SCH 2.2 BiS Discussion

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on what they consider BiS for SCH gear.
Calculators: ariyala.com , XIVdb.

The maximum crit you can get in 2.1 Bis was 513(17%) in 2.2, its 538(18%) at the cost of some other stats.

As you can see, 2.2 makes very little progression in the way of secondary stats and the gear seems split between crit and det.
I don't think its worth it to max crit at the cost of other secondary stats. So I went for as much Det as I can get while still maintaining the same
Piety and other secondary properties as 2.1 BiS.

Only difference are the shoes/bracers.
37 Crit + 38 SS VS 31 Det + 23 PIE. I never had any issue with mp on my SCH(unless I die), so its basically 37 Crit + 38 SS against 31 Det, unless T6-9 is highly mana intensive....

In regards to mana intensity you may be right, (currently on t8) we'll see as of yet I don't see a mana issue as of yet. @XmasMint, her BiS is on point but if the mana isn't needed I'd recommend the High Allagan leggings in place of the Daystar Breeches. SS is a minuscule upgrade, but certainly helps the fairies gcd along with overall cd of moves via: Whispering Dawn. we'll see though.

I ve kinda heard that crit cap as a whole on adloquium is actually removed, which make succor and well, single target adloquium, absolutely crazy.

Hope it s just a bug because theres a few scholars there with 600 crit and its just ridiculous if it turn out to be true.

since the patch i've noticed my heals critting more. i've also noticed my monk dodging more.

There never was a cap on Aldo to begin with and no one has done any kind of testing to say otherwise.

Question, just moved over to maining SCH from PLD. When you mean max crit? Do you mean the point at which adding more crit is worthless or do you mean the max amount of crit you can get with items available in the game? Also, is crit still the go to stat to stack or should one balance it with det?

A bit of both. It's the most amount of crit you can get per item level. Because going down in item level to stack more crit is counter intuitive.

It comes down to, how much crit you can get without sacrificing other stats. I can't tell the difference at all between 511 and 540 crit and would rather have more Det.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole Atma/Zodiac weapon thing. If the High Allagan Grimoire is BiS, is there really much reason to spend so much time getting the Zodiac? Or do we just expect that to get better at some point?

Zodiac weapon is guaranteed. There's a lot of losers in Allagan rng.

I've been farming Twintania since December and only recently got my Allagan book. Most will get their Zodiac before they even see Turn 9.

Same question I also did think over. Allagan book ist the onliest one before high allagan book with crit. I will try to farm the T5 book today.

But one question ist still in my mind: make it sense to replace it with something else before I someday get the high allagan book?

Yes. As the item level of your weapon goes up, so does the magic damage and mind bonus on the weapon. Weapon damage and mind have the greatest impact on base healing than any other statistic. That would make the Omnilex Animus, Tidal Wave Codex, and Weathered Book of Diamonds all more effective than the Allagan Grimoire.

how accurate would you guys say the healing calculators are on blitzball? Specifically the "Healing Returns" calculator?

i'm really interested in knowing, because if the "Healing Returns" calculator is accurate, then the only difference between this i104 23.52% Crit-Rate build and this i110 19.06% Crit-Rate build is a 1.89% difference in total healing despite a pretty big difference of 21 Mind.

if it's accurate, i honestly don't think the difference in mind would bother me, too much.

From iLvl 90 to iLvl 100 weapons I'm with you, as it give 3 points of weapon base. But from the iLvl 95 to 100 weapon, the benefit is only one point and loosing 39 points critical hit rate.

That the benefit from the upgraded new rowena weapons (iLvl 110) will be more (4 points), is no question. But would really like to see some calculations, why it should be sould be worth to loose that crit points by replacing the weapon with any iLvl 100 weapon (no one has crit on it).
