Goodbye...
So.. what is wrong with ATMA that is making this little girl cry? SE how dare you make kids cry. EXPLAIN YOUR SELF.
Something broken with Atma?
You don't have to do it right? it's not even second best wep in the game it's pretty much dead last if you really look at the others. You could wait and see if they fix it and then do it. Or just do fates here and there too you get them all and waste your time learning the new primal/coil.
Well I lied, I refreshed.. well fuck. @ Zen Its simply just stupid and to everyone else: Unless you are on welfare (if so then lol) then my money doesnt go into your pocket now does it? Your opinions are invalid.
Its suck and not fair. Spend more time (not =) you can get it faster. Or the drop rate is base on 100,000,000 times? Depend on luck really bullxxxx with that.
I hope SE can state clear about the drop rate 1%, 2% or how many FATEs within. I really dion't want to waste the time and monthly fee to do this stupid thing. Or I go to input more contract fee, so I can get it easier? If so, I go to buy it lol
drop rate is 0.1% apparently
I love it. I love the fact that readily attainable guaranteed stuff (re: primal, dungeon loot) can be in game alongside shiny rng stuff.
It neither caters to the hardcore NOR the players seeking instant gratification.
A balance of both makes FFXIV a fantastic MMO.
I really have to stop reading threads like this
But they're just so damn funny.
To the OP: considering you offer no constructive criticism, no suggestion as to provide a similar time-sink without the failings you feel are here... Why should anyone care about your opinion?
On a tangent... 0.1% highly unlikely. I doubt someone has done enough sampling to even be able to hazard that guess. I'd say 5% is a more likely figure. It's low enough to screw folks over on a bad streak of RNG but common enough to be a reasonable timeline (to that effect, I've done 0.01% drop rates before on rare spawns, this is nothing).
See Ya, Take Care!
I cancelled my automatic renewal. If they fix it by the end of next month I'll turn it back on but aside from that, no thanks
Most of my FC has quit over the Atma issue.
My main Monk is i90, I don't need ATMA. However, I played FFXI and I refuse to keep playing a game if it's going in that direction. I'll just bow out now, if people genuinely want a horrible grind of a game, power to them. Sadly my job and social life take up a lot of my time. I enjoyed the fact that with a competent casual coil/EX raid group most of us were able to achieve i85-i90 before the release of 2.2 with 2 nights of 2 hours a night. This ATMA garbage is just a grind to keep people busy with limited content.
I did my time in FFXI, I'm not doing it again and I'll find something else to occupy my limited gaming time.
Same as above. I can understand the grinding thing with atmas but it's definitely not how I want the game to be. Spent a lot of time on FFXI when I was younger and now that I am close to 30 the RNG stuff is definitely not for me, I can spend time in order to get an item but not when its based on pure luck and not when it consists on doing boring low level stuff, dont have enough time to do boring things in a game. Automatic renwal cancelled until things change.
Goodbye. I really enjoyed finding the atmas and completing my first book so far.
Seems there is a lot of animosity btw people with and without Atma weapons. I regret telling my FC I got mine.
Then again they bragged about almost beating Levi EX without me, so I had to say something.
Is this what Yoshida wanted, implement content to turn brother against brother? Serious my bro is pissed I got my atma weapon before him.
I demand an answer but, let's face it, he doesn't care about the community.
It doesn't faze me because I had to deal with RNG for exp in 1.0. My lancer literally stole exp from my other party members, good ol Feint.
Its easy for people like William to look down on others, he clearly never struggled a day in his life.
No problem with william really it's good for him that he got his atma and can now start with books. I even think the book system is interesting and I like it. I just decided not to do atmas because of the reasons I explained before (mainly too time consuming with no garantee to get it done in a specified amount of time, and also really really boring). Anyway posting on forums won't solve the problem that's why I cancelled my auto renewal because I believe the only strong message that can be sent is if SE sees accounts number dropping. If no such thing happens then it means most of the players are ok with atmas and then I'll just go play another game.
He does, but the game is really to blame. I mean seriously, its like running a never ending race for some. For others its a light jog.
Grinding is good, if you feel you are getting somewhere.
It all boils down to either being lucky or the kind of person who has no life and plays this game 24/7.
Our group is just on edge because we haven't beaten any of the new content.
I believe there is some trick to it, no one has figured it out yet. My trick is spam flash and hope for the best.
I don't have a single atma yet, and I'm fine with it. I actually have stuff to do, outside of fc scheduled events. Between crafting, gathering, doing bray for the minion and then fates for atma, I'm actually playing the game. Thus having more good times with my fc. Laughing and making jokes about stupid things.
Before, it was to the point some of us didn't care about capping myth. We'd all only log in for coil, then log out.
I get farming can be frustrating... believe me. But being frustrated is one thing. Throwing a fit is another.
I've putten well over 30 hours now without a single atma drop, Just yesterday i helped someone to begin this horrible quest, i invited him to my pt which was going on for a few hours, seen people leave and come(get there drop and leave) PT keeps getting filled everytime someone leaves, the first fate he did, he had his drop. Now don't get me wrong but i had the sudden urge to strangle this dude =P Its just SO random its frustrating as hell.
WTF? I rushed atma in 1 day and a half and I already got it. Stop crying xD
And not to be a bitch you, but you are the people that got lucky and think well i did it it was easy for ME so no one should be crying, New flash there have been people with over 40 hours now that have yet to see a single atma drop.
So just because you were lucky enough doesn't mean everyone is.

Troll much?
Farmed for 4 hours and got nothing, if anyone complains about this at this point they are not Q.Qing, they are just not lifeless sobs willing to do whatever they are told to do. If this becomes the norm for anything else I quit as well. Time would be better spent on the over priced train wreck particular mmo that just released.
Btw this is my first forum post ever, and I have been active and playing since release.
Well you better start believing it, because it IS happening. I am, unfortunately, one of those poor souls that hasn't seen another atma after 30+ hours since Sunday. And before you put your troll face back on, yes I am wearing my zenith curtana while spamming the right areas. RNG is RNG, trolls like you get lucky, doesn't mean the rest of us do.
As YoshiP said in the interviews this new Zodiac Systyem is another method to obtaining high level weapon. It's an option the players can choose.
1) From end-game dungeon - Bahamut's Coil
2) From Leviathan Ex (upgraded)
3) From upgrading your existing relic through this zodiac system, atma, etc...
If #3 is too hard for you, you still have option 1 & 2. No one is forcing you to get your relic upgraded, it's meant to be hard and long.
Do 1 & 2 and for 3 just do fates whenever you see them while doing other stuff, if you're lucky you'll progress. If you're grinding just #3 and complaining about it then that's your own fault.
However I do agree that the RNG factor for the drop rate is too extreme, they should place some sort of system where drop rate will increase say 0.1% per fate completion. This will at least take time but will also increase the drop rate. Only problem with this is it needs to be stored server side and that can lead to more processing with amount of players running FATE's right now. If they put that information on client side, people can hack it. Either way it still depends on the RNG, so those that are lucky will get with 1 try, those that are not will take 300 tries, even if it increased the chance by 50% you still have a 50% chance where it won't drop, if that continues, playesr will still complain lol.
I completed my first set in about 13 hours. I have 4 atmas again and spent maybe 20 minutes. Guess I am just lucky, but the other day I got back to back atmas. Out of about 20 people I talked to, they all receive one in an average of an hour and half. Considering you can get it in a few days is not awful. Look how long it took people to clear all three hard mode primals.
Hey! quick thought exercise for everyone in these threads mentioning how fast they got their atma; if like, hundreds of people were posting that a major plot progression quest was simply broken, they couldn't turn it in, mobs wouldn't spawn, etc. but it had worked for you when you tried... would you feel the need to jump in and ask what all the whiners were complaining about?
No? Because that would be incredibly redundant, condescending and stupid? Cool! Please keep it in mind in the future, and thanks in advance.
Are you mad? hard? what do you find hard about this quest? It all comes down to ones luck which is pure BS.
Sure luck should be involved to a degree, but this is just BS. i've seen multiple people going on for 15-20 hours without a drop while other people get 3 in 5 hours or w/e.
I think this is a rather absurd analogy. complaints about atma farming is nowhere near the same as a broken dungeon. let's be real with the complaints about atma farming. people just want to be able to see the finish line and hate that other people's finish lines came up faster than their own. that's the complaint. not that a dungeon is broken.
That's why I suggested to increase the drop rate, it's pure RNG and I hate RNG... but if they're not going to fix RNG basically same as it being hard, it's pure luck based...
Want them to add do 2000 fates and get 1 atma if RNG isn't going to work? which is better? lol
Right now the Atma (phase 1 of zodiac) is hard but once 2.3 or 2.25 is introduced they may make the first phase, 2nd phase of the progression easier (increase drop rate, make it 100% drop) either way you're still going to hit a wall once again when trying to overcome the new phase of the quest so people will keep on complaining about RNG.
If they put in non-RNG method it's going to be something crazy like I mentioned above 2000 fates for example for 1 atma, I can see people complaining if that happened too.
