Tafetta cloth?

Has anyone obtained any yet?
If so could u please where or what u did to find it?

I got the sailor cloth (or whatever it is called) required to make the vanity pieces from a boar map. Other varieties of clothing could also drop from them.

Well from what i found was
Boar = mariner's cloth
Peist = dress cloth
???? = tafetta cloth

I have been looking for this item too.

Has anyone confirmed what it comes from?

So to give crafters more stuff to do, the game has put in more things for crafters to have to buy to do anything.

I wonder if its even in the game yet as i have a crafter who has master craft every class but not even he knows/ has seen 1.
We all assume it came from boarskin maps as its 2 star material but all we got was the usual along with some mariner cloths here and there.
All we want is that damn tafetta set! XD
If i had that set all i would need left is coronal hand gloves thingy
And spring hat!
But they both require those gardening flower drops so that will take awhile.

Crafters make things. Crafters cannot make a profit making things to sell to players who aren't crafters because other players don't really want anything crafters can craft. So SE put more crafting recipes into the game to provide things that players might actually want more of to enable crafters to make gil to afford things like ludicrously expensive houses.

And then they make many of them require materials you can only obtain by fighting something, or buying it from a vendor.

So basically, I can now make money but first I have to spend even more money.

Crafters can't make money because other crafters smash prices into the ground as fast as they possibly can.

Take the new Tidal Barding for example. Day 1 they were 3m here (and selling). Some people undercut by like 10k or so, which is fine for an item that expensive. Some other people though wanted to undercut by 500k+, so day 2 they were 1.5 million. Some would undercut by 1k (again, fair compared to the actual price), but those other people undercut by 500k+ again. Day 3? They're under 250k now, and not even worth making anymore.

The price literally went from 3m to 250k in 3 @#$%ing days because of like 1-2 people. That is the true reason why crafters can't make any money in the game.

What about Light Steel Plate?

I know u guys r mediocre when it comes to reading the opening topic post, but let's focus for a bit and share info on how to obtain this elusive cloth that is called Tafetta cloth!

We fight and work for materials, we sell them to crafters,
We make what we can make to sell to others.
We earn gil depending on how good we played the market and how well was ur luck on recieving the drops.
We go to master crafters that will craft us the things we need via providing them the materials; whether it be bought or obtained outside of the MB.
We get what we "want", they get what they "need".
I get my spring dress and they get that nice 30k of gil i earned.
If you bought vanity clothing on the MB for like 600k ur a fool! Lol
So all together treasure hunting saved me 100k+ of gil.
Even if each map costed around 8-10k i still profit and have a smile at the end of the day.

I wonder if it drops from the maps that no one ever does, Leather or Goatskin.

That was just a response to that little conversation about crafters not making money.
A crafter i go to regularly has earned over 300k from me alone in these past 2 days. So he profitted as well as i did doing that step dance in the spring set.

It's ok, I welcome them anyways. i90 crafted transacted for a whooping 5mil on Tonberry server on the first 2 days :D

Meanwhile master crafters like us helped each other to make what we need (gears and base 3 star mats) for free or just a tip while we sell it on MB for millions :D

Jealous! The first guy to start selling them on Leviathan started them out at 1m and undercut himself before anyone else had caught up and started making the items themselves.

Gotta guage the wealth of the players in your server I guess. BTW the 5mil was a pentameld. There was another pentameld, the guy ask for 8mil, but was never sold (really too much to ask for I guess). Non melded was around 2.5mil-3.5mil and saw some transacted at 3mil.

Only lasted a while until people start catching up and prices literally dropped 50% per day lol. Next day non melded went down to 1.5mil-1.8mil and right now you can probably find them less than 800k on MB and people posting on PF offering to do them for 400k per piece.

Yes. That happens when you have an economic system built on commodities that are all identical no matter who makes them and a global market-listing system that completely removes regional markets.

you really expected people to pay millions forever for something you crafted out of a Hard Mode drop?

Ikr? Mediocre crafters with no sense of direction when it comes to being able to craft these vanity pieces 1st before anyone.
I swear if someone found tafetta cloth As of now, it would outsell everything on my server as it is more rare than all the cloths and could possibly be bought for 2mil at first glance.
This is a thread about tafetta cloth.
Not about undercutting, selling, etc.

Show me an MMO where this doesn't happen.

Besides if you are clever you can always find ways to make money, such as buying cheap and selling at a profit, that my friend is what a real crafter does.

To answer the question it is probably one of the treasure maps or maybe a rare venture item, if its the later good luck finding some.

So 3 possibilities:

1. It drops from Leather or Goatskin maps since no one ever does those.
2. It's an exclusive drop from ventures (seems unlikely).
3. SE forgot to add it in.

Yes, because it cost millions to get all of the tools required to even make them to begin with. That, and because people were willing to pay that much. If somebody is willing to buy an item for 3m, I expect them to pay 3m for it.

Idk but it would make sense if it were to be dropped by treasure hunts that it would be from goat as its 2 star and would most likely not be in a leather right?

Undercutters can only do so much damage. If the demand is high they won't even make a dent in the market because they'll put something up...and then it'll sell right away. Then yours would sell. There's not a lot of people who are willing to put down 3 million on a cosmetic piece that they don't even wear themselves. The people that did, did. Hard to recover when it's something they can gather and totally bomb the market with. For instance, rubies dropped to the double digits because somebody came and plopped hundreds of them on the AH for dirt cheap. The price is there to stay, considering how few things they're needed for. You can't buy them out and list for higher, because they just list more. If they don't list more, other people are trying to undercut the "less than a vendor pays" prices for w/e reason.

There was also an issue recently where we had a small group of crafters going 24/7 (same spot, endless crafting, only moving to go to the FC chest), who listed 1 star items for under 1k and such, and they did this for months. MONTHS. There was no recovering from things like HQ crafting gear being sold for 600 gil when there are 10 items listed for that much on AH.

/sigh back on topic of the actual thread OP, still no sign or word of taffeta cloth/light steel? I've been trying all the lower lvl maps myself, but nothing has dropped so far.

Perhaps it's not in the game yet as i have wasted 100k+ on all maps just to find nothing but dress/ mariner, other expensive selling items *cutting oil etc.
Its probably a thing SE looked over as everything else was added to the game via maps, gathering.
And it can't be wow ultra omg 1% rare drop as its only a 2* material where as dress material is 3*.

I'm taking this with a grain of salt, but someone on the internet said, "one of my FC friends had their retainer bring the cloth back from a quick venture."

I have gotten onion legs from version 1 that aren't in game anymore, so I assume even if they forget to add them your retainer can still "find" them.
