If I wipe for 30 minutes in DF and then drop group

because people don't want to Vote Abandon...

I shouldn't eat the 30 minute debuff.

Kept wiping on Copperbell Mines Hard 1st boss because DPS wasn't fast enough to kill bombs. 1st one spawn, wipe. 1st one spawn, wipe. 1st one spawn, wipe. Vote abandon doesn't pass, drop group, 30 minute debuff. I guess I was supposed to spend 60 more minutes dying to first bomb.

Once Vote Abandon becomes available, Leaving Party shouldn't apply the debuff.

30 mins and then a drop is still unacceptable.

You ran the first boss 3 times and want to leave is no excuse. ESPECIALLY when DPS queues for 40 minutes to get in, You are definitely taking advantage of Tank insta-queue.

How about explaining to the DPS what they are supposed to do, that the bomb exploding will wipe the party... priority should be on the bombs, then adds, then boss.... just like in every other fight.

Even if I ran as a DPS, and my other DPS partner wasnt holding his weight, i would struggle through it, til success. its a 90 minute timer, if we can get past the first boss, there is still a chance to successfully complete the raid...

30 mins in, and still failing, plus 40-50 minutes to queue in means I would have invested an hour and 15 minutes for a vote abandon.... its called being committed to the fail...

If you vote abandon, you can requeue and get yours in the next raid probably within a minute.... so yea.. if you want to drop, you should suffer the penalty. No excuses... you should be committed to the raid. And there lies the problem with the ENTIRE tank community.... the first bad smell of failure, and you are spamming to vote abandon because the whole process is taking up too much of your precious time.

I get it. I WAS a main BRD... ive leveled my tank, and now rock as a ilvl 80 WAR for all my duty roullettes because of the insta-queue... but there comes a point where you have to take responsibility for your role. If you drop from a complete party, and get the penalty. go cry about it. You should be more sympathetic to the others in your party 's time to, that you have now wasted over an hour of theirs by your selfish drop.

DPS is NEVER not enough in a raid that is designed to be completed with ilvl 50 gear! It may be them not functioning in their role correctly, and hence it is assigned to your party to teach, tutor, correct, and grow with to find success. Its the impatient elitists in the community that bring about this very sour attitude of "3 wipes and i drop"...

Moral of the story: IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOUR GROUP TO PUT FORTH THE EFFORT TO COMPLETE!

To add the post above me:

You chose not to teach new players. You also chose to limit the amount of practice they were able to get. Now those bad DPS are going to get slotted into another party where someone else might quit on them because they're "terrible". See how this cycle creates horrible DPS?

Take the time to teach people. You'll be amazed at how much people can improve with simple instruction. Then those people might pass it on, and the community as a whole reaps the benefits. Dropping a raid or dungeon after a wipe or three simply means people will never learn their job properly because next time, maybe they'll be slotted with an excellent DPS and essentially get carried through content because they lucked into a party where they're the only one that sucks (through no fault of their own, I might add). Even tanks can be carried by a pair of excellent DPS and a stellar healer. Everyone should be committed to helping others improve, it's the only way you're going to curtail the amount of bad players you see in DF.

Its not really even about helping others improve..... The goal is to complete the mission assigned. FINISH THE RAID.... why leave and waste everyone's time.... just because your tome farm is being delayed.

If you opt to do a Duty Roullette, then you are opting for whomever queues up with you to be your compatriots!

IT IS COMMON DECENCY TO ATTEMPT TO FINISH..... even if that means struggling through 90 minutes of failure... Majority rules, if you disagree... you are welcome to leave.... and the 30 minute penalty is the consequence of your selfish actions

Yeah, suffer constant wipes on the first boss because there are a good deal of people who won't learn.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be a timer or anything of the sort, but reality is that not all people are willing to learn, much less be accepting of being given said teaching in the first place. Case by case basis honestly.

That kinda defeats the purpose of vote abandon to begin with.

Several times i have been wiping for 90 minutes (dungeon limit) but never quit first. Especially after 3 wipes - it's too early to ragequit - few more wipes and they would normally quit themselves.

I agree about explaining and everything, however I've been in groups who constantly wipe, and just don't communicate, I don't know they either don't understand English or whatever but that is the only thing that gets on my nerves, when u keep giving out advice and absolutely no response. In that situation I will totally abandon duty because there is no point in continuing to wipe like that

I do my daily tome runs and there been times that its not fast 15-20min runs. Guess what, I actually enjoy teaching some people and sometimes I carry a bad healer and dps and sometimes a good healer lets me faceroll my daily run. To be honest if you are dying that many times on the first boss I think you are not doing enough to make your group successful.

When a group wipes twice on this boss because of bombs, I take it upon myself to go and stun it and dps it and by the 4th or 5th time we get it done.

I agree with all the post, SE gives us 90minutes to finish the content not 30mins. I think you are just spoiled with insta-ques and should suffer the 30 min debuff because you will still get in a new group faster than a DPS.

Yah had a group in Amdapor Ruins last night. We ran it blind for our first time and DFed healer and Second DPS. We got to Diabolos easy enough but even after me and my FC mate figured out his mechanic we kept wiping because the WHM would click doors when he wasn't supposed to. We explained repeatedly and he kept doing it. Did we give up though? No.

This whole rant thread could have been avoided if you just adjusted and shield bashed the bombs self destruct.
