Master Recipe Books

Master recipes books require trading in x5 materials synthed from the previous philo mats, meaning 5x9 of those ex-philo mats are required.

Each takes 2500 GC seals now, so a total of 112,500 GC seals is needed for one recipe book.

Unless you are a 2nd Lt. in your GC you are going to be doing a lot of back and forth accumulating the required seals. These Mats were overpriced before the patch. They are even more so since the patch.

Provisioning missions now give FC points instead of GC points.

I looked and don't they cost 2500 each? Not 1000.

Guess it's a good thing the Zodiac weapon quests require so much fate grinding >>

The changing of Provisioning Missions to grant FC points seems particularly sadistic right now. We're crafters! I don't want to go outside and do guildleves! It's muddy out there!!!

They did increase the number of GC Seals you get though from handing in items from dungeons and what not. I got nearly 10,000 for less around 15 pieces of gear. So if you aren't using it, trade it!

According to the patch notes those should also be FC points now so if they're still handing out seals I'd expect that to be hot-fixed.

So if a player is a pure crafter, no stable seal accumulation, s/he's pretty much screwed?

Well, it's the same situation pure crafters were in before, since they had to rely on buying the philo mats from people earning the philo tomes. It may even be slightly cheaper now since no one's using seals for much else.

Basically this, give it a week. With everyone grinding for atma the market will be flooded again.

you forgot to mention that the items for the master books are 5x HQ items. I.E. armorer book requires 5x HQ darksteel ingots.

The patch notes don't say they give FC points instead of GC seals. Just that they give FC points. Could mean instead of or in addition to.

Good point! In which case I really hope I'm mistaken.

Am I the only one to remember that the Peisteskin Maps drop the ex-philo items pretty regularly? just do some Peiste runs with everyone in the group having maps.
