Anyone find any La Noscean soil yet? Or any soil?

Like the title of the thread says - and if so where? I`ve hit nodes from Lvl 50 - 30 and quite a few times on each. No luck. I know they are `rare` but any pointers would help.

Btw I did get la Noscean lettuce seeds - the lvl 15 BOT nodes right outside Summerford farms. It will show up at the bottom as 25% unknown - you know what to do!

I spent about 15 minutes or so gathering Grade 2 La Noscean Topsoil before I finally saw one appear on a node (the level 50 quarry points by Moraby, as the gathering log suggests). The odds are just very very small for it to appear.

Shroud topsoil Grd2 Bramble Patch-East Shroud(Hidden Item) appears randomly same as maps

Is there a mistake in the gathering log? It says for Thanalan soil (grade 2) to go to level 50 nodes in Nopheca wells but the only nodes I saw there were level 30. A friend referenced another map and NW was labeled with level 15 nodes. Never did get any Thanalan soil, couldn't find it. I managed to get two grade 2, Shroud soil from the Bramble Patch and some grade 1 La Noscean soil from level 30 nodes in a mine somewhere in La Noscea though.

Yes, it seems to be a mistake. The nodes are in the southwest of the zone, near that small encampent on the western shore. x19, Y28 area. Hope that helps :)

Grade 3 La Noscean soil seems to spawn around 9pm Eorzean Time, Middle La Noscea, near the Lower La Noscea zone. Needs 370 Gathering.

I planted some seeds and watered them. How do you get fertilizer? Will your plant die without it, or does it just speed up the growing process? ^o^

It's my understanding that, just like in real life, as long as you're watering the plan, it'll live. :) Fertilizer just enhances.

The drop rate for the soil is awful. I gathered for about an hour and only managed to score one. Need two soil for my seeds. Guess I'm going to have to meld up my Miner and harvest lv3 soil; it'd probably be more efficient and less frustrating.

I haven't checked all the housing areas yet but I bought fishmeal from one of the vendors in the Lavender Beds area in Gridania. I fertilized my plants once after I planted my seeds, then have been tending it once a day. I read you can fertilize it once every Earth hour though.

Fishmeal is also a lvl 5 Culinarian recipe.

But on the topic of gathering soil. Getting Grade 2 soil anywhere is a royal pain in the ass. Haven't checked the pop rate of Grade 1 soil. I might just farm that if it's faster. Have 24 garden spots and only getting 2 soils per hour (when I'm lucky) is annoying.

The Lv2 Soils appear in any of the Lv50 Mining Nodes in their respective areas (Thanalan topsoil in Northern Thanalan Lv50 spots, near Camp Bluefog, for example). Soils are considered hidden ores, so they appear randomly, just like treasure maps. You can easily get a few Level 2 while farming for Maps.

Lv3 appears on Unspoiled Nodes I believe. So they actually force you to use Toil of the Mountaineer to get those.

I've successfully been mining grade 2 soils which seem to be very rare. Grade 1 soils seem to show up more frequently though so I've been using them a lot. Have not found grade 3 yet.

It seemed to me that grade 1 soil spawned at least 3 times more often than grade 2. And La Noscean soil was rarer, but maybe that was just my luck.

Grade 3 soil seems to spawn in unspoiled mining nodes that were added in 2.2 (see patch notes). I always got them in the same slot so far.

Seems to take an hour plus for me to get grade 2 soil. Had a full party of miners at bramble one day for about an hour and only got 3 soils between us. Was pretty awful.

I got 4 grade 1 Shroud soil in about an hour near Little Solace iirc. Also got 4 grade 1 LaNoscean soil in about an hour.

Haven't gotten any grade 2 soil yet, and I'm not a high enough level to go find any higher.
