Party sort macro

Thought I'd post this little macro up so you don't have to manually sort party on every group.

Its rather simple and only has the one purpose, but it'll make life easier nonetheless.

Well this is nifty.

What does psort do? I googled it but Google grins smugly and gives me sport instead

That would be "party sort".

The idea - as I could tell it - is to bind to Protect, which you will cast in the beginning of a run anyway, thus you will hit two birds with one stone, sorting the party while casting the buff. (Not that this is a big deal anymore anyway, with the "sort party" -button in the party options too, but this is a shortcut to even that).

Must say that I've never heard of "sort party" before. What does it do?

I usually have to manually put tanks on the 2nd party slot. All the time. 6 clicks on the party window when the guy's at 8th slot.

New with patch 2.2 it sorts the party in a You > tank > heal > dps configuration.
You'll you find the manual button for it on the bottom of your social menu.

I find it sort by HP, not roles. Where can I change it ?

edit : to be specific, I clicked sort on part list window, not using macro.

In addition to the current “/psort” command to organize your party list, in patch 2.3 we will also be making it so you can fully customize the order you would like your party list to be displayed. :)

Can't say I've noticed that till now, there is no other way to sort the party, although it makes sense to put higher hp 5-8 as they're normally melee who take more damage anyway.

Oh man. LIKE! DO LIKE!!

I'm one of those odd black sheep of the herd - I don't like my tanks that far up on the list. I've always grouped healer from tank, separated by a melee dps.

Can we also have it done automatically if we want to? It's a minor annoyance having to keep doing it manually.

I usually like to order my list as:

me (healer)
dps
dps
tank
tank
dps
dps
healer

That way if I focus have tanks selected everyone is only at most 3 ups or downs away. I'd love to be able to auto sort to this. :D

epic!

playing a healer I like to sort healers, tank, dps...but in an 8man grp, the 2nd healer goes under the 2 tanks (don't like that, im too picky lol) and I havta manually move him back above the 2 tanks.

this customise order would be the answer I think :D

I do:

Healer (me)
Healer
DPS (ranged)
DPS
DPS
DPS (Melee)
Tank
Tank (main ideally)

I use a gamepad so it's quicker to select members from the top or bottom of the list rather than middle. Also, I like to group the melee and ranged so I can see when to use aoe heals.

Me
Tank (s)
DPS
Healer (s)

That'as the order I like. That way, if I'm tanking, the other tank is right under me so I can watch for stacks in tank swap situations. If I'm healing, the tanks are right under me (so it's easy to heal myself while keeping the tank focused as I'm on controller) and as a bard, the healers are at the bottom of the list and it's very easy to glance at their mana. So, the current psort is useless to me. I honestly wish they'd allow us to lock in how the list is structured, so we wouldn't have to manually change everything each time.
