Positivity Thread - Post what you LIKE and be HAPPY!

First off, the worst part about FFXIV is the negativity in the community. I'm sick of it. Let's talk about what we like in the game!

#1 The graphics are BEAUTIFUL! I still get blown away when I log into XIV after playing XI. Don't get me wrong, I love XI but when you see the lighting effects and character designs in XIV it makes me fall in love again.

#2 Fast paced battle. I think this is what will set XIV apart from XI. Not spam battles but quick battles with strategy will make this feel like a good old school FF. When the battle system is fixed, tweaked, and when battle regimens are tweaked it will be incredible

#3 Guildleves. Beats sitting in Jeuno waiting for a party. :D (yes I know it's not that way anymore but it was at NA launch!)

Amen, I've actually been looking for one of these. (positive thread)

I like the foundation for class lore with the class specific quests/stories. How they have their own buildings/locations and can see their impact on the world around you. I see great potential in this and I realize implementing it for each class to be released would not be time efficient, but it would be very immersive and open up a lot of doors for content options.

Ok I guess I can shimey in on some positive notes about the game I mean I plan to stick around for a while...and while I am very critical of FF14 I still love it and want to see it improve...

#1 on my Intel Core I7 GTX 470 SSC this game looks AMAZING...probably best graphics I have ever seen in an MMO
#2 The world is huge, could be bigger tho
#3 GuildLeves are a good idea and to reward GUildMarks for specific class' is also a great Idea...

#1 Too laggy during Japan peak times, if you haven't noticed you have not been playing during Japan Peak times, hence server issues


#2 Buying/selling is a pain.

1) everything looks real pretty

2) All of the armor looks really nice and mix and matches really well allowing for some unique costumes.

3) the flow of combat for mid sized-small groups is pretty nice.

4) Multiclassing is neat and lets me make things like damage gladiators or tank mages.

5) I cant lose a level once i've gained it.

I like this forum. There are a lot of people that say completely nonsensical things and that I can mock.

It makes me smile :D

1. The graphics are really amazing. What's most amazing about the graphics is that nothing is just 'drawn on'. Everything is so texturized and three-dimensional, even the armor and clothing. However, one thing about the graphics which I don't like is the immediate change between low and high res textures. For example, in the distance there is always a noticeable line separating them. Sorry for that small amount of negativity, but everything can be improved!

2. Crafting. Being able to control the craft and having HQ mats really gives you a sense that you actually are a crafter, rather than just someone who can activate RNGs. Also, when the game was new, there was always the thrill of being the first to craft an item. Crafters really play a significant role in the world, and that's something lacking from most MMOs.

3. Variety of armor. Besides the fact that nowadays everyone just wears Dodore Doublets and Buccaneers Shirts, the wealth of different colorations and types of armor for every level is really overwhelming. Another thing is that despite having so many different armors, they are all in harmony with one another.

4. The armory system. It could be improved, but the idea behind it: being able to build your own class is very curious. And I hope they maintain this system while making it more functional in the future.

5. I like that deer run away from you and also that some monsters follow and cast protective spells on you... oh wait... they don't do that anymore.

I love the silky smooth skin on everything in the game. I will have to get that recipe sometime!

Graphics are definitely stunning. When this game reaches full potential I don't believe there's anything else I will want to play for a long time.. FFXIV will be like a pheonix rising from the ashes to be greater than any next generation RPG out there. I have faith in this team.

There's quite a bit I like, but I'll just mention the biggest one.

I like that I can get on, knowing I have only an hour or so to play, and actually get something accomplished. There are a variety of features in play that allow me to do this.

1. Anima - I know people seem to *hate* being able to teleport for some reason, but for people like me, it's a Godsend. Travel in FFXI ate up a huge amount of my time.

2. Leves - Another aspect a lot of people seem to hate on. For me, being able to hop in, pick a leve or two, tele to where I need to go, and get a bunch of SP, means I can actually enjoy the game on days I don't have a whole lot of time.

3. Behest - It's nice knowing that every hour on the hour I can head to a camp, find a party, and kill things for some quick SP before I have to log.

NO matter how few and far between they are the main story line quests were great.

Behests in theory are awesome and fun, till LS get competitive for them but not SE's fault, just ours lol.

Eh I'm still thinking......some faction leves are cool. (drakes, amaal'ja, nm leves)

1. I love the graphics.

2. I like the crafting system. It actually makes you feel somewhat special when you succeed a tough recipe. I prefer this system a lot more to the WoW/LotrO gather mats, click craft, succeed system.

3. Somewhat related to 1, but after playing WoW and LotrO for a while, its nice to cloth armour look like cloth, leather look like leather and mail look like mail.

4. I like the customization with the classes that we have currently, though I can understand if some of this will get taken away in order to give us more focused roles. I like that you can play every class on one character, which makes you feel like your other efforts(crafting/gathering/storyline) is not wasted on alts.
