i think alot of people are really dissapointed with this, i really love the new content, but the story quest were SO dull. basicly i runned around for hours to fight leviathan. which i won on my 1st try, Thats something i never did in XI story line. Its made way to easy in my opinion. And then we have the relic upgrade, which i spend over 7 hours farming now without one single drop. Its just very dull, and its not the 7 hours not getting a drop, its the 7 hours doing low level fates what bothers me. There is no progression nor real fun for me, and not even a remote challenge.
Maybe it's because I love this game's world and lore but I loved the story missions. And Leviathan (story) was a 1 shot, yeah, but you need to account for the fact a large amount of the playerbase is massively overgeared for it. My group, for example, were all i90. 8 i90 vs an encounter designed for i60? That's tons weaker than even t1 or any of the ex. EX Levi should be fun. (Though I was disappointed with the lack of rail destruction in hm)
I seriously HATE this new ATMA FATE grinding bull****. I enjoyed the new content, but I will not grind a thousand fates just for a single drop. I know I will eventually become bored of this, and bored quickly. Square, you need to raise the drop rate or something.
I agree, this is so broken. We all love a good grind and challenging content, unfortunately FATE's (especially low level) I have no passion for, and I don't see how anyone could.
I personally see it as a timesink, and it doesn't bother me. People can't get an uber weapon within 1 to 2 days after patch comes out, then walk around acting elite.
It's not just the long grind, which would be ok by itself, it's it being totally random. It's not equal between players. Player A can get lucky and get all 12 in 1/10th the time and work Player B has to put in.
Well, on the bright side, if there is a bright side... If you like achievements and stuff like that and don't have FATE related achievements, you will probably put a nice dent in them by doing this.
omg, people complain about timesink in getting relic upgrade, which if you havent heard is not the absolute best you can get right now, being so unaccommodating to all players. Let me make a simple breakdown for you all.
Relic upgrade = easy but time consuming if your RNG doesnt want you to have it.
EX weps = easy if you have skill to accomplish the tasks.
Upgraded Levi Wep = Skill to win and RNG to drop (only 9 available tho so...)
Coil weps = skill and RNG
So lookie there, so many other options. They are making options for EVERYONE that is fair imo. if you dont have the skill and have to grind out this stuff then its gonna take time. EVERY MMO is pretty much the same.
The problem isn't so much in the mechanic of it, the problem is that it's the next step in the relic chain.
People are attached to their relics, that's why they, we, get so up in arms about it.
We don't want our rellics to be easy, but time consuming to get. We want to earn our upgrades.
If the peasants want to grinds out easy weapons, let them do it with something else than our relics.
In the end, I'm mostly upset about everybody buying into this nonsense when they could be doing Leviathan EX, which isn't even that hard of a fight.
Not nearly enough people out there even willing to try the fight, because they're too busy farming fates.
