than any of the 3 new Expert dungeons.

they also need to loop the Pharos background music (yes, i know they said that they don't plan to do that).

Not everyone has the time or skill to sit around and play all day. some people work, and go to school. maybe even also have children. i have some friends how just dont have the skill but like to play and socialize. im sure you are far past that place so why does it matter? they pay their monthly fee every month like you do. allow them to have some fun without people like you complaining and making them feel worse. it ruins the community.

This type of games have a lot of farming or grinding (=re-running). If you want the relic you need to do a very long quest (with some difficult, some easier duties) with Titan HM at the end. If you want the Allagan weapon you need to farm Coil T5 (reach there first and then be able to win consistently) many times until it drops. Both ways you have a long play time commitment and imply farming instances (you don't really farm Titan HM, but you usually have to repeat it many times until you find a group that survives. Not the same thing, but means repeating instances.)

When a group farms, he normally is doing something that is somewhat mastered, even if it is objectively a difficult place (what I mean it is not such a challenge if you have won there n times.)

It seems to me you prefer then a Titan HM type of challenge (a difficult place you don't need to farm, you just need to win once) for the relic than a Coil type of challenge for the Allagan (a place you have to repeat many times for the drop.) The second means farming and farming really means re-running content that is not that difficult for you, even if it is difficult for all.

For the new second best, now after 2.2, you have to either farm fates and farm myth tomes (farm easy places), or farm a difficult place (Second Coil.) Farming here or farming there. For the second upgrade, though, (new best) you need drops (not farm I think) from the last instances of Second Coil (not easy places, but the most difficult places.)
