When will be the next update to remove the soldiery cap?

Just wondering.


I only have a certain amount of time I can play a week and moving the normal reset time from 10 am to 4 am kinda really screwed me. ><

It's cool if you move it up a day but to change the actual reset hourly time really sucks.

Why not set it up so if your example 402/450 into cap that it adjusts for next week as:

Tomes of etc...____(402/450) 0/450 [Week 1] Total tomes that can be acquired: 498

then next week would be

Tomes of etc...____(0/450) 0/450 [Week 2] Total tomes that can be acquired: 900

So you still get a chance to make up the 48 tomes or previous week's tomes you would have lost?

This way your not tied down so much in case per say... College Finals Week? Or some big event you wont be on the computer for a week.

Probably not until 2 patches, we had myth cap until 2.2

For us Europeans it iss perfect. Reset is in the morning of tuesday, so don't fix it :P

Capping the tomes is a matter of 4h at max. Just run Brayflox 10 times.

This ^^ + also Braflox (hard) is less stress & maybe easiest dungeon in game even if use DF :D

Hi, I don't think the time of reset is that important. Your available play hours in a week will be the same, and it doesn't matter if you cap your tomes in the last minute or 4 hours or 2 days before the reset time. If you "lose" time at the end of the reset week, you are gaining it at the start.
There will pass a lot of time before they eliminate the cap for soldiery tomes, it took many months to eliminate the cap for mythology.
Have fun with the available play time you have, and don't get stressed if you don't cap the tomes.

One expert level Duty Roulette a day will cap you by day 7, I believe. Throw in a random instance here and there and you cap it. I capped last week on day 3, and I can only play 3 hours a day. I have a topic up I created complaining about the slow drip of Myth and Soldiery, but when you look at the extra roulettes daily, and the new content, it really is possible to cap pretty quickly, and you can make 3 times the myth you did before. 10 Brayflox's will take you, on average 5 hours total. I'm sure on your schedule you can fit that in.

SE won't be lifting or easing the cap anytime soon, if history says anything about it. They want to slow progression down a bit, which is fine, because they've added so many places where it drops a little at a time. That being said, it's not a priority for them, since it goes as planned and is still doable to the masses.

I'm slightly annoyed by the cap too. I ran each of the new dungeons once. Then I ran "expert dute roulette" two days... I'm not sure what else I did - I wasn't trying to cap - but I did.

I think it should take more effort than that to reach the cap... so either the cap is too low, or they're too easy to earn. I DO see the value in preventing players from farming tomes too quickly. Honestly I'd be okay with receiving fewer tomes - but I felt like reaching the cap made me want to stop playing. Maybe that is the point? I went and got one of my DoH master books instead :)

Not the case at all. The reason most people capped this week "by magic" is because they ran all the new content, and some people even did expert roulette (I didn't and still capped). You can run Brayflox HM 20 times or w/e and cap your tomes, but is that really all that fun? To do that every single week? And yeah, sure, you could cap solely by doing EX Roulette once a day but not everyone can afford to play FF14 every. single. day. They should at least bump up the 45 tomes to 55-60, or give us a higher reward for EX Roulette. It would be nice not to have to speed run dungeons and just take capping tomes casually, like Myth was before.

You can still do it casually. Just do 1 expert roulette a day, 7 days a week. BAM! Capped. That's outside of the coil farm run, CT run, whatever you run. Even if you can't afford to play every single day, it still doesn't take much to make up for the loss.

Extreme or Expert?

I don't think the cap is bad, at least for me. If you have capped your tomes, and you have play time available, there are lots of things to do. If you spend all your time and don't cap the tomes (as has happened to me many times with the myth tomes before, I don't have that much play time available) you don't enjoy as much, you feel a bit stressed, like if you had not done your homework.

Most people want all the new and best gear ASAP, I also do in fact, but it's not worth to spoil your enjoyment. Atma fates and myth farming for the updates will need a lot of time, I would rather take it easy, do some fates for the Atma, then some tome farming, have variation in the dungeons you go to, try the new content like ventures or tribe quests, main story, etc. I think I will get better gear for the alts with myth tomes, even if it would be more efficient to save them all and go buying the items necessary for the upgrade so that I have them or at least most when I meet the requiremets.
