Crafting. Why has no one mentioned that Alchemy is now needed for everything

Every single body piece that you can craft at i90 requires Terminus Putty. Terminus Putty is made by Alchemists. The materials to make your alchemist i70 main hand/head piece require you to be in the Kobold tribe at an unspecified rank just to buy it (the vitriol) as well. So SE's way of making alchemists not useless was to make every other crafter require alchemists?

I don't mind Alchemists being the source of some main crafting mat. Goldsmiths/Weaver/Leatherworker have had their glory for a long time now. While they are at it, they should improve Blacksmiths and Armorer as well.

Besides that, I'm really disappointed they still haven't buffed potions though. People have been requesting lower cooldowns on potions for a long time now.

Damn. I guess I will be working on this one. GRRRR.

Great to see the alchemy love. I personally made over 4m in 2.1 with alchemy alone and I look forward to making even more.

My point is that having every single job rely on one job to do any of the new crafts is straight ridiculous. Goldsmith was OP before since every class uses accessories, but this is going a few leagues beyond that.

It's good - Potions and whatnot are 99% useless outside of Leve fodder.

Considering that alchemist's use otherwise is just tomes for ACN based jobs and shrubberies, I'm ok with this.

I like most posters here am ok with this. Alchemy wasnt great for omni-crafters pre 2.2 so to see them getting love is good. Plus this is the history of MMOs, once something seems weak and is complained about enough it gets over powered in a future patch.

Mega potions are always needed.

You mean you don't like having a 3 and a half? minute cool down Second Wind? That could save your life when something tickles you a little too hard.

Alchemy was the first DoH class I leveled to 50 and since then I barely had use for it. I think I used it once to hq the staff for my whm relic but that's it. I leveled a weaver some time after and have used that class more within the day I got it than I have the whole time having an alchemist. It's nice to know I will be able to really put to use alchemy since I did enjoy leveling it.

Well then, it's a good thing my alchemist is already lv 50. I seriously only wanted to level it so I could make myself Mega-potions of dex for raids...

All that work on Alchemist just for Comfort Zone just became a potential gold mine.

potent silencing potions save lives on ads.

I mainly leveled Alchemist because I liked the lab coat.

Glad to see I'll actually have more uses now.

Or you know guys, just level alchemist, if you actually want to make 3 stars you are gonna need skills from most of the classes anyways, so whats the deal? can't level one more class?

Doesn't every good crafter already have ALC at 50 for Comfort Zone?

So most will just be making their own putty anyway

And yes...I leveled ALC just for that ability...

said it in another thread but I am happy ALC finally getting some shine, like another here I also leveled ALC first thinking id be the go to guy early on for pots and to have the jump on getting my relic precursor melded since I knew I was going to main SCH I was saddened to see how useless the class was after a while (good thing I leveled CUL after! best craft class ever!)

but I am happy they gave ALC a new chance to be useful again besides melding books and making a few pots, I look forward to making many terminus putty in the future ^_^

The dps difference between someone who uses mega potions on bosses and someone who does not is fairly significant.

Hi Zumi, I may sound ignorant, but i do not understand how approximately 15 seconds of damage boost can be that noticable. I mean, i understand that it is a form of burst damage and you would want to use your most potent attacks during that time... but i just never thought that 15 seconds would make that much difference. Also, hi, sorry we are no longer on the same server.


As for everyone else... I will be happy to gouge all of you who did not bother to level ALC on the sale of this putty, no need to thank me, i will make enough for you all.

One big example is fast conflags in turn 5. If you haven't touch turn 5, fast conflag immobilizes one player and the team has 15 second to destroy the conflag or else the player dies. you should be using burn pots for asclepeus in turn 5. definitely not on fast conflags.

Mega's give you a decent overall boost for sure. They can make up for a missed turn of DPS pretty easily.

Good thing I leveled it just for that smexy lab coat

Anyone have the recipe for Terminus Putty? I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I'd like to do some shopping/saving while I'm working on the master book :D
