So what's expert about the "expert dungeons"?

After running the three new dungeons, it seems to me like their difficulty is on par with or easier than Haukke and Copperbell HM, definitely easier than Pharos Sirius even with the new nerfs.

I'm not complaining about that part as such, they're very fun to play ('cept for Brayflox maybe, that one's a little boring). But since the 2.1 dungeons are in the same ballpark couldn't we get the same rewards from them as well? Would make for a wider variety of stuff to grind.

And your gear level is how much above requirements? If you were in partial DL, just close to i70, Amdapor Town would be significantly harder to complete and the DPS race on Diabolos would be a much closer call.

Probably hit the nail on the head. These new dungeons should be tuned for people below ilvl 70, who still need their DL stuff (as that's what drops). Running through them with some FC mates was a cinch, but we're also full ilvl 90.. so any mistakes we made could almost always be healed through while we fumbled through mechanics. I can definitely see them being harder pre-darklight gear.

^QFT. But, I actually think the topic still holds a valid question in why we're calling these "Expert" dungeons. :P

Did Halatali with a group in mostly mixmatched AF + DL, and it was still super easy.

Also what dps race on Diabolos? If you mean before his ultimate kills you... don't let it? Do the mechanics properly instead of trying to brute force your way through them.

There are 4 pairs of doors and when you use one, it's gone for the rest of the battle. If you don't have the dps to defeat Diabolos before he uses his ultimate the fifth time, you are gonna wipe, there are no more doors left to use.

I think it's just because they decided to do the rewards in definite tiers so people going for soldiery can use that roulette. They definitely don't seem to be tuned all the same or specifically harder than 2.1's dungeons though. Brayflox in particular was extremely easy. I did all of the dungeons with randoms and Brayflox was the only one without any wipes (without knowing mechanics going in).

If anything I might have expected them to put heavy myth rewards in the 2.1 dungeons so they could serve that purpose. As it is now, I don't see any reason to ever redo, except perhaps for the myth reward from roulette.

I think someone geared in its full i90 cannot talk about difficulty of the new dungeons. If the OP want challenges, he just have to gear in its old i55 gear and have fun trying to clear them.

especially Halatali, as a healer I am struggling to not fall asleep

Because SE once put Pharos Sirius together with other dungeons and a lot people start crying about it's too hard.

Perhaps from a lower item level perspective they're more challenging and thus deserve to be rewarded better.

Solution... Don't run them with your best geared class. If you only have one.. then level another!

I've got to agree that these dungeons don't seem nearly as difficult as the three we got in 2.1. The bosses provide much more interesting mechanics, that's for sure, but the overall difficulty doesn't compare to Haukke HM, Copperbell HM, or Pharos. Even in i80 groups there were fights where you had to stay on your toes. Admittedly, maybe that made them more difficult than they should have been at their recommended levels, but I liked the challenge they provided.

Honestly, adding an iLvl sync would solve any issues of difficulty, but we all know how that discussion ends up...

I personally prefer an easier difficulty as long as the mechanics of the dungeon and bosses are just plain fun. I want to have to jump through hoops, but I don't want to beat my head against a wall.

After I did the new dungeons, I felt a little disappointed because I found them very easy and this wasn't the case when I first did Pharos, Copperbell, and Haukke when 2.1 came out. Then I realized that back then I was in the item level 60's area, and now I'm ilv 90 and many people I'm grouping up with are either i90 as well or close to it. These dungeons aren't as easy as much as we are overgeared for them.

A good example of this is the first boss of Brayflox, where you have to start memorizing the order in which bombs spawn when DPS aren't overgeared. The same happens in City of Amdapor, where you can survive Diabolos' "one hit kill" if you have enough max HP, and survive the Cyclops' swing in Halatali, where it would 1HKO you in AV.

If you want a challenge, don't enter dungeons requiring a minimum of ilv of 55 in ilv 80-90 gear. Although, I would definitely love some new dungeons tuned for high iLv players.
