I guess thats because crafting accesories are way too powerfull compared to the non-crafts of same ilvl, because crafted ones give FREE vitality for dps and healers, and FREE str or str + dex for tanks.
And that made them BiS for at least tanks, which was not what SE intended.
I agree with these points but...
They are making none at all? Why not make them equal at allagan least?
For instance, the bard myth necklace is pretty terrible. A crafted necklace would have offered a chance to add some crit to it, making it a alternative to the allagan one from turn 4.
I guess I'm going to be farming turn 4 then. :P I just liked the variety that crafted accessories offered. They were more expensive to make than the easily farmed darklight. At best they offered vit and some more optimal stats. It's not like everyone was jumping on the bandwagon to craft them either. Until they made them cost half the philo mats, they were a very long grind to have a set. To me, it was just a side quest I could work on until other content came out. I didn't *need* them, infact I had all of the darklight accessories long before I had the crafted ones.
Is this confirmed? Anyone have a data-mined list of the master recipes?
I like it because now I don't have to spend more money, so I can save it for important stuff like pentamelding my i70 accessories.
I suppose that any issues that people might have with a lack of crafted accessories is that crafting is further trivialized with this patch.
The crafted armors themselves are rehashed models. Would it have been so difficult to have something new? I think it kind of just emphasizes that this crafting content isn't really the mainstream stuff. That is fine really but, I just wish it was up to the same standards of the previous crafting stuff out when the game launched. Those models were atleast, while not "new", were uncommon enough. We also had a full line of gear to wear. If you liked to craft, you could fully outfit your character. Having a full set of raid ready gear stamped with your "signature" was a fun concept that I'm sad to see isn't as big of a deal in this patch's incarnation.
Of course they were, because the crafted accessories were WAY more expensive than the normal accessories. i70 accessories cost 375 philo. i70 crafted accessories required 1125 philo worth of philo mats as well as other materials. And that's just to make something equal. If you wanted to make it *better* then you had to meld a bunch of materia on top of it, which can get very expensive/time consuming.

During the live letter it was asked if the ilevel of crafted gear would be raised. Yoshi said new Main Hand and Head pieces would be added. The FFXIV Database has info on these pieces already.
He's talking about "crafted" accessories, not "crafting" accessories.
It doesn't look like there are any recipes for new tank, dps or healer rings, bracelets, etc. Which sucks because those were easily the most popular and useful crafted pieces of gear (outside of gear used for crafting).
Yoshi was referring to new main hand and head pieces for the crafting jobs themselves with that statement. The op is referring to new crafted accessories for DOW and DOM jobs (not the same thing).
I too am disappointed that they do not have i90 crafted accessories for those in the same vein as the philo ones we were able to make at i70. /sigh
