Atma Progression Thread

Today I farmed for about five hours and obtained my first two Atmas. How close are the rest of you to completion?

11 hours / 1 atma o_O

12 hours first day of patch 12 atmas. atma weapon in hand. also 500 more myth tomes for first book.

About this same amount of time, but still 0 Atma. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

30 hours 10 atma

I can't tell you my time in hours because I was not paying attention or tracking it that way. However, I got all 12 atmas in approximately 250 FATEs; actually a bit below that. That's probably a better way of tracking it anyway, considering two people can do a very different amount of work in the same time.

0 atma in 20 hours? You better recheck and make sure you've met all the qualifications, like fighting with your Zenith weapon equipped and having space in your inventory.

15hrs 2 atmas the grind is real

Clocking in at 14 hours / 1 atma.

8 hours 2 atma

I don't take off my Zenith weapon on my main class, ever. Inventory space might possibly have been an issue at various times, though... Hmm. If my inventory was full and I got the drop, though, you would assume there would have been a message, no?

Yes, I've been fooled once. It says in the chatlog that you could not get an item. So frustrating, its long and boring enough to get them...

finshed in about 17-20 hours
halfway thro book 1 of 9 for upgrade

742 FATE later, 4 Atma. Total time, too damn high.

Finished in 16 hours and i am 1 FATE away from finishing 3rd book.

1. Atma after 41 FATEs
2. changed location after another 40 fates
3. Fating while doing beastmen dailies in la noscea - got it after about 10 fates
Back to two - got it after another 23 fates
4. After 6 FATEs xD
All shrouds finished, going for thanalan
11 fates later my number 5 dropped - seems thanalan likes me... Well now im again at 10 fates, waiting for my sixth but im doing fine like now and tbh i dont mind farming/grinding at all

7 hours 0 atmas, rapidly losing the will to continue

More or less 16 hours and 4 atmas.
I'm completely sick and tired of it.

I had really good drop rates from 1-4, 3 being from the shroud.
Then in central thanalan i did 280 fates and nothing yet

It's okay. I spent 3 1/2 days on my first Atma....

Then last night in my first FATE I got my second Atma. Continuing later than I should have stayed up...I quickly found my luck was short lived.

I don't know how many hours I've put into it. Maybe 5 or 6 total? I have 5 Atmas. Logged in this morning before work in East Shroud, did the Mead escort leve, got my Atma, logged out and went to work. It was pretty satisfying.

I've been doing this pretty casually as I'm more interested in grinding out gear from Coil. If you go at it all day it's of course going to wear you down. Doing it in smaller spurts seems better, but if you can handle the grind then more power to ya.

Spent pretty much the whole weekend farming these. Best was getting two within half an hour. Worst was farming in lower la nocsea for almost ten. Total so far for the 11 I have about 35 total hours.

My last one I've been farming for in western thanalan and it's been about 5 hours so far. I hope to get it tonight when I get home from work.

Then I can kiss this ridiculously boring timesink portion good bye.

7 atma, reaching 50h. please kill me.

Ive gotten all mine, and im working on the book but in the book you have to do 3 more fates and they just take forever to spawn, been sitting in East Shroud waiting for The Enmity of My Enemy to spawn and it just wont.... I did it last night at 330am but I got a silver and it didn't count. SADFACE.

To get Atma you must have your +1 equipped and be getting Gold on the fate. Better party up to make things easier.

Got my 12th one last night. So with all the hours added up it looks like this broken down based on the times I recorded:

Atma of Fish: 10 hours
Atma of Bull: 7 hours
Atma of Twins: 5 hours
Atma of Scales: 4 hours
Atma of Crab: 3 hours
Atma of Goat: 2 hours
Atma of Archer: 2 hours
Atma of Ram: 1 1/2 hours
Atma of Water: 1 hour
Atma of the Maiden: 30 mins
Atma of Lion: 30 mins
Atma of Scorpion: 30 mins

So it was about 37ish hours of pure atma farming from Thursday evening, over the weekend, to last night when I finally got the last one (atma of Twins). I did not account the breaks I took running coil and HM dungeons.

So the best was getting two in one hour and the worst was the 10 grind in lower la noscea as I stated in a previous post.

So it RNG can very so I hope this helps with people how might be a little discouraged after getting nothing for hours of FATE grinding.

You don't need gold to get an atma. And being in a party has zero bearing on getting one or not. 9 of mine came solo.

Hey guys, I finished getting all of the Atma's yesterday. Started on 3/30, finished 4/2. I kept a counter of the number of FATEs that I had to do for each Atma:

East Shroud and Western Thanalan took the longest for me. The others were not too bad especially Lower La Noscea which surprised me at 3 FATEs.

I just started at the top of the list in the quest log and did FATEs in that zone until I received the Atma. Did some with parties but mostly with just the chocobo and I.

Anyway, hope this gives you guys some idea of what to expect but we really are definitely at the mercy of the RNG. Good luck with the Atma hunting!

I also kept count of my area fates, more for statistical reasons as I know a lot of people are wondering what the drop rate is (and the more people who do keep track, the better the chance we pinpoint what it is).

40 hours, still at 2/12. I hate RNG

11/12. Been farming the last one in East shroud for 3 days.

Got atma today after spending about 4 hour of fate a day

The longest atma for me was 4 hour 13 mins (Atma of the Crab)
The shortest atma for me was around 2 min, by clearing only 1 fate in the region (Atma of the Lion)

The funny thing is on my 8th to 11th atma i got them only 15 min apart from each other, they have one thing in common one being in the same area (la noscea) and only handfull of people doing the fate dunno if this have anything to do with drop rates
